Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 25 (ANI): Minister for Welfare of Backwards Classes, Kannada and Culture, Shivaraj Thangadgi, on Tuesday, visited renowned Kannada writer and former MLC Doddarange Gowda, who has been admitted to the ICU of Gleneagle BGS Hospital in Kengeri, and announced that the state government would cover all his medical expenses, according to the official statement.
Gowda, a respected figure in Karnataka's cultural landscape, has been undergoing treatment for a serious illness. Minister Thangadgi met the doctors who were treating him and received a detailed update on his health condition.
After the visit, the minister assured that the government would take full responsibility for his treatment. 'His medical expenses will be borne entirely by the government,' said Minister Thangadgi in the statement.
He also directed hospital authorities to provide all required medical facilities without delay.
The minister met Gowda's family members and offered words of support during the difficult time. 'Doddarange Gowda is an asset to the Kannada cultural world. I am very concerned about him. The government will provide him with all kinds of assistance,' he said. (ANI)

Speaking to reporters after the inspection, the Chief Minister said, 'Purvanchal Expressway and Maharshi Vishwamitra Medical College have become the identity of this district. Today, I have inspected an under-construction nursing college. Projects worth Rs 1,100 crores are either approved or are underway...' Earlier on Tuesday, CM Yogi participated in the 25th meeting of the Central Zonal Council, chaired by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. In a post on social media platform X, CM Yogi wrote, 'Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji has described 'cooperative and competitive federalism' as a powerful medium for the country's all-round development. In this context, today in Varanasi, I participated in the 25th meeting of the Central Zonal Council, chaired by the Honorable Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri @AmitShah ji' On Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also planted a sapling in Bhadohi under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign on the death anniversary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's Office informed that President Droupadi Murmu will visit Gorakhpur for the fourth time in seven years on the invitation of CM Yogi Adityanath. New Delhi [India], June 24 (ANI): President Droupadi Murmu will visit Gorakhpur on June 30 to attend the first convocation of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Gorakhpur, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said on Tuesday. This will mark the President's fourth visit to Gorakhpur in the past seven years, following an invitation extended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. According to the CMO, President Murmu will also inaugurate the state's first AYUSH University in Pipri, Bhathat, on July 1 during her two-day visit. Additionally, she is scheduled to visit the Gorakhnath Temple and offer prayers to Mahayogi Gorakhnath. In April, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that AIIMS Gorakhpur was steadily progressing and playing a key role in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India. 'AIIMS Gorakhpur is moving ahead on the path of progress; it is a matter of happiness. It is situated in the heart of eastern Uttar Pradesh. I am confident that we will be able to contribute to fulfilling Prime Minister Modi's vision, which he has seen by linking health services with the vision of a developed India,' the Chief Minister had said during his visit to Gorakhpur. CM Yogi laid the foundation stone for a 500-bed 'Powergrid Vishram Sadan' at AIIMS Gorakhpur. The rest house, aimed at supporting patients and their families, is being developed at a cost of Rs 44 crore under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of Power Grid Corporation of India. 'Today (April), to expand the healthcare facilities of the same AIIMS, Gorakhpur, I participated in the Bhoomi Pujan and foundation stone laying ceremony of the 500-bed 'Powergrid Vishram Sadan'. Congratulations to the people of the state and best wishes to the AIIMS family!' UP CM had posted on X. The Vishram Sadan will provide accommodation for up to 500 people visiting AIIMS Gorakhpur for medical treatment. (ANI)
