Located at Pier Point Bar and Restaurant close to Torquay marina, the Pier Point fish and chip shop gained the award at the Fishermen's Mission Awards.
The Fisherman's Mission is a charity which fights poverty in UK fishing communities by providing support to fishermen and their families.
The winning Devon spot offers a smaller menu to ensure each portion of fish and chips served is quality.
In addition, the chippy is committed to using fish from sustainable resources.
In fact, all of the fish sold at Pier Point Chippy, including cod, haddock and plaice, is MSC certified - which means it comes from well-managed, sustainable fisheries.
Classics at the chippy include cod for £10.60, lighter bite code for £7.40, haddock for £10.60, battered fillet of hake for £9.80 and an ultimate fish sarnie with cod, served in a brioche bun with homemade tartar sauce for £8.60.
The eatery also has a number of specials including salt and pepper squid for £7.60 and battered tiger prawns for £8.25.
They also serve a couple of veggie and vegan options.
Owner Lorraine Arnold told Torbay Today: "It was a complete surprise and humbling. It's because we were nominated by them. They decided. It was from the country.
"This one is special, sweet. It is a lovely recognition for myself and the team and for all the money we have raised."
The Trelawney Hotel in Torquay, Devon is among the chepeates places to stay in the UK, as rated by Tripadvisor
Lorraine added that the recognition is also about giving back to the community.
Nearby, over in Brixham, south Devon and west country fish restaurant chain Rockfish were also handed the Outstanding Achievement Award.
Both Pier Point and Rockfish have raised thousands for the Fisherman's Mission charity in recent years too.
Pier Point Chippy is located in the bustling town of Torquay, which sits on the English Riviera.
A few steps from the chippy is a pier and marina, home to a boat brokerage, boat sales, jet ski rides, a coastal RIB 'seafari' and a number of restaurants and bars.
In the opposite direction, visitors will find a long stretching sandy beach set just off a road with plenty of parking.

Also, on the other side of the road is an open park area, where families can retreat to when the tide comes in.
Holidaymakers looking to make the most of the region's seafood scene should head to Torquay between September 26 and October 12 for England 's Seafood Feast.
Across two weeks, the English Riviera celebrates local seafood with over 40 species featured.
The celebration includes tasting menus and seafood-inspired events from chefs.
The Sun's Lisa Minot recently visited the English Riviera and tested out some of its food spots.
Plus, this map reveals Britain's best fish and chip shops where you can pick up an award-winning supper for as little as £1.80.

ITV 'axes huge Andi Peters and Jeff Brazier perk' in latest cost-cutting

The days of seeing ITV stars Andi Peters and Jeff Brazier flown off to exotic locations to promote competitions for the broadcaster are over - according to reports. Both Andi, 54, and Jeff, 46, would often pop up in some far flung location, encouraging viewers to try their luck and be in with a chance of winning thousands of pounds on shows, including Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women. However, money is now a sticky subject at ITV after it announced a string of cuts to its Daytime offerings before staff at the broadcaster were hit with news that there would be redundancies ahead. As a result, ITV will, reportedly, no longer be shelling out for presenters such as Andi and Jeff to sun themselves on sun-kissed beaches while working for the broadcaster in its latest cost-cutting exercise. ITV launches brand new channel amid daytime cuts and redundancies This year alone, Andi has broadcast from the Maldives, Australia, Cape Town, and Florida while Jeff has jetted off to Thailand, Sri Lanka and Malta, which according to insiders, has 'irritated' production staff who have since been told their roles are at risk. Speaking to the Mail, a source said: "ITV has scaled back on sending top talent overseas to present their competition segments. The competitions themselves, which give viewers the chance to win six figure sums and idyllic holidays, bring in a great deal of revenue, but constantly flying the likes of Andi and Jeff to the Maldives and South Africa was starting to frustrate staff and viewers alike. "It was decided that they would dial down for a few weeks after the budget cuts were announced and no one has flown overseas to present the competitions since. "As well as there being a backlash online from disgruntled viewers, it was felt continuing to send talent abroad to luxurious holiday destinations as others are losing their jobs would be in bad taste." Indeed, some viewers did take to social media after it was announced that Lorraine Kelly's self-titled programme will be cut in half next year, to just half an hour a day and will only air 30 weeks of the year. Meanwhile, Loose Women will keep its hour show - but again, it will be cut to just 30 out of 52 weeks a year. Claiming the channel would save money if it didn't keep paying for Andi to be shipped off to yet another picture-postcard location, one fan posted: "If ITV really wanted to save money they would stop sending Andi Peters to Mauritius or the rings of Saturn every time they have a competition." ITV hasn't featured an exotic location for one of its competitions since May 19 when Lisa Snowdon hosted a segment from Cyprus for This Morning, which coincided with their official announcement of budget cuts and job losses. Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV's Media and Entertainment Division, announced the changes last month, where he had said the changes were necessary to "generate savings". However, sources have told The Mirror some shows face a 'death spiral' saying:"It's not a case of viewers seeing less of their shows… it's impossible to see how the high standards will remain the same. Some staff believe Loose Women and Lorraine in particular will enter a death spiral… it's just so sad. Just a handful of people will be working on each of those two programmes which has huge ramifications for how they are going forward." When contacted by the Mirror, ITV declined to comment.

Lorraine Kelly teases new project as co-star asks 'where have you been'

Lorraine Kelly, 65, was quizzed by her ITV co-star Ross King on Monday's show after she returned to the programme following a brief absence as she addressed her whereabouts Lorraine Kelly found herself explaining her recent absence from her ITV chat show during Monday's episode. In the latest segment, Lorraine, 65, shared with her audience: "Our Ross is in Los Angeles for us, later Ross. Crikey, it's tough times over there..." ‌ Ross King, reporting live from LA, chimed in: "It certainly is, real tough times, terrible rioting. I'll tell you more about that later." ‌ He then inquired: "Apart from all that, what about you, where have you been?" Lorraine replied: "Oh I've been in the far north, I've been so far north I nearly came back on myself. I'll tell you all about it. "I sadly can't say too much about it now. In a few weeks, I might be able to give you more hints. I can even show you some photos, it was life changing and amazing. I'll phone you later and tell you all about it." This follows Lorraine's announcement earlier in the month where she told fans and viewers: "BIG FILMING ADVENTURES!!!! Heading to the very far north - it's going to be amazing - see you in a week's time! #happy #arctic #filming #adventures #exploration #joy", sharing she would be having a brief break from Lorraine. The conversation comes amid ITV's announcement last month of significant changes to the scheduling and production of its daytime programmes, which include a major revamp for Lorraine's show. ‌ From January 2026, Good Morning Britain will be extended by half an hour to run from 6am to 9.30am daily, and will be produced by ITV News at ITN at their Gray's Inn Road base in London. Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will still be produced by ITV Studios and will be broadcast from a new location in central London. ‌ In the 2026 daytime schedule for ITV, Lorraine will air from 9.30am to 10am, on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year which aligns with the lead daytime presenters who host their shows around a seasonal pattern rather than throughout the year. During the weeks when Lorraine is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am. This Morning will keep its 10am to 12.30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year, while Loose Women will occupy the 12.30 to 1.30pm slot, again on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year - the schedule it held for over a decade until 2016.

Bridge of Allan mum reveals what it was like behind the scenes on Location, Location, Location

A Bridge of Allan mum has revealed what it was like behind the scenes on popular TV property show Location, Location, Location. Lorraine Macleod starred on Wednesday's episode of the Channel 4 programme with her daughter Emma Carman. Hosts Phil Spencer and Kirstie Allsopp were trying to help the pair – who were living with Lorraine's parents – find a new home on a budget of £275,000. Despite offering well above the asking price for a cottage in Torbrex, Lorraine and Emma lost out on that house. However, a few weeks later, they bought a 'perfect' three-bedroom townhouse in Bridge of Allan for £255,000. Lorraine, 48, told The Courier that her mum convinced her to apply to be on Location, Location, Location. She said: 'We were struggling to find a property, and we were living at my mum and dad's place at that point and had been for around six months. 'Mum is a particularly huge fan of the show, and she said, 'You qualify, you're chain-free, you could do this'. 'I think it was her way of saying, 'Please leave!'' From there, it took months of screening to be approved to go on the Channel 4 show. The Stirling episode was filmed around a year ago. Lorraine told The Courier that about 90 properties were looked at before the final four were selected for the pair to view. It was also a huge surprise when Lorraine's daughter, Meg, returned from Australia. She and Emma had prioritised a three-bedroom property in their search so that the 24-year-old would have a place to stay when she got back to Stirling. Lorraine said: 'They were looking to get hold of Meg to include her by doing filming with her over Zoom while she was still in Australia. 'It wasn't working out and we weren't getting the timings right, etc, but actually, as it turned out, she was paying us a surprise visit and on her way home. 'That's why we couldn't get her. 'It was a bit of a shock when she walked through the door.' Meg returned to Australia in January and is 'living her best life' at Bondi Beach. Location, Location, Location also inspired Emma, 20, to start working for an estate agent alongside her law studies. While the pair lost out on the Torbrex cottage, the mum-of-two says it 'wasn't meant to be'. Lorraine said: 'We ended up with an incredible property that's really perfect in Bridge of Allan. 'What's for you won't go by you.' Lorraine says she is grateful to be close to her sister, who has young children, and to have a thriving high street on her doorstep. Meeting Phil and Kirstie was also a highlight for Lorraine. She added: 'They're really nice people. 'We thoroughly enjoyed being part of it. 'I would definitely recommend it if anybody else was looking for a little bit of help in that direction.'
