LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Law Offices of Frank R. Cruz announces an investigation of Easterly ROCMuni High Income Municipal Bond Fund f/k/a Principal Street High Income Municipal Fund ('Easterly' or the 'Fund') (NASDAQ: RMHIX, RMHVX, RMJAX) on behalf of investors concerning the Fund's possible violations of federal securities laws.

What Is The Investigation About?
On June 13, 2025, the Fund abruptly slashed the value of its shares by 30%, with the value of shares continuing to fall in subsequent days. Industry news source The Bond Buyer reported the collapse was indicative of Fund-specific issues like 'flawed pricing,' 'illiquidity,' and the fact that the Fund was insufficiently 'diversified.' The article further noted that the Fund was heavily invested in junk investments with a 'lack of credit transparency.' According to the article, many bonds traded at a massive discount to their previously evaluated prices, including one instance where an investor paid just four cents for what had previous been represented as $3.2 million in bonds for a metal recycling company.
The total net assets of the Fund have collapsed from over $230 million as of March 31, 2025 to less than $17 million as of July 8, 2025.

Dip buys, stagflation talks, gold tariff scare: Market takeaways

Markets (^GSPC, ^IXIC, ^DJI) snapped back after last week's payroll-driven dip, with major indexes climbing and the Nasdaq hitting a fresh record. Yahoo Finance Markets and Data Editor Jared Blikre goes over the top trading day takeaways: last week's dip being bought, the continued conversation around stagflation, and a brief gold scare that rattled traders. To watch more expert insights and analysis on the latest market action, check out more Asking for a Trend. US stocks closed out the week on a high note with the NASDAQ setting another record close. Let's get to it with Yahoo Finances Jared Blickery for the top trading day takeaways. Jared, what do you got first? That dip was bought. And what dip am I talking about? I'm talking about the one from last Friday. It was one week ago that I was standing here next to the other Josh and we're talking about, it was kind of a scary day. Yes. So let me just show you the S&P 500. I think we're going to start out with a five day. Let's move this to a 10 day so we can see that. So that's when we got that whole payroll scare. And it wasn't that the number itself was that bad, although it was below expectations. It was the revisions. And we've been talking about that a lot this week. So it looked like things were kind of bad, but look, that was bought. It was only a three and a half percent dip or something like that from those record highs. And we are right back up. The S&P 500 by the way, today missed a record high by just less than one point. It was really close. And then here is the five-day price action in the in the market in the sectors. So consumer discretionary is first, then tech, and then interestingly, we were just talking about this consumer staples. And you don't usually see the those two consumer sectors right at the top because staples is more defensive. Nevertheless, that's what we got this week. So we're going to count one for the bulls and the green. I just wanted to highlight too, something else kind of random that not so random, but I think this talks as to the cyclicality and the bullishness right now. Semiconductors did very well. And you take a, I don't think we have time for this, but you take a look at some of the semiconductor indices, they are right around their all-time highs and they're just kind of trying to break out, but they haven't. Contrast that with the software, and we see a lot of red here, but software isn't the leading indicator that uh semiconductors are. So that's where I'm going to kind of be focusing. So, so Sammies would lead, and then software sort of follows, is that? Yeah, because of the recurring revenue software has turned into a more of a staples play almost of the tech industry. If that makes any sense. And and you brought up, Jared, that dip bought. Of course that was off economic fears. When you think forward to the rest of the, we didn't get a lot of data this week. No. Next Tuesday we get CPI, and so this ties into that stagflation. I hear this word bandied about all the time, um in financial news, and we talked with a guest about lowercase S stagflation, not the 70s type. Uh this was Chris Wolfe on Stocks and Translation of Pennington Partners. Let's take a listen. By the way, smallest stagflation gets this more stubborn inflation because it rotates and a little bit weaker growth. And so that's not 70s style, but it's likely to be a conundrum for the Fed, because how far do you want to cut? We're not getting that much growth, and there's so much stimulus coming down the road in the next 18 months that, you know, the opportunity really is to see how that evolves, but I expect the rest of this year to be just like this with slowing growth and persistent inflation. Yeah, that was really interesting because he talked about inflation rotating. And so you have good sector rotation, uh good sector inflation, then services sector, and he was saying that has kind of the baton has been passed back and forth over the last few years, but we haven't seen it blow out of proportion like we did before. By the way, that episode is out on Yahoo Finance's site, so let's check that out. And and Jared, you, we're talking about inflation, we're talking about perhaps maybe some other things that move when we talk about inflation. What was going on in the in the alt space this week? I like that. I like that transition here. Gold had a little bit of a tariff scare. And I was looking at gold's record high yesterday, and I wasn't seeing a lot of news behind it, but this fell almost kind of under the radar, and it's uh there are a lot of wonky details in this story. Let's see if I can find GC equals. Oh, there we go, 2.4%. I will show you a ten, uh let's do a five-day view so we can see here, we got up to those record highs yesterday, then we fell off today. Apparently, there was uh a letter from the Customs and Border Patrol that indicated that gold, especially out of Switzerland, and this is uh worldwide, was going to be taxed if it had a stamp on it. And so the Swiss gold that comes to the United States that is used by the COMEX exchange in certain denominations, that was going to be taxed, or tariffed. But as it turns out, it looks like there's news that President Trump is going to somehow provide an exception for that. So we got the roll back there. Nevertheless, gold still hovering around $3,500 per ounce, still around that record high. So that just tells you the strength of the underlying market, regardless of all this tariff. My gold fun fact, Jared. I saw I saw someone pointing this out this week. Look at the year-to-date move, 30%, depending on what we consider an asset class. It's certainly outperforming stocks and it's one of the top asset classes this year. Hey, gold is one of the most hated asset classes ever by a lot of institutional investors. Nevertheless, you cannot argue with price. Only price pays, uh says some famous day traders. We'll be watching that uptrend in gold for sure, Jared. All right, that's going to do it for us here. Appreciate you joining us. Nasdaq closes 200 points higher, notches new record

All three of the major indexes closed higher on Friday, with the Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) posting a new record close and the S&P 500 (^GSPC) closing just shy of one. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) also added more than 200 points. Yahoo Finance Markets and Data Editor Jared Blikre recaps the action at the close. To watch more expert insights and analysis on the latest market action, check out more Market Domination Overtime. I'm looking at the S&P 500. We missed that by, we were looking for 63, 89, 79. So we missed that by a whopping 18 cents or so. Uh, it doesn't look like we, uh, made it today or is that 28 cents? My bad there. Nevertheless, just a bit short, but we'll move on here. We had some decent gains for the week, and I'll go over that real quick. Here's a five-day price action up 2.43% in the Dow. It was one and a third percent. And let's get that, look at the NASDAQ as well. Up almost 4%. And we took a look at the bond market and dollar at the 3:00 p.m. change. And let's just skip right to the sector action. So here we have tech in the forefront, almost 1% followed by financials and then healthcare. Each of those outperforming. To the downside, we have utilities and real estate. Each of those interest rate sensitive sectors posting losses for the day, but not the week. Uh, we'll go over some of those weekly gains and losers in about 30 minutes, Josh and I. And then Apple up four and a quarter percent today. Alphabet up two and a half. Tesla up over two. Same for Netflix. So we didn't see some outside movement from some of the bigger stocks here. And we'll also go over some of those bigger sized movements in those bigger sized stocks in about 30 minutes. The mag 7 definitely outperformed this week. And a final look at the Dow here. Uh, aside from the mega caps, which we were just looking at, we got United Health up two and a half percent. McDonald's, though, sliding about three quarters of a percent. And IBM looks like it's the biggest loser down about two and a half percent. Nothing to write home about. Transports, let's take a real quick look at those because those were stumbling this week. We see the biggest one, Uber down 3%. Uh, FedEx, though, up about one and a half percent. And in airlines, we got United up also one and a half percent. And I'm going to take a look at semiconductors and software because that was a different market yesterday. We had semiconductors up, software lagging, and we got semiconductors up again today. Micron stealing the show up about 6%, although Microchip was down six and a half. Super Micro down about 4%. And as promised, here is software. A lot more red than green. And so we'll be able to dig into some of that as well in about 30 minutes, Josh. And I'll send it back to you on that. Jared, I'm looking forward to it. Everyone stick around. 30 minutes. We are breaking down Jared Blickre's top takeaways. Always one of my favorite segments. We'll see you then, Jared. Gold futures hit record on US tariff shock; mixed day for stocks

Gold futures hit a record high Friday following reports of an unexpected tariff on the precious metal as global stocks finished the week on a mixed note. Wall Street enjoyed a sunny Friday led by the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index, which posted a second straight record, part of a buoyant session in New York amid optimism over artificial intelligence and less uncertainty over trade policy. Investors are growing confident that President Donald Trump's constantly-changing US trade policy won't derail the surge in investment around artificial intelligence. "Part of the relief was that the tariffs on a very important sector around the US outlook on earnings, which is tech and AI, is mostly left unaffected," said Angelo Kourkafas, senior global investment strategist at Edward Jones. Apple, which pledged increased US investment at a White House meeting this week, won 4.2 percent, its third straight significant gains. Nvidia and Google parent Alphabet also advanced. Gold futures shot to a new all-time intraday high at $3,534.10 an ounce after the Financial Times reported that Washington had classified one-kilo bars, the most traded type of bullion on Comex -- the world's biggest futures market, as subject to "reciprocal" tariff rates. One-kilo bars make up the largest part of Switzerland's gold shipments to the United States. Imports from Switzerland face a 39-percent reciprocal tariff from Thursday. The FT said 100-ounce bars would also face the levy. The levy caused "shock and confusion" in markets, said Han Tan, chief market analyst at trading group. After hitting the high, the gold future price later pulled back to around $3,454 an ounce. A White House official told AFP that the Trump administration plans to "issue an executive order in the near future clarifying misinformation about the tariffing of gold bars and other specialty products." In European trading, both London's FTSE 100 and Frankfurt dipped, while Paris stocks edged higher. Japanese stocks led the way on a mostly negative day for Asian markets, fueled by relief that Tokyo and Washington had settled a tariff issue that raised concerns about their trade deal. "Since the tariff agreement between the US and the European Union, some clarity has emerged, but confusion around its implementation is just beginning to surface," said Jochen Stanzl, chief market analyst at CMC Markets. "In Japan, there is relief today upon hearing that the various tariffs will not be cumulative," he added. The Nikkei 225 stocks index jumped nearly two percent after Japan's tariffs envoy said Washington was expected to revise an executive order that stacked tariffs on top of each other. "However, it remains unclear whether the same rules apply for Japan and the EU," Stanzl added. - Key figures at around 2030 GMT - New York - Dow: UP 0.5 percent at 44,175.61 (close) New York - S&P 500: UP 0.8 percent at 6,389.45 (close) New York - Nasdaq Composite: UP 1.0 percent at 21,450.02 (close) London - FTSE 100: DOWN 0.1 percent at 9,095.73 (close) Paris - CAC 40: UP 0.4 percent at 7,743.00 (close) Frankfurt - DAX: DOWN 0.1 percent at 24,162.86 (close) Tokyo - Nikkei 225: UP 1.9 percent at 41,820.48 (close) Hong Kong - Hang Seng Index: DOWN 0.9 percent at 24,858.82 (close) Shanghai - Composite: DOWN 0.1 percent at 3,635.13 (close) Pound/dollar: UP at $1.3451 from $1.3444 on Thursday Euro/dollar: DOWN at $1.1643 from $1.1666 Dollar/yen: UP at 147.79 yen from 147.14 yen Euro/pound: DOWN at 86.54 pence from 86.77 pence Brent North Sea Crude: UP 0.2 percent at $66.59 per barrel West Texas Intermediate: FLAT at $63.88 per barrel burs-jmb/sla Sign in to access your portfolio
