Odisha police question YouTuber Priyanka Senapati over links with ‘spy' Jyoti Malhotra
BHUBANESWAR: As Odisha Police stepped up investigation into the alleged links between Puri-based vlogger Priyanka Senapati and social media influencer Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested by Haryana Police for allegedly spying for Pakistan, it has come to the fore that the former had also visited the neighbouring country earlier this year.
Police have found that Priyanka had visited the Kartarpur Sahib Sikh shrine about three months back. The vlogger had shared the videos of her tour on her YouTube account. But it has been ascertained that she was not accompanied by Jyoti during the visit.
'It is being verified, if Priyanka had gone there alone or was accompanied by anyone else. Probe is underway to establish whether her trip was as a plain tourist or there was any other motive behind it,' Puri SP Vinit Agrawal said on Sunday.
Investigators visited her house within Puri Town police limits on Sunday and questioned her. Police said, Priyanka and Jyoti had been to various places in the country including Jammu and Kashmir together. The duo had visited Gulmarg last year. Priyanka had reportedly also visited Pahalgam, where 26 tourists were killed by terrorists on April 22, during the same time. They had also visited Kerala together in February this year. The videos and pictures have been uploaded on social media.

1 2 Pune: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday lauded the efforts of Pune-based Praj Industries for its contribution to biofuel generation and said the sector suffered due to the lack of a policy during the UPA-led govt's tenure. It was only after NDA formed govt in 2014 that did India start achieving 20% ethanol blending with petrol that could help save crores of rupees in foreign exchange, he said. "The period from 2009 to 2014 was a struggle not only for Praj Industries but for the entire country. Before that, during Atal Bihari Vajpayee's govt, he formed a committee to study ethanol blending and a decision was made for 5% blending with petrol. However, the subsequent govt failed to implement the decision effectively," he said in Pune. The CM further said whenever the demand to increase the ethanol blending percentage was raised (during the UPA tenure), some people would claim that a developing country like India could not afford it by compromising food security. "The scenario changed after 2014 when the NDA govt, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, brought changes in the policy to increase the percentage. The country has achieved 20% ethanol blending due to which India is saving crores of rupees in foreign exchange, which we would have to spend on importing fuel," Fadnavis said at an event organised to release a book written by the founder president of Praj Industries, Pramod Chaudhari.

These rackets had a far-reaching network supplying narcotics to several metropolitan cities, including Hyderabad. The investigation led to the arrest of Livio Joseph Almeida, a Goa resident, who was found to have an active clientele of 48 individuals from Hyderabad, regularly purchasing cocaine and MDMA. Alongside him, his associate Ubalanka Shankar from Hyderabad was also arrested last month. Livio admitted to sourcing drugs from local suppliers in Parra, which subsequently led to the arrest of another peddler, Benjamin Fosu, also from Parra. During interrogation, Fosu revealed that Nigerian drug networks were actively operating from other Goa hotspots such as Anjuna and Siolim. The TNANB's findings aligned with earlier arrests, including that of a DJ, Swadeep, in 2024, who was allegedly procuring drugs from Parra to sell at events. Similarly, in another case, a doctor was arrested for allegedly purchasing drugs from a dealer named Balakrishna. TGANB surveillance showed Balakrishna, a Mumbai resident, travelled discreetly to Hyderabad by private bus, blending in as a casual traveller. He used bike taxis and adopted a low-profile approach while delivering narcotics, including to the doctor, during seemingly routine meetings. Sources said this string of arrests underscores the evolving tactics of drug peddlers and the inter-state links between Goa-based cartels and urban consumers, particularly in Hyderabad.

May 22 morning, Shillong: They rented a two-wheeler on Keating Road in the morning and returned to Balaji Guest House. They checked out, skipping breakfast, and informed the manager they'd be back by May 25, or would call if they needed a room. May 22 evening, Mawlakhiat, East Khasi Hills: The couple arrived in Mawlakhiat village on a rented scooter. They trekked over 3,000 steps down the gorge to visit the famous living root bridges in Nongriat village, where they stayed the night, according to police. May 23, morning: Mawlakhiat, East Khasi Hills: The couple checked out of Shipara Homestay and returned to Mawlakhiat village unaccompanied by their guide. June 4, Sohra: A raincoat with blood stains — suspected to possibly belong to the missing tourist — was recovered near Mawkma Road, Sohra, and was sent for forensic testing. 'We recovered a wet raincoat. There are certain stains on it, but we cannot confirm if those are blood stains. Only forensic tests will determine that," East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem had said. The search for 27-year-old Sonam is still underway. Police have registered a murder case and are treating the circumstances with suspicion. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is leading the probe. 'We are investigating with an open mind, and all possibilities, including honour killing, are being explored," SP Syiem told CNN-News18. Raja's body has been sent to NEIGRIHMS, Shillong, for post-mortem examination. As the search for Sonam continues, investigators hope that the recovery of the dao and mobile phone will provide critical leads in unraveling the mystery behind the suspected double homicide.
