Channel Island Dog of the Year has 'fabulous' time at Crufts
The Channel Island Dog of the Year had a "fabulous" time at Crufts 2025 despite going unplaced in her class. Mika, a three-year-old Tibetan Terrier from Guernsey, won the prestigious Channel Island title in February at the Trinity Royal Showground in Jersey. Her win meant she qualified for Crufts 2025's open female class, which her owner Paige Le Moignan described as "the big girl's class". Ms Le Moignan, vice-president of the Guernsey Kennel Club, said: "It was hectic but it was an absolute fabulous time. This time, unfortunately, it wasn't her year as she didn't place."
She added: "There were a lot of international dogs that had come over. She was looked at by the judge constantly."I was not envious of the judge at all in that class. I don't envy having to pick the choices." Ms Le Moignan said travelling from Guernsey to the show in Birmingham was "a lot" for her but Mika was "so chilled out".
"The only time Mika is ever awake is if she wants a treat or if she needs the bathroom," she said. "People say don't they have to travel up in cages but they've actually got way more room than we've got. "They've got their treats, their food, their water - everything they could need."

Yet another viewer confessed: "The programme has barely started and I'm already crying. I'm rooting for you all #ThePiano." The Piano contestant revealed that she was fulfilled her life-long dream Viewers were deeply moved by Diana's stunning performance on 'The Piano', with one fan commenting: "So moved by Diana's beautiful performance, so many tears #ThePiano.
