‘And Just Like That' ripped for poop scene in franchise-ending finale: ‘I feel insulted'
The 'Sex and the City' spinoff, 'And Just Like That,' had its series finale on Thursday after three seasons on HBO Max – marking the end of Carrie Bradshaw's (Sarah Jessica Parker) story, which started in 1998.
The end of her story wasn't sexy or romantic, or even full of profound friendship moments. Instead, the final episode had a scene involving….poop. Really.

Fans blasted the show for the ending scene.
'Why am I saying farewell to some of my favorite TV characters of all time and seeing a toilet overflow on my screen?' one enraged fan posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Another proclaimed, 'It's a choice to make the series finale have 3 scenes involving sh*t and piss… the writers def hate us.'
A third fan wrote, 'Why have I seen 2 men pee this episode and now a sea of turds.'

A third viewer said, 'the series finale of And Just Like That genuinely made me run to the bathroom and vomit and i think that's such a testament to its legacy.'
Another fan slammed the ending, saying, 'I believe the writers were like f–k ya'll for sh-tting on us..having the last 8 minutes of shots of Victor Garber pissing and seeing literal sh-ts in an overflowing toilet. Not to be dramatic but feel insulted as a long time viewer. the world is bad enough.'

Her friends Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis), aren't there for most of it, as Miranda had to go support her girlfriend with a dog emergency at the vet, and Charlotte had to support her husband, who had recovered from his erectile dysfunction issues after his cancer.
This leaves Carrie alone with Miranda's son, Brady (Niall Cunningham), three of Brady's irritating friends, and Mark (Victor Garber), who Charlotte invited to set up with Carrie (much to Carrie's dismay, since she wasn't interested in him).
One of Brady's friends clogs the toilet and tells everyone that they need to light a candle after she uses the bathroom.
Later, when Mark uses the toilet, it overflows, and the camera shows crap in it.

So, when people say that the show had a sh-tty finale, they're speaking literally.
A gross-out toilet scene is an undignified way to end the story of an iconic TV character, especially on a show known for being sexy and fun, in its heyday.

'Sex and the City' first premiered in 1998 following Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha (Kim Cattrall, who only had a brief cameo in 'And Just Like That') through sex and dating adventures in New York City.

Following that show's 2004 finale, they returned for movies in 2008 and 2010, before 'And Just Like That' premiered in 2021 to follow the friends in their 50s – without Samantha.
'And Just Like That' has been unpopular among fans from the beginning.

After it premiered by killing off Carrie's longtime love, Big (Chris Noth), enraged fans said that the show 'ruined' the original series, and 'destroyed' Big and Carrie.
Critics also blasted 'And Just Like That' for making some characters 'woke' caricatures, like Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez), who was in Seasons 1 and 2.

Despite its dwindling ratings and controversies, 'And Just Like That' was reportedly not canceled.
On August 1, when Parker made the abrupt announcement that the show would end with Season 3, showrunner Michael Patrick King also posted his own announcement on social media.
'While I was writing the last episode of 'And Just Like That…' season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop,' he wrote.
He claimed that they didn't announce that Season 3 would be the final season ahead of time, because, 'we didn't want the word 'final' to overshadow the fun of watching the season.'

The toilet scene caused fans to doubt his words.
'They made the whole show about Aiden, just for him to leave, they retconned Big, they lost Samantha, and they made the 33-minute finale emotionless and sh-t-filled,' one fan said.
'This cannot have been a 'planned' And Just Like That Finale?! I'm a die-hard SATC fan, but, wow.'

Sophie Turner And Kit Harington Played Siblings For Years On Game Of Thrones, And I Love Her Funny Take On Them Portraying Lovers In A New Movie
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. When certain actors play characters for a very long time, it can be hard to picture them as anyone else. That feeling becomes amplified when two former co-stars reunite for a new and totally different project. Well, now I'm feeling all those feelings as two of Game of Thrones' cast members, Sophie Turner and Kit Harington, are starring in a movie together. However, to make matters weirder, these performers who played siblings on GOT are playing lovers in this new movie. That's a kind of hard to comprehend, but don't worry, Turner is hilariously struggling with it too. For context, Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are set to star in the gothic horror film The Dreadful. At the moment, it's not on the 2025 movie schedule, but in a Vogue video, the actress expressed her excitement about the upcoming film and reuniting with her GOT brother, saying: I did a movie last year which I'm really excited about with my old but very good friend Kit Harington, who played my brother on Game of Thrones. We're doing a gothic horror, but we play lovers. Sorry guys, it's really weird for all of us. To state the obvious, Harington and Turner are not actually related, so if you take Game of Thrones out of it, this is not weird at all. However, they did play Jon Snow and Sansa Stark in the extraordinary fantasy adaptation for eight seasons. So, for many of us who have and still do watch Game of Thrones with an HBO Max subscription, it's hard to see these two as anything other than siblings. The HBO series got the world talking, and to this day, most of its main cast is best known for their roles in it. When I think of Harington and Turner, the Stark family and their characters are the first things that come to mind. Picturing them as anything but siblings is, as Turner said, 'really weird.' This is especially true because the series ran from 2011 to 2019, and we literally watched both actors grow up on screen, as Turner was 15 when she began playing Sansa and Harington was 24 when Season 1 premiered. HBO Max: Plans start from $9.99 a monthHBO classics, like Game of Thrones and Succession, can be streamed in full on HBO Max. Plans start at $9.99 per month, or you can save 20% by paying for a full year upfront. View Deal However, I'll get over it just like they seemingly did, considering they made this movie together, because I love the idea of a Game of Thrones reunion on the big screen. Plus, The Dreadful sounds fascinating. The fact that it's a gothic horror had me hooked already. However, Deadline reported that the film, which was written and directed by Natasha Kermani, follows a woman (Turner) who has been living in solitude with her mother-in-law during the War of the Roses when a man (Harington) from her past returns. Sign me up! And I'll do my best to pretend like I don't know that the film's stars played siblings for years on Game of Thrones. Maybe I'll even try to pretend like I've never seen GOT (which Turner hasn't), and that might help me forget the on-screen familial ties. No matter what, I know I'll move past it, though, because, seemingly like Turner, my excitement to see the actors reunite trumps the feelings I have about these former on-screen siblings playing on-screen lovers.

'Oh, Shoot, That's My Brother': Sophie Turner Didn't Hold Back While Explaining Just How Uncomfortable She And Kit Harington Were Playing Lovers
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. I'm so thrilled that Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are reuniting for an upcoming horror movie. However, I can't quite get over the fact that the Game of Thrones cast members are going to be playing lovers. It turns out, they hilariously couldn't either, as the Sansa Stark actress recalled just how uncomfortable she and the Jon Snow actor were filming their intimate scenes together. Sophie Turner spent the better part of her time on Late Night with Seth Meyers discussing various uncomfortable filming situations she's been in. While promoting her project on the 2025 movie schedule, Trust, she talked about working with rats and cockroaches. However, she also got real about the weirdness of making out with your former on-screen brother. Here's how her story about how this ended up happening in the first place began: I just got the script for an amazing gothic horror called The Dreadful. And I was reading through all the characters, and I'm producing it. So, the director was asking me 'Who do you think?' And immediately the first person I thought of was Kit. Well, that's really sweet. I love that the first person she wanted to work with was a fellow Stark, because any Game of Thrones reunion is a good one. However, things got weird when Turner and Harington realized that their relationship in this new movie would be totally different than the one they had on the HBO show. Explaining that realization, Turner said: And so I sent the script to Kit, and he kind of sent me a message back like 'Yeah, I'd love to, but this is going to be really fucking weird, Soph.' And I was like, 'What is he talking about?' And then I was reading it, and I'm like kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex, and I'm like 'Oh, shoot, that's my brother.' Listen, I realize that in the Game of Thrones universe, being in a romantic relationship with your brother or niece is not necessarily unusual. However, it's also never not weird. Plus, the Stark siblings – i.e., Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran, Rickon and Jon – never participated in the incest. Plus, with GOT being one of HBO's shows that got the world talking, it's admittedly hard to separate the actors from their characters. So, all that considered, yeah, it's weird that Sansa and Jon's actors are playing lovers. I love that they found it odd, too. In fact, it was so weird for them, Turner claimed that they were both 'retching' when they had to lock lips on set: But it's such a good script that he was like, 'We kind of have to do it.' So, then we put it out of our minds. And then we get on set, and it's the first kissing scene, and we are both retching. Like, really, it is vile. It was the worst. Another really bad moment in my career. On top of this, earlier in the interview, she spoke about how 'foul' it was to work with cockroaches and rats on the same day for a different movie. She called that the 'worst day of my career.' However, a few minutes later, when they talked about The Dreadful, and Meyers asked if playing lovers with her GOT co-star was worse than the cockroaches, the actress said: Yeah. It was. HBO Max: Plans start from $9.99 a monthThe With Ads plan for HBO Max starts at $9.99 with three other tiers available. With this subscription, you can stream classics like Game of Thrones, The Sopranos and so much more. View Deal As someone who binged Game of Thrones with an HBO Max subscription, I will also have a hard time moving past this like they did. However, also like them, I'm going to do it. The fact that Turner and Harington were willing to work through the weirdness of playing lovers after playing siblings for years tells me that they're committed to this movie. So, you better believe I'm going to go see it. If they have confidence in it, I'll be thrilled to watch it, even if it means I have to work really, really hard to get over the fact that they played iconic siblings on Game of Thrones.

HBO Aims To Loomerize Laura Loomer Over Deposition Leak & Posts In Bill Maher Defamation Suit
Gavin Newsom wants to fight 'fire with fire' when it comes to Donald Trump and attacks on American democracy, but HBO and Bill Maher just want Laura Loomer to stop talking and posting. Good luck. More from Deadline Networks Plan Special Reports And Dispatch Anchors To Donald Trump-Vladimir Putin Summit PBS To Cut Budget By 21% Following Public Media's Loss Of Federal Funding Denée Benton Talks Being The Belle Of The Ball In 'The Gilded Age' Season 3 Finale 'It has come to Defendants' attention that after Plaintiff needlessly filed her deposition on the public docket as part of unrelated objections, a copy of the unsealed exhibit was made available on the website CourtListener,' HBO declared to Florida-based federal Judge James Moody in a filing on August 13, a couple weeks after Loomer's scorching sit-down with the outlet and Maher's lawyer Katherine Bolger and others was leaked. HBO are accusing the hot button Rumble host of stepping way over the line online with the federal courts by talking about her deposition, which was not intended to be made public. A leak that Loomer, who sued HBO and Maher for defamation and $150 million in October 2024, took the time to comment on, as HBO's Davis Wright Tremaine LLP and Shullman Fugate PLLC attorneys noted: 'Since yesterday, Plaintiff has Tweeted about this deposition three times in contravention of the Court's Order.' This all started on September 22, 2024 when Maher postulated on-air that Trump and Loomer were having a fling. Specifically, the host resurrected his who is Trump the 'f*cking' quip and replied to himself 'I think it might be Laura Loomer.' In Maher's logic, and in search of an easy laugh, that's why the far right activist had so much pull with the then GOP candidate. In her leaked deposition, which leaked online last month, Loomer says the blast radius of Trump onetime dinner companion Maher's remark left her 'smeared as a whore and as a groupie.' 'Bill Maher has no understanding of my personal life,' Loomer went on to say in the now resealed depo. 'He was reckless with the regard to the fact that I have a boyfriend. And he has no evidence that I had sex with President Trump. It's just outrageous. And so as it relates to my situation, yes, it's defamatory.' This week, in a sideshow that will likely not make it into Maher's Real Time monologue tonight, HBO want Judge Moody to shut Loomer and the leaks down. In that context, two of Loomer's tweets from August 12 directly referenced her contention in the deposition that she had been previous told by 'several of President Trump's staff have told me in confidence that Lindsey Graham is gay.' As well as hitting frequent foe Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-FL) and Arby's (won't go there, look it up), Loomer punched way up on the long time South Carolina Senator and Trump loyalist to a fault. On Thursday, Loomer's lawyer Larry Klayman essentially told HBO and Maher to take a long walk off a short legal pier. 'The tweets that Defendants reference that were made by Plaintiff Ms. Loomer actually show that she did not disclose or reveal any information in the sealed deposition,' the Judicial Watch founder said in his August 14 filing. 'Ms. Loomer simply responded innocuously to inquiries posed by persons whohad gained access to the deposition transcript through their own means. Thus, the bottom line is that she did not 'use' any of her deposition or discovery.' Klayman ends his filing popping HBO and Maher on the nose for leaning into the leaked deposition and Loomer's tweets. He calls it simply a scheme to 'drive up time, cost, and expense with a manufactured nonissue.' Reps for HBO and Bill Maher did not respond to Deadline's request for comment on the latest legal flurry. Love her, hate her, fear her, or just wish she would leave you alone, Trump's self-declared MAGA 'loyalty enforcer' Loomer has proven a power player in Trump's DC. While she has no official gig in the administration, which Loomer says is in no small part due to Maher's comments about her and Trump,, among her alleged victims so far have been National Security Council and CIA staffers, and some of RFK Jr's staff – though White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles had at least one MAHA team member rehired. On Thursday, HBO and Maher's lawyers were back in the court docket pushing Judge Moody to get Loomer and Klayman to hand over documents required for the soon-to-end discovery. They also questioned Loomer to provide some evidence of 'a single social relationship that has been harmed' by Maher's sharp statement. Perhaps more importantly, HBO and Maher want Loomer 'to identify any individual she contends was led by Defendants' statement to mistakenly believe that she and President Trump engaged in a sexual relationship.' Or put another way: 'Plaintiff argues that her sitting for a deposition somehow alleviates her of her obligation to produce responsive documents and answer interrogatories. That is not the law. Parties do not get to pick and choose which discovery vehicles they prefer to engage with.'
