Academy Museum to Host Large-Scale Bong Joon Ho Exhibition
Korean entertainment giant CJ ENM, the studio famously behind Bong Joon Ho's multi-Oscar-winning Parasite, has signed a three-year pact with the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures to boost Asian cinema's presence in Hollywood.
The agreement's first initiative, spearheaded under CJ ENM's support, will be the world's first museum exhibition dedicated to Bong's work. Opening March 23 and titled 'Director's Inspiration: Bong Joon Ho,' the exhibition will be comprised of more than 100 original items, including storyboards, research materials, film posters, concept art, creature designs, props and on-set photographs. The project will also include an exhibition space featuring a creative workspace filled with various objects that inspired Bong's films as well as an accompanying retrospective screening series of his movies themselves.

'This partnership aims to expand the presence of not only Korean but also outstanding Asian films in mainstream Hollywood, building on CJ ENM's success in leading Korean cinema's global advancement,' the museum and studio said Sunday in a joint statement.
CJ vice chairwoman Miky Lee has been a supporter of the Academy Museum since joining its Board of Trustees in 2019. She also served as vice chair of the museum's board, and she was honored with the Pillar Award at the 2022 Academy Museum Gala in recognition of her leadership and contributions.
'We're so thankful to Academy Museum Trustee Miky Lee and CJ ENM for their support of the Academy Museum and dedication to showcase Korean Cinema in our galleries and programming,' said Academy Museum director and president Amy Homma. ''Director's Inspiration: Bong Joon Ho' will give our visitors insight and a deepened understanding of Bong's creative processes, and we are excited to continue to share in-depth explorations of Korean stories in the future through this partnership.'
Added a representative from CJ ENM: 'Since 1995, we have worked tirelessly for 30 years to promote the value and status of Korean cinema. Through this partnership, we hope to contribute to the successful global establishment of Asian creators who possess both distinctive artistry and mass appeal.'

'I'm usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27,' Sweeney recounted. 'My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! I was like, 'Oh my God.'' Still, the Emmy nominee didn't mind the shift in physical appearance. 'It was amazing: I was so strong, like crazy strong,' she added. Martin is regarded as one of the most prolific female boxers of all time, beginning her career in 1989 before she retired in 2012. She won the WBC female super welterweight world champion title in 2009 and is the only female boxer to cover Sports Illustrated. Martin nearly died in 2010 when her husband, Jim Martin, stabbed her and shot her in the chest. After surviving the murder attempt, Jim was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Unlike ramen, the noodles aren't made with egg, and therefore are vegan-friendly. Stuffed has savory and sweet dumplings that can be steamed, pan-fried or deep-fried. Bop bop is a build-your-own rice bowl stall with several protein and topping options. & Coffee serves coffee, espresso, tea and specialty drinks, plus pastries like homemade mochi doughnuts, croffles (croissant + waffles) and bingsoo (shaved ice topped with fresh fruit). LaBARatory is a craft brewery and soju distillery with an adjacent event space. SUPER is a Japanese 7/11-style market, offering specialty snacks, drinks, onigiri, bento boxes and other grab-and-go options. ‘Ginny & Georgia' Season 3 Debuts Strong With 17.6 Million Views on Netflix
Tyler Perry's 'Straw' and 'Ginny & Georgia' Season 3 led the week of June 2 on Netflix. The thriller was the most-watched title of the week with 25.3 million views, while the third season of the Netflix original saw 17.6 million views. Written, produced and directed by Perry, 'Straw' stars Taraji P. Henson, Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor and Sinbad. It marks the filmmaker's latest collaboration with Netflix following 'Beauty in Black,' 'Mea Culpa' and 'A Fall from Grace.' The second most-watched English-language movie of the week was the 2013 magic heist thriller 'Now You See Me,' which secured 4.9 million views. That was followed by the children's romp 'The Bee Movie' in third place (4.8 million views), the beloved cult thriller 'M3GAN' in fourth place (3.8 million views) and the biographical comedy-drama 'Nonnas' in fifth place (3.2 million views). On the television side of Netflix, people didn't just watch Season 3 of 'Ginny & Georgia.' Q' climbed to the second most-watched spot during its second week, securing 8.9 million views, and the dark comedy 'Sirens' came in third place with 7.9 million views. The third most-watched category for the week was non-English movies, a subset that was led by the Spanish crime thriller 'A Widow's Game,' which secured 16.6 million views. That was followed in second place by the French martial arts drama 'K.O.' (14 million views) and third place by the Argentinian romantic drama 'The Heart Knows' (9.4 million views). As for non-English language television, the Italian crime drama 'Sara: Woman in the Shadows' led the pack with 6.1 million views. That was followed closely by the Korean limited series 'Mercy for None,' which saw 4.9 million views. The third most-watched title of the week was the Korean rom-com and limited series 'Tastefully Yours,' which saw 3.5 million views.
