The University of Delhi (DU) released the Common Simulated Ranks for undergraduate admissions on July 15 at 5:00 pm. The ranks are now available on candidates' dashboards and are based on the preferences submitted till July 14, to data shared by the university, BCom (Hons.) has emerged as the most sought-after programme, drawing 48,336 first preferences, followed by BA (Hons.) Political Science with 15,295 and (Hons.) Zoology with 12,722 integrated technical programmes, BTech (Hons.) Mathematics and Humanities received 10,584 preferences, while BCom (general) followed with 8, EDITING NOW OPEN In terms of colleges, Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) led the list, receiving 38,795 first preferences. It was followed by Hindu College with 31,901, Hansraj College with 15,902, St. Stephen's College with 12,413, and Miranda House with 11, BA programmes, combinations of humanities subjects were the most preferred. BA (History + Political Science) topped the list with 7,60,233 preferences, followed by BA (Economics + Political Science) at 3,88,407, and BA (English + Economics) at 3,49, Humanities-based programmes were chosen by 58.89% of candidates, Commerce-based programmes by 20.89%, and Science-based programmes by 20.22%.The university has recorded over 5.75 crore (5,75,80,700) total Programme + College preferences across 1,549 unique combinations, reflecting the scale of participation and competition in this year's the announcement of Simulated Ranks, DU has re-opened the preference-editing window for candidates. ICICI Lombard net profit zooms 47.6% to Rs 746.6 crore on motor segment growth
MUMBAI: ICICI Lombard General Insurance has reported a net profit of Rs 746.6 crore in the June quarter, up a strong 47.6% from Rs 505.9 crore in the same period a year ago, as the company had lower claims and higher premium collection from the staple motor segment. The surge was primarily driven by higher investment income and a recovery in underwriting performance, particularly in the motor segment, the company said in a statement Tuesday. Gross written premium during the quarter inched up 1.5% to Rs 805 crore from Rs 793 crore in the same quarter last year, while net written premium rose to Rs 561 crore, up 4.7% from Rs 536 crore and the net premium earned came in at Rs 513.6 crore, up 14%. Total income surged to Rs 608 crore in Q1 from Rs 535 crore, bolstered by a sharp rise in investment income. Net income from investments increased to Rs 94.3 crore, up 11.6 percent from Rs 84.45 crore.

Turkey, Pak revise $900-million drone deal after setback against India
In a bid to explore more advanced UAV systems to improve precision-strike and surveillance capabilities, Turkey and Pakistan are restructuring a USD 900 million drone deal following operational failures against India during Operation Sindoor, sources new arrangement seeks to boost both countries' drone and munition capabilities with advanced systems.
