Mika Salamanca, Will Ashley volunteer in soup kitchens for families affected by inclement weather
Mika Salamanca and Will Ashley braved the weather to extend help to those affected by Typhoon Crising and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat). On Instagram Wednesday, Sparkle GMA Artist Center shared photos showing the 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition' housemates taking part in food preparations. 'From the PBB kitchen to kitchens for-a-cause. Despite the heavy rains and in the spirit of bayanihan, Mika Salamanca and Will Ashley stepped up to serve — volunteering in two soup kitchens in Quezon City and Marikina for families affected by Typhoon Crising and the Southwest Monsoon,' Sparkle wrote in the caption. Aside from preparing hot meals, Mika and Will also helped in raising funds online to support more communities in need. Their efforts were made in partnership with the Angat Bayanihan Volunteer Network of the Angat Buhay Foundation. The triple threat of Crising, Habagat-induced rains, and low-pressure areas contributed to heavy rains — and heavy flooding — in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. On Wednesday, PAGASA said three dams in Luzon continued to release water amid heavy rains due to the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat and a low-pressure area. For those looking to donate to the victims of the heavy rains, here is a list of organizations with relief operations. —Carby Rose Basina/CDC, GMA Integrated News

Ronnie Liang, more Kapuso artists join GMA Kapuso Foundation's relief operations for those affected by heavy rains
Several Kapuso celebrities went out of their way to volunteer for GMA Kapuso Foundation's relief operations for the benefit of those who have been affected by the inclement weather. Sparkle star and Philippine Army reservist Ronnie Liang joined the foundation's relief distribution in San Mateo, Rizal under its Operation Bayanihan project. He was seen with Kapuso comedienne Marites "Tessbomb" Marañon in the mercy mission in San Mateo. "Answering the Call of Duty, joining the relief operations for the victims of [Typhoon Crising] and [habagat] in San Mateo, Rizal. Organized by GMA Kapuso Foundation," Ronnie wrote on Instagram Tuesday. In a video posted by GMA Kapuso Foundation on Wednesday, Ronnie was also seen in the foundation's relief distribution in Rodriguez, Rizal. Kairo Lazarte and Johann Nepomuceno, members of Sparkle's P-pop group Cloud 7, were also present in the activity. "We're very grateful po na kahit sa maliit na bagay nakakatulong po kami katulad po sa pamamahagi lang po, very thankful po kami na nabigyan po kami ng chance para po gawin ito at masaya po kami nakakatulong kami," Kairo shared. Meanwhile, Sparkle star John Vic De Guzman shared photos of himself and actress Tart Carlos at GMA Kapuso Foundation's relief packing activity. "We raise our hearts to YOU. With your mercy, we ask for your protection and miracle. Amen," John Vic wrote in the caption. Recently, the GMA Kapuso Foundation also brought assistance to affected communities in Valenzuela City and Quezon City. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Wednesday, more than 1.4 million people in the Philippines have been affected by tropical cyclone Crising, the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), and a low pressure area (LPA), with floods, landslides, collapsed structures, and tornadoes reported in several areas. The death toll due to Crising, the Habagat, and LPA also went up to seven. The fatalities were reported in Northern Mindanao, Mimaropa, Davao Region, Caraga, and Metro Manila. More rains are expected in the coming days, per PAGASA on Wednesday, with tropical storm Dante and tropical depression Emong enhancing the Habagat. For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Visit the GMA Kapuso Foundation website for more information. Here's also a list where you can send monetary and in-kind donations for those affected by the heavy rains. —CDC, GMA Integrated News
