Metro6 hours ago

Elaine Knight (Harriet Thorpe) has to face the consequences of her actions in EastEnders next week.
Tensions hit boiling point in The Queen Vic following Linda Carter's (Kellie Bright) jaw-dropping revelation that she wants to sell the boozer.
Elaine continues to be stunned by the revelation, but things go from bad to worse when the police come knocking over last week's incident, turning up the heat on an already fraught situation.
As viewers of the BBC One soap will remember, Elaine – who was in self-destruct mode following her separation from husband George (Colin Salmon) served two of the local teens alcohol.
They then proceeded to steal two large pitchers full of the punch, which were downed by the younger children.
Will Elaine and Linda get off the hook?
Desperate to change her daughter's mind, Elaine begs Linda to reconsider, but the mother-daughter heart-to-heart quickly spirals into a blazing row.
Fed up and emotional, Linda storms out and finds herself confiding in George. But when Elaine catches sight of them both she jumps to the worst possible conclusion – the pair are trying to plot against her.
Later, a disheartened Elaine is dealt another blow when a crucial meeting with the bank to secure a loan to buy Linda out falls flat.
Clinging to any lifeline she can find, she pleads with grandson Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) to step in as a silent partner – but he shuts her down, leaving her feeling more alone than ever.
With emotions running high, Elaine finally snaps when she throws the punters out of The Vic in a rage before unleashing her fury on Linda in a brutal showdown.
But the stress proves too much, and she suddenly collapses, sending shockwaves through the pub as Linda and Johnny rush to her side.

But Linda is wracked with guilt and opens up to Johnny about staying in the pub for her mum's sake. Johnny, however, doesn't hold back and tells his mum he still thinks she should walk away.
But just as they head back into the bar, disaster strikes again – as Elaine collapses for a second time…

EastEnders legend 'died virtually penniless' after blowing £1m fortune

Leslie Grantham was a jewel in the crown of EastEnders as 'Dirty' Den Watts – but the actor sadly died with virtually no money to his name after an incredible downfall EastEnders continues to bathe in the glory of it 40th anniversary celebrations back in February. Viewers were delighted by an epic live episode that saw the harrowing death of Martin Fowler (James Bye), although viewers couldn't help spotting 'blunders' with Sonia and Linda during the special programme. For many months, the soap has also been indulging in a bit of nostalgia, welcoming back several familiar faces from the past, including from David Wicks (Michael French), Tracy-Ann Oberman (Chrissie Watts), Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer), Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright). Yet, these comebacks are dwarfed by the programme's most dramatic 'return' plotline, which unfolded back in 2003. The decision to bring back 'Dirty' Den Watts from the dead – despite the character being 'killed off' in 1988 – made headlines and sent the show's ratings skyrocketing. ‌ ‌ Regrettably, for Leslie Grantham, the actor who portrayed Den, this comeback was to be his last hurrah. His second tenure on the show ended amidst scandal, causing his career to stumble. In 2004, a newspaper revealed then-57 year old Leslie had been exposing himself online, using a webcam in his EastEnders dressing room. Consequently, Den was written out of the show in early 2005, meeting his end for the second time after his wife Chrissie hit him on the head with an iron doorstop – and this time, there would be no miraculous resurrection. Following his departure from the limelight, Leslie did snag a part in The Bill, yet post-2005, his professional life was largely made up of panto and theatre gigs. Reports suggest that by 2018, when cancer claimed his life, Leslie was nearly destitute, having spent some of his last years in a friend's spare room after his long marriage to Jane Laurie ended. Daily Mail coverage indicated that the financially-stricken actor took measures to organise and pay for a 'no frills funeral', worried his family might otherwise be burdened with the cost. Possessing only scant shares in a business worth below £23,000 and a modest Bulgarian property, legal complexities meant his survivors – including his three sons with ex-wife Jane – wouldn't inherit much. ‌ A confidant revealed: "Leslie suffered from really bad money troubles the past several years, and worrying about it did his health no good. In fact, the stress of his financial situation probably speeded up his death as he was so frail." Detailing Leslie's funeral preparations, the informant shared: "He paid for the whole event and left specific instructions about what he wanted. An average funeral costs £4,000 and he made sure it was all sorted." On a brighter note, Leslie's son, Daniel Laurie, is keeping the acting legacy alive with his regular appearance as Reggie Jackson in the BBC series Call The Midwife.

Sean Maguire who first rose to fame in Grange Hill and went on to star as Aidan Brosnan in EastEnders in 1993 before launching a successful pop career, revealed he was going through a 'tough time' recently. ‌ The 49-year-old, who now lives in LA, shared his profound sorrow over the loss of his dear brother as he responded to a recent Instagram post from Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi. He shared how he had broken into tears when hearing one of Lewis' songs. ‌ Sean expressed: "Lewis been a fan for a while. Don't like talking about this s****. But having a tough time just now. Lost my brother six months ago. Holding it together. But dropped my kids off this morning and played 'someone you loved' and hit differently. Then burst into tears. "I didn't know I needed it. Maybe I did. Had to pull the car over and keep singing and crying. Thank you for the therapy. Really thank you. You helped me get back up. X". Sean's brother died back on January 11 and just a few days later he shared the sad news on his own social media on January 15. He shared a video with the caption: "I've struggled to find the words or even choose the pictures for this. Because it means that it's real but for those who don't already know our beloved brother Darren Maguire passed away on Saturday, 11th January. ‌ "He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was a truly remarkable man, friend, son, brother, and was so loved by everyone that knew him. I'm still in so much shock. "I can barely form a sentence, but I know the world has lost one of its most beloved people and I have lost my best friend. We love you Darren and we'll never stop loving you. Now go make them laugh and dance heaven." During Sean's year on Albert Square he played troubled teen Aidan the soap as a 17-year-old in 1993, Sean's character was involved in tough storylines focused on homelessness and drug abuse which culminated in a near suicide attempt. While he was stopped from taking his own life by girlfriend Mandy, he blamed her for ruining his life and fled to Ireland. Sean became a pop star after leaving EastEnders, scoring eight top 30 hits including Good Day which peaked at number 12 in the UK. But while he has had a successful career both on and off the screen behind closed doors Sean is a proud dad of three with his former wife Tanya Flynn.

However, when Kevin checks the CCTV, he is fuming to see Abi tampering with the car… In this new video, Kevin arrives in the garage ready to confront Abi about the video footage. He's puzzled and wonders why she would sabotage things for Carl, questioning if there's something going on between them. Abi's paranoia increases when Kevin mentions the text on her phone from Carl, who claims it was just banter.
