Overturned Perodua Alza found with stolen cables, no passengers

GERIK: Police are searching for a suspect who fled the scene of a crash after an overturned Perodua Alza revealed tools and stolen cut cables.
Gerik police chief Superintendent Abdul Samad Othman said police were alerted yesterday to an SUV that had skidded and overturned along Jalan Gerik-Kupang.
"There was no driver or passenger in the car (when police arrived)," Abdul Samad said when contacted, adding that the driver was believed to have been injured.
He said the Perodua Alza likely skidded on its own and hit a road barrier, causing it to overturn.
Abdul Samad said the case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.
The offence carries a maximum jail term of seven years, a fine, or both.
He urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist with the investigation.
