TWO of Colchester United's promising youngsters have moved out on loan. Frankie Terry has returned to National League side Braintree Town, where he spent part of last season on loan, while fellow centre-back Sam Kuffour Jnr has linked up with AFC Hornchurch, of National League South. Terry signed a new two-year deal with Colchester last month, with an option for a further year. The 21-year-old centre-back, who has been at Colchester since the age of 15 and made his league debut for the club in January 2025 against Accrington Stanley, is the son of Leyton Orient assistant boss Paul Terry and nephew of football legends John Terry and Paul Konchesky. Terry is in line to feature for Braintree in their National League opener against FC Halifax Town, on Saturday. The young centre-back, who is the son of Bayern Munich and Ghana legend Samuel Kuffour, started out in the youth set-up at Brentford and West Ham United. Hornchurch boss Daryl McMahon told the club's website: 'I had seen him play last year for Maldon & Tiptree a couple of times. 'We knew about his potential and we are really happy that Colchester United and Danny Cowley have been in touch and let us have him to help push his development. 'We hope what we did last year with the players we took on loan and aiding their development that we are getting recognised now, with clubs happy for us to have their players. 'We hope Sam can develop as the other boys last year and we're sure he can.'
