Kerala to give HPV vaccines to Class 11, 12 students to prevent cervical cancer
In a major public health initiative, the Kerala Health Department has decided to administer the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to Plus One and Plus Two students across the state to prevent cervical cancer. Health Minister Veena George announced the plan following a high-level meeting held under her vaccine, which is most effective when administered between the ages of 9 and 14, can be given up to the age of 26. The final decision on the rollout will be taken in a technical committee meeting scheduled within a week. Minister Veena George said the move is in line with the Chief Minister's directive to work towards a cervical cancer-free cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting women, and the HPV vaccine is considered a key preventive measure. To ensure effective implementation, the state will also launch an awareness campaign tailored for both students and their parents. Special messaging will be developed as per the recommendations of the technical committee and delivered at the school level. The vaccination drive is part of a broader cancer prevention strategy in the state. Kerala has already formed a cancer care grid to coordinate diagnosis and treatment services. Plus One: application submission for spot admission from Tuesday
Applications for admission to vacant Plus One higher secondary seats can be submitted from 10 a.m. on Tuesday to 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Students who are yet to get Plus One admission despite applying for various merit quota allotments can apply to the current vacant seats. Those who have taken admission in some quota are not eligible to apply. The vacancies will be published on the admission website at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Vacancies in model residential higher secondary schools will also be published on the website for spot admission.

School/combination transfer admissions to begin on July 25
The district/inter-district school/combination transfer allotment for Plus One higher secondary admissions will be published to facilitate admissions from 10 a.m. on Friday till 4 p.m. on July 28. As many as 55,419 applications had been received for the school/combination transfer till July 21. Of these, 54,827 applications that were found valid will be considered for the allotment. Results can be checked on 'Transfer Allot Results' link using the candidate login. Vacancies remaining after the school/combination transfer will be published at 2 p.m. on July 29 to enable merit-based spot admission.
