Boban: ‘Theo Hernandez is idle, indecent and unsporting'
Former Milan director Zvonimir Boban eviscerated Theo Hernandez after the costly red card in the Champions League play-off with Feyenoord. 'He's been doing this for years, it's indecent and unsporting.'
The left-back was already on a yellow card for a futile foul in midfield, which would've ruled him out of the next game anyway.
He then ran into the box after a give and go with Rafael Leao, but went down without contact from Givairo Read, receiving the second booking for simulation.
It proved costly, as the Rossoneri crashed out of the Champions League 2-1 on aggregate.
Boban, who is a former Milan player and director, was a pundit in the Sky Sport Italia studio and certainly did not hold back.
'Theo Hernandez has been doing this for years, I am stunned that nobody has already told him this or corrected his behaviour,' said Boban.
'The second yellow card is absurd. It is indecent, unsporting. You don't do that, there's no ifs and buts about it.'
This is hardly the first time that the France international has been criticised for his attitude and it could affect the negotiations to extend his contract.
'Since the start of the season we have seen a Theo who is nothing to do with the player we knew. He is just idle,' continued Boban.
'At the start, he just wasn't very good at defending, then he improved a lot, but this season it feels like he isn't even trying.
'Morally, this is a serious error. Why do that simulation? He's a defender, he can charge forward with such pace, has great physicality, come on, going down like that…'

Pulisic has made 50 appearances in back-to-back seasons with Milan, where he's revitalized his career and become one of the most important players for the Rossoneri. Given his importance to the USMNT, the 26-year-old's absence has been a major talking point. But for Adams, the continuing focus on Pulisic isn't fair to the players who will be looking to regain the Gold Cup title. "I think it's unfair to players that have gotten called in that we're talking about Christian and the reasons that he's not in camp," Adams said. "It's taking the focus away from the team. "He has personal reasons and maybe needs a break, or just to decompress a little bit from all the football that he's played in the past couple of years. And we need to focus on the guys that are here in camp, and the expectations that we can live up to." The USMNT will face Turkey and Switzerland in pre-Gold Cup friendlies before kicking off the Concacaf competition against Trinidad and Tobago on June 15.

Ex-Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp said that the club's decision to sack Ange Postecoglou did not surprise him in the slightest and would not write off a return for Mauricio Pochettino. Redknapp, who managed Spurs from 2008 to 2012, said that Postecoglou's dismissal was 'harsh', but did concede that the north Londoners had been 'atrocious' this term. 'There'll be an awful lot of people who would love that opportunity to manage Tottenham for sure, and Frank at Brentford is a big odds-on favourite. "Even Mauricio Pochettino - a friend of mine rang me and said, you know, what about Pochettino going back there? It's possible. I wouldn't write him off. Naturally, I'd be pleased."
