Denton Police are searching for a driver who didn't stop after hitting two pedestrians on Saturday morning.
It happened just after 2 a.m. in the 2300 block of Carril Al Lago Dr., a residential street near N. Bonnie Brae St. and W. University Dr.
The vehicle is described as a dark 2014-2015 Kia Optima with a missing or damaged front grill.
DENTON, Texas - The Denton Police Department is hoping the public can help identify the driver of a vehicle who didn't stop after striking two pedestrians early Saturday morning.
What we know
Police say it happened just after 2 a.m. in the 2300 block of Carril Al Lago Drive, a residential street near N. Bonnie Brae Street and W. University Drive.
Witnesses told police that a dark-colored sedan crashed into the two female pedestrians and did not stop.
The vehicle was last seen driving north on N. Bonnie Brae Street. Both pedestrians were taken to a hospital. One woman has life-threatening injuries while the second woman's injuries were minor.
Traffic investigators have tentatively identified the suspect vehicle as a dark 2014-2015 Kia Optima. The vehicle has a missing or damaged front grill and likely has headlight damage.
What we don't know
The identities of the pedestrians have not been released.

Denton man charged with murder in fiancée's death after initial evidence tampering allegation, police say
A Denton man initially accused of tampering with evidence in his fiancée's death has now been charged with murder, police said Monday. William Joseph Oddo III, 52, is being held in the City of Denton Jail. His bond has not yet been set, according to the Denton Police Department. Denton police said the Mount Pleasant Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force assisted in Oddo's arrest. The case remains under investigation.

Three teens charged after guns found in stolen car, Knoxville police say
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knoxville Police Department took three teenagers into custody Sunday on auto theft and weapons charges. Just before 6 p.m., a man told police that he had found a stolen KIA Optima belonging to his father by the Walmart on Kinzel Way, KPD said. Officers went to the location where the witness described the occupants of the vehicle. Landlord charged with reckless endangerment after tenants say he fired gun Police captured one of the suspects, a 16-year-old boy, near the Walmart entrance after he attempted to run from them, KPD wrote. The officers also found two other suspects, 17 and 19, inside the store. The oldest suspect ran out of the store and across the parking lot before officers caught up to him at a gas station, police say. He and the 16-year-old face charges of evading arrest as well. Video of deadly South LA hit-and-run scooter collision released by LAPD
The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a hit-and-run driver who killed a woman while riding her scooter in South Los Angeles last month. Video of the collision was released by LAPD on Friday, showing the moment when a vehicle struck the scooter at an intersection, and continued to drive away. Kelly Calderon, 28, died at the scene and police are hoping the video helps to identify the suspect who remains at large. On April 8 around midnight, the suspect in a dark colored sedan, possibly a Kia Optima of Kia K5, was traveling northbound on Figueroa Street when it stuck Calderon at the Colden Avenue intersection. The driver continued on after the collision without identifying themselves or helping the victim.
