The duo had finished fifth in the qualification with 578 points, losing out on placing in the gold medal match by three points. Suruchi had a better showing of the two, accumulating 292 points which included a perfect first series. Saurabh, on the other hand, shot 286.
In the first bronze medal match, the pair had to go up against Chinese Taipei's Liu Heng-Yu and Hsieh Hsiang-Chen. The Indians comfortably romped home with a tally of 17-9.

Last year he won a silver medal in the World Cup Final in Delhi. At the ongoing Asian meet, Naruka finished third in qualifying with a score of 119. In the 60-shot final Naruka was in top form and fired 29 of his first 30 targets. He took the lead, shooting 35 of 36 targets and was one hit ahead of his rival with 10 shots to go. Both shooters missed one in the tense final round, handing Naruka the prized medal. The women's skeet trio of Maheshwari Chauhan, Ganemat Sekhon and Raiza Dhillon combined for a bronze in the team event. In the air pistol mixed team event, Suruchi Phogat and Saurabh Chaudhary won a bronze. They shot 578 in the qualification with Suruchi scoring 292 and Saurabh 286. In the bronze medal match , the Indian duo beat the Chinese Taipei pair of Liu Heng-Yu and Hsieh Hsiang-Chen 17-9. India added two gold medals in 10m air pistol mixed team junior and youth events. Vanshika Chaudhary and Jonathan Gavin Antony won the 10m air pistol mixed team junior event defeating the Korean pair of Kim Yejin and Kim Dooyeon 16-14. For Jonathan, it was his third medal of the championship, having also won an individual bronze and team silver. Ganesh Gupta and Gamberya Gowda then beat Iran 16-14 in the gold medal match. India had topped the qualification with a score of 575. India thus ended the day on top of the medal tally with a total of 19 medals -- nine gold, five silver and bronze medals each.

The 27-year-old Naruka, who has won team gold and mixed team gold in the 2023 edition of the championships, qualified for the final in second position with 119 after five rounds, while Kuwait's Abdulaziz Alsaad led the pack with 120 on their way to the final. Al Rashidi was third in the qualification with 119. For Naruka, an Asian Games silver medallist, this was his fifth medal overall in the continental tournament. Saurabh and Suruchi defeated the Taipei pair of Liu Heng-Yu and Hsieh Hsiang-Chen 17-9. Iran's Haniyeh Rostamiyan and Vahid Golkhandan won the other bronze medal, beating Thuy Trang Nguyen and Cong Minh Lai of Vietnam. South Korea bagged the gold medal against China. The Indians aggregated 578, with Suruchi scoring 292 and Saurabh regstering 286, in the qualification round to be placed fifth going into the eight-team medal round. With the 10m air pistol mixed team bronze, India's total medal tally in the senior category at the Asian Shooting Championship 2025 climbs to four. On Monday, Anmol Jain, Saurabh Chaudhary and Aditya Malra clinched silver in the men's 10m air pistol team event. Double Olympic-medallist Manu Bhaker had won in the women's 10m air pistol competition on Tuesday. Manu (583) also won a team bronze in women's air pistol alongside reigning Asian Games champ Palak (573) and Suruchi Phogat (574), both of whom missed out on the individual final by three and two points, respectively. Since Monday India has won an individual bronze and a team silver and a team bronze, in the 10m air pistol events across both the senior men and women categories. Overall, India has won six gold, five silver and three bronze medals from all competitions held so far. The Indian senior shooting squad for the Asian competition comprises 35 members competing for medals in 15 events. A total of 129 Indian shooters are also competing in the junior events.
