Pakistan's crushing 202-run defeat to West Indies in Tarouba on Tuesday has gone straight into the record books as one of their heaviest losses in men's ODI cricket.
The result came in the series decider, with West Indies sealing a 2-1 win, making it their first bilateral ODI series victory over Pakistan since 1991.
Shai Hope led from the front with an unbeaten century before pacer Jayden Seales ripped through Pakistan's batting with six wickets.

Chasing 295, Pakistan never got going. They lost three of their top four batters for ducks as Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique and captain Mohammad Rizwan departed inside the first three overs. By the ninth over, the score was 23 for 4. Seales dismissed Babar Azam for nine to make it 29 for 5, and the collapse continued.
Salman Agha's 30 was the top score in an innings that lasted just 29.2 overs.
This margin of defeat now sits fourth on the list of Pakistan's biggest losses in ODIs by runs. The unwanted record is still held by their 234-run thrashing against Sri Lanka in Lahore in January 2009.
Pakistan's heavy losses have come across different eras, from the 1992 England series to recent years, including the Asia Cup final defeat to India in 2023. The latest setback will sting even more as it came against a West Indies side that had been under pressure following a poor run across formats.

Cincinnati Bengals risk wasting Joe Burrow's prime amid Trey Hendrickson contract standoff

Trey Hendrickson's holdout could waste Joe Burrow's prime (Image via: Getty Images) The Cincinnati Bengals face a growing dilemma as star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson remains without a new contract. Despite attending practices and mentoring rookie first-round pick Shemar Stewart, Hendrickson isn't participating in team drills. With the season fast approaching, his absence from full action could prove costly for a team built to contend for a Super Bowl. Trey Hendrickson's contract dispute threatens Cincinnati Bengals ' defense Hendrickson has been one of the NFL's most dominant edge rushers over the past two seasons, racking up an impressive 17.5 sacks in each campaign. On the open market, his production would command well over $30 million annually, nearly double the $16 million he's set to earn this year. He's still under contract, leaving him to either wait out the Bengals or force a trade. ESPN analyst Louis Riddick didn't hold back on Get Up, criticizing Cincinnati's front office for letting the standoff linger. He warned that failing to secure key players like Hendrickson 'contributes to wasting the prime of franchise quarterback Joe Burrow' and puts the Bengals at risk of falling behind elite NFL contenders. Joe Burrow Disappointed With Bengals Offense, Discusses Trey Hendrickson & Shemar Stewart Holdouts Cincinnati must fix Hendrickson dispute to protect Joe Burrow 's prime and title hopes Burrow, already established as one of the league's best quarterbacks, has elite weapons in Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and promising running back Chase Brown. However, the defense's inconsistency last season, even with Hendrickson on the field, was a major factor in Cincinnati missing the playoffs. Without Hendrickson disrupting opposing quarterbacks, the Bengals' defense could become a glaring weakness once again. His ability to collapse pockets and generate game-changing plays is crucial to keeping Cincinnati in the conversation for the Super Bowl. With Joe Burrow, the Bengals have a rare franchise quarterback who can keep them in the Super Bowl hunt. But in the NFL, a quarterback's prime doesn't last forever, and championship windows close quickly. If Trey Hendrickson's contract standoff drags on, defensive weaknesses could once again derail Cincinnati's elite offensive potential. Also Read: Andy Reid's honest confession about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce as 'The Life of a Showgirl' album becomes NFL talking point Cincinnati must act decisively, whether that means extending Hendrickson's deal or finding a fair trade; they cannot afford to let this standoff derail their season. With Week 1 looming, every day without a resolution is a step closer to wasting the best years of Joe Burrow's career. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!

Kyle Dubas backs Auston Matthews amid the Toronto Maple Leafs' playoff backlash

Kyle Dubas (Image Via Twitter) The Toronto Maple Leafs' 2024-25 playoff run ended in an all-too-familiar way, a second-round exit at the hands of the Florida Panthers. Once again, the loss placed Auston Matthews, the captain, under intense scrutiny. Despite tallying 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) in 13 playoff games, Matthews appeared to seize the wrong moments that truly mattered. The extended lack of an Eastern Conference Finals appearance for the Leafs only made those criticisms hot again from the fans, reopening discussions about his postseason effectiveness. Kyle Dubas commends Auston Matthews' maturity Speaking on The Cam & Strick Podcast, the former Maple Leafs general manager, who is serving the same post for the Pittsburgh Penguins today, took exception to some of the appraisals. Kyle Dubas joins the show to talk core four, Mike Babcock, Pittsburghs future and more 'You've seen the evolution as a leader and the evolution on the defensive side as well. Of course, everyone knows about the goalscoring, but to see him named captain there, captain of Team USA, he puts a lot into his craft." Dubas remarked, stating that Matthews' development has much more to do with things outside his offensive numbers. He went further to explain that Matthews is not driven by external criticism but rather that 'I don't think any of the stuff that people talk about, the pressure, the market, his pressure is probably internal and trying to be at his absolute best, and you saw different steps that he took throughout his career.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Pierce Brosnan's Wife Lost 120 Pounds - This Is Her Now Undo According to Dubas, it has been a brush with growth throughout Matthews' career: 'He took constructive criticism well, especially as he got into his mid-20s, so it's been great to see him continue to evolve, and I hope that he gets back to 100 percent.' A challenging season for Auston Matthews The 2024-25 season parted ways from the usual production-wise for Auston Matthews, with him ending up with 33 goals against a staggering 69 just the year before. Dubas considered this not as a dip in performance but an upward, hard challenge, harder because expectations are higher for him. Also Read: Chad Ruhwedel announces retirement from NHL after a steady 11-year career Auston Matthews, 401 career regular-season goals, remains one of the NHL's top goal scorers. Therein lies some truth to what Dubas said: Matthews' legacy should not be judged by one playoff series but rather by his personal development into a better leader and well-rounded player.
