Princess Diana's niece just got engaged in Greece — see the ring

Lady Eliza Spencer said yes at a picture-perfect Santorini proposal, complete with candles, flowers, and a jaw-dropping view.
Lady Eliza Spencer, one of Princess Diana's glamorous nieces, is officially off the market — and her spectaculary Greek island engagement is the stuff royal-adjacent fairytales are made of.
Eliza, 33, announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Channing Millerd on Instagram, revealing that he popped the question in picture-perfect Santorini. The romantic seaside proposal included a flower- and candle-covered table overlooking the water, and, of course, the ring — a dazzling sparkler that immediately caught fans' attention when Eliza flashed it in the first photo of the carousel.
In the slideshow, Eliza beams with joy as she shows off her new ring, shares a kiss with her new fiancé, and kneels beside him in a playful, emotional moment. Her caption was just three words (and a heart emoji): 'Forever and ever."
Millerd, for his part, reshared the photos on his Instagram Stories, set to an instrumental version of 'Stand By Me.'
Among the first to comment was Eliza's twin sister, Lady Amelia Spencer, who wrote, 'The best news everrrrrrrr.' She quickly added a second comment: 'I couldn't be happier for you both! The BEST NEWS IN THE WORLD. I love you both with all my heart! The perfect couple and dream engagement.'
It's a romantic full-circle moment for the Spencer sisters. Eliza's twin, Amelia, married longtime love Greg Mallett in 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa. Now Eliza — the last of the Spencer sisters to get engaged — is likely next to walk down the aisle.
Lady Eliza is the youngest daughter of Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer — Princess Diana's brother — and the sister of Lady Kitty Spencer, who wed billionaire Michael Lewis in a lavish Italian ceremony in 2021. Their brother, Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp, is the heir to the Spencer family estate and title.
It's shaping up to be yet another stunning Spencer celebration — and roual fans will no doubt be watching for wedding details.

Michelin-Starred Chefs Host Beach Dinners At This Greek Paradise

Sunset at W Costa Navarino Adam Morganstern Normally to experience the cuisine of Chef Osman Sezener you would travel to Türkiye and visit either of his two Michelin-starred restaurants — Kitchen located in Bodrum and Od Urla located in İzmir. But this summer you could find him in Greece and the beaches of the Costa Navarino resort where Sezener participated in this summer's 'Chefs on the Beach' series of dinners — cooking over open fires with music and stunning sunset views over the Ionian Sea. Featuring a number of culinary all-stars from the region, 'Chefs on the Beach' kicked off in July with Chefs Giannis Loukakis and Spiros Pediaditakis from Akra in Athens (Michelin Bib Gourmand). Upcoming dinners feature Chef Maksut Askar of Istanbul's Neolokal — awarded both a Michelin Star and a Michelin 'Green Star' for its commitment to sustainable practices — Chef Manolis Papoutsakis from Athens' Pharaoh (Michelin Bib Gourmand) and Chef Tasos Stefatos, who's worked across many of Greece's top Michelin-starred restaurants and is now Executive Chef of Canaves Collection hotel group in Santorini. Chef Nikos Billis Courtesy of Costa Navarino Located in Messinia in the southwestern part of the Peloponnese, Costa Navarino is a collection of four different five-star resorts: the W Costa Navarino, Mandarin Oriental, The Westin and The Romanos. Each have their own charm and vibe — think of W and Mandarin Oriental for more adult and couples-oriented vacations and The Westin and The Romanos more for families — but all have the beaches, pools and dining you would expect at a Greek resort. The destination also includes some of the best golf courses in the country as well as a tennis center and other sports camps. But even beyond the 'Chefs on the Beach' series, there are enough restaurants and dining opportunities between the different properties to make this a culinary destination as well as a beach vacation. After working at some of the world's top restaurants, including Noma and De Librije, Chef Nikos Billis has returned to his native Greece to take over as Executive Chef at W Costa Navarino. Set along the beach, the restaurant Parelia offers the best of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine with local seafood and meat dishes cooked over wood-fires. Dining here can be a dressy romantic evening or a relaxing collection of mezze while sipping wine and enjoying the water views. Green Pepper offers vegetarian dining and healthier meals for lunch and dinner. And the resort has partnered with Athens-based The Bar In Front Of The Bar — one of the World's 50 Best Bars — to take over cocktails. Courtesy of Costa Navarino Parelia at Costa Navarino Navarino Dunes — where The Westin and The Romanos are situated — offers a collection of restaurants to try a different cuisine every night of your stay. Top choice here would be The Flame, a steakhouse featuring locally sourced meat and vegetables from their own gardens. They kindly give the vegetables equal billing in the restaurant's 'Homegrown Meat and Vegetables' tagline, but you know why you're really here. For elevated local cuisine there is Paráfrasi by CTC — an outpost of the Michelin-starred restaurant in Athens by Chef Alexandros Tsiotinis. Armyra is the best of seafood and fish offerings, run by chef Yorgos Papaioannou, widely respected for his seafood restaurants across Greece. Onuki for a Japanese dinner and Da Luigi for Italian are great for those enjoying a long stay and wanting to change things up. And for not-to-be-missed simple pleasures there is Souvlakerie which serves the perfect traditional souvlaki and wine and olive oil tasting at Eno Teca. Mandarin Oriental Ormos Beach Club Courtesy of Costa Navarino The area of Messinia is steeped in historical sights within easy drives from the resort and worth venturing off the grounds for. At the town of Pylos you can visit the castle of Niokastro (New Fortress) which was built by the Ottomans in 1573 overlooking the sea, and if you're in the mood for a hike you can also visit the Palaiokastro (Old Fortress) built in 1278. From up top you get a fantastic view of Voidokilia Beach — also worth visiting — which is shaped like the Greek letter Omega (and a popular place for photos). Methoni Castle (from 1229) is another popular site, and for truly stepping back into ancient times the Palace of Nestor dates as far back as the Trojan War and is mentioned in both Homer's Iliad and Odyssey.

A couple went to Africa on their 5th date. Now they're engaged, and the bride-to-be has a custom ring that nods to that trip.

Natasha Gabbayan, 29, and Josh Banayan, 36, have been together since 2023. Banayan recently proposed at their first-date spot with a standout engagement ring he designed. The ring nods to a trip the couple took to Africa and their relationship overall. California natives Natasha Gabbayan and Josh Banayan weren't completely sold on each other after their first four dates. Still, they had a connection. So Banayan did what anyone in his position would: he asked Gabbayan to travel with him to Cape Town for the wedding of a childhood friend. She said yes. "We fell in love in Africa," Banayan, a business owner, told Business Insider. "It was a crazy, five-day experience." They danced, got to know each other, and even went on a safari in Namibia. "It was funny because there were four other couples on that safari with us," he said. "Three were celebrating their honeymoon, one of them was proposing there, and then it was us. We were like, 'Yeah, we kind of just met.'" They've been together since that 2023 trip and are now celebrating their own engagement. Gabbayan's standout ring even has a special tie to that early trip overseas. Playing the long game Banayan, 36, made a plan earlier this year to ensure Gabbayan, 29, would never suspect he was about to propose. Four months in advance, he scheduled a weekly dinner reservation at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood, where they had their first date. "We called it Tower Tuesdays," he said. "I'd call her an Uber, and I'd already be there. We'd get drinks and treat it like our first date." Gabbayan describes her partner as a "big planner," so she never considered that the recurring dates might be a ruse. When she arrived one Tuesday in June and was led to a suite, however, she knew something was up. "My heart started racing and I kind of blacked out a little from excitement," she said. A violinist performed Gabbayan's favorite songs as she walked in, and Banayan launched into "a five-minute speech." Though she doesn't remember it, Gabbayan knows she said yes when he asked her to marry him. They spent the rest of their night having a private dinner in their suite, enjoying the same dishes they had on their first date, like pigs in a blanket. The couple also wore matching pajamas, filmed family videos on Banayan's childhood camcorder, and signed a bottle of Blue Label scotch, which they hope will be the first drink they share with their future children. A one-of-a-kind ring to match a special love story Banayan told nearly no one that he was going to propose. He called his parents that morning and asked Gabbayan's father for permission to marry her two hours before their scheduled date. He also didn't seek help when designing his bride-to-be's engagement ring. "I have this philosophy that a man, if he's asking a woman to marry him, should know exactly what ring she wants," Banayan said. "He shouldn't have to take hints or have the girl tell him." "Marriage and relationships are all about listening, especially as a man," he added. "Just listen to the woman, and you should know." Gabbayan, who owns a vintage clothing brand, admitted to being "so nervous" about giving up creative control. "I want to say I had faith, but I didn't have that much faith," she said. But Banayan did his research. For months, he monitored Gabbayan's personal style and the jewelry accounts she follows on Instagram. His final design included two attached gold bands — representing the couple being a team — with their birthstones, a ruby and an aquamarine, hidden inside the ring's band. A vintage-inspired cushion-cut diamond sits on top. "When I'm looking at her rock, her birthstone on the bottom is facing me because she always comes first," Banayan said. "And when she's looking at her ring, my stone is facing her because I always come first to her." The ring was also crafted by Banayan's childhood friend, who now works in the diamond industry — the same friend who got married in Africa and brought the couple together. "It's really who I am and exactly what I like," Gabbayan said of her ring. "He really hit it right on the nail, without me even realizing that's something that I would've wanted. I couldn't have described it better if I wanted to." With a ring on her hand and a wedding to plan, Gabbayan said she's woken up every day since her proposal with a smile on her face. "I know that I'll look at this ring 50 years from now and remember that he spent four months designing and picking out every detail," she said. "I can buy myself a ton of jewelry, but an engagement ring is supposed to be sentimental and remind you of your person." All that's left for the couple to do now is get married. Growing together: The success of Instagram collab posts

Since its launch in October 2021, Instagram's 'collab' feature has quietly revolutionized how creators and brands share content. The tool now allows up to six users to 'collaborate' or co-author a single post or Reel. The content appears on each user's profile as if they posted it themself, but shares likes, comments, and other interactions between all included accounts. Collaborative posts have also become a powerful tool to increase engagement and fuel follower growth. WHY DO COLLAB POSTS WORK? Collab posts are special because they open an opportunity to reach farther than before. When two accounts publish together, a post becomes double exposed. The post reaches two audiences that don't fully overlap, capturing the attention of a larger net of users. Additionally, engagement on one post coming from two (or more) sides rapidly multiplies the power of the post and works as a signal for Instagram's algorithm to give it a further lift. Collabs also work because they reflect connections between accounts. Whether it's a brand teaming up with a creator or two creators co-promoting a project, joint authorship signals partnership, authenticity, and shared work with followers. HOW BRANDS CAN USE INSTAGRAM COLLABS Brands can use Collabs to: Co-launch products Announce partnerships Spotlight user-generated content Run giveaways or challenges Collaborate with other brands in the same space From a brand perspective, a good approach to the Collab is to partner with creators who already speak to your target demographic or a peripheral demographic that might not make sense for you to post about but would gain value from your brand. This way, your audience and theirs blend together, and each of you reap the benefits of marrying the two. This works well instead of relying solely on paid promotion because the Collab feature gives both parties more visibility and provides mutual benefit. EXAMPLES OF SUCCESS An example of an amazing use of the Collab feature is from Ebay. Ebay collaborated on a Reel with influencer and fashion icon Emma Chamberlain. The post, shared between Emma's and Ebay's Instagram accounts, generated upwards of 1.4 million views, higher than any of Ebay's other short-form video content. It was able to reach loyal Ebay-ers and Emma's lasting fan base, only some of which may overlap. Smaller brands are also finding success. Small accounts using Collabs can see increases in impressions and follower growth, especially when tapping into niche or regional influencers. For example, Oatly, a popular alternative milk brand, partnered with Good News Coffee, a coffee shop chain popular in Europe. Through this collaborative post announcing that Oatly milk is now available in Good News Coffee cafés, Oatly lovers are introduced to Good News cafés and Good News go-ers are exposed to Oatly's brand. FINAL THOUGHTS Overall, Instagram Collab posts offer a win-win. They allow more reach, more engagement, and more authenticity. For brands looking to stay relevant in a busy, fast-paced feed, the key may not be doing more alone, but growing together.
