Bisalpur Dam sees sharp rise in water level, boost for Jaipur, Tonk and Ajmer
The water level increased from 312.45 metres on June 18 to 313.73 metres by Saturday evening.
Manish Bansal, executive engineer of Bisalpur Dam, told TOI, this year's early inflow is unusual, as the dam typically sees a major rise after July 15. "The catchment is receiving good water consistently, and progress so far is very encouraging," he said.
Currently holding 561.005 million cubic metres of water, Bisalpur is expected to reach full capacity if the inflow continues.
Authorities remain optimistic, with around 60 days of the monsoon still ahead.
Other reservoirs across Rajasthan, especially in the Kota region, are also nearing full capacity, with many already above 90%. The overall trend points to a strong water supply season for the region.
"Two dams—Rana Pratap Sagar and Jawahar Sagar—are 94.52% and 97.58% filled, and still, a good amount of water is arriving from their catchment areas," said an officer with the water resources department.

Authorities said that all the major dams in the state are likely to get substantial water in this monsoon season. Rain-fed local rivers such as Katli in Jhunjhunu and Bandi River in Pali received plenty of water this year. "We have at least 50 smaller rivers in various villages across the state, which all have got water in them," said an officer.
Also, more than 31 dams across the state are now 90% filled, and the whole monsoon season is still left. "Usually, the state gets monsoon rainfall till September 15, and so far, rainfall has been beneficial for the dams," said an officer with the water resources department.

CM conducts aerial survey of 4 flood-hit dists
1 2 Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Thursday conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of Vaishali , Patna, Begusarai and Munger, and directed the DMs of all affected districts as well as disaster management department to provide flood relief as per the standard operating procedure (SOP). The CM also asked the water resources department officials to remain alert with regard to any emerging emergency flood situation. Accompanied by his principal secretary Deepak Kumar, secretaries Anupam Kumar and Kumar Ravi, as well as disaster management secretary Chandrashekhar Singh, he surveyed the marooned Raghopur block in Vaishali; and Kala Diara, Rupas Mahaji, Ramangar, Kasaha Diara, Mokama, Barh and Fatuha in Patna, besides Begusarai and Munger districts. Early morning tremors trigger panic in Vikarabad
1 2 Hyderabad: Tremors were felt in Parigi mandal of Vikarabad district early Thursday morning following an earthquake. Locals reported that the tremors lasted for at least four seconds, shaking parts of Basireddypalli, Rangapur, Qutbullapur and Nyamathnagar villages. Startled residents rushed out of their houses and stood on the roads, keeping a safe distance from buildings. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake measured 3.1 on the Richter scale and occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres. The tremor was recorded at 3.56 am. No damage to property or loss of life was reported immediately. Vikarabad district collector Prateek Jain and superintendent of police K Narayana Reddy visited the affected villages and interacted with residents to gather first-hand account of their experience.
