BBC Strictly's Wynne Evans shares engagement news after huge show heartbreak
BBC Strictly 's Wynne Evans has received huge congratulations after announcing his engagement to long-term partner Liz Brookes. The Welsh tenor disclosed that he had asked for Liz's hand in marriage during a romantic Moroccan getaway. Sharing the news on social media, Wynne posted: "Big news... I got engaged!" alongside an image showing the glinting engagement ring and the couple celebrating with champagne. Another snap captured the moment Wynne knelt to pose the big question to Liz. Wynne, 53, penned on social media: "This weekend in Morocco, somewhere between the couscous, the camels, and me limping around the souks like a man with no spatial awareness, I proposed to Liz - and she said yes! (No take-backs, I've checked)." Continuing with humour and affection, he quipped: "She's clever, she's kind, she's got excellent taste in men. Absolutely no idea how I pulled that off, but here we are! Feeling very lucky, very happy, and just a tiny bit smug." The well-wishes quickly poured in as reported by the Manchester Evening News, with one person exclaiming: "Congratulations, some happy news after a tough start to the year." The sentiment was echoed by another who commented: "Aaaaw - lovely news! Congratulations to you both!". Others expressed their joy, with someone else saying: "So so pleased for you both, everything is on the up." Another added: "Congratulations to you both, lovely news after a challenging year." Lastly, one fan rejoiced: "Absolutely wonderful." Elsewhere, Wynne has spoken out about his 'spit roast' remark that sparked a Strictly Come Dancing controversy, describing the ordeal as 'heartbreaking'. In an exclusive with The Sun, the Strictly celebrity insisted he's not a 'misogynist' after apologising for 'inappropriate' language at a photo-call for the Strictly tour earlier this year. Wynne, famed for his appearances in adverts, was caught on video making sexual comments to a woman during the launch of the Strictly tour. The BBC Radio Wales host explained that the comment was actually a nickname for his colleague, EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick, refuting claims it was a lewd remark aimed at presenter Janette Manrara. In his conversation with The Sun on Sunday in May, he clarified: "I didn't see the statement. Old Spit-roast Boy was a nickname for Jamie Borthwick. I'm not a bad guy, I'm not a misogynist, I'm not any of these things. "It's been heartbreaking. 'Spit-roast boy' was a nickname we all gave Jamie Borthwick because he could contort his legs over his head like a spit-roast chicken. "But it absolutely wasn't meant sexually – and the fact I used 'boy', all right it's nuanced, but it shows I was talking to Jamie, not Janette." Last month, Wynne disclosed that his annual rolling contract with BBC Radio Wales was not renewed after a four-month probe into the comment.

Katie Price makes surprising comment about ex Peter Andre's wife Emily – despite not speaking to him after split
KATIE Price has made a surprise comment about her ex Peter Andre's new wife despite admitting she doesn't speak to him following their split. The famous couple called it quits in 2009 and no longer communicate with one another. 6 6 6 But in a rare comment, Katie has praised Peter's new wife, GP Emily Andre and expressed her feelings about her ex having found someone new. Katie and Peter share two children together - Princess and Junior - and whilst his love life has been steady with Emily ever since, Katie has been divorced twice more with a string of failed engagements under her belt. But now Katie has admitted she is glad Peter married Emily as she aired her thoughts on their romance during an interview with Katherine Ryan. She spoke to Katherine on her podcast, What's My Age Again, where she shared her thoughts on the couple who have just celebrated a decade of marriage. Katie told Katherine: "I'm glad he's with Emily. Katie Price reveals what she REALLY thinks of ex-husband Peter Andre's wife Emily - after admitting she and the Mysterious Girl singer don't speak anymore
Katie Price has revealed exactly what she thinks about her ex-husband Peter Andre 's wife Emily. Glamour model Katie, 47, and the Mysterious Girl singer, 52, enjoyed a marriage of four years after falling in love while in the I'm A Celebrity jungle in 2004. They went on to have two children together - Junior, 19, and Princess, 17 - but announced their split in 2009. Katie has since walked down the aisle, and been divorced, twice while Peter found love with NHS doctor Emily. They celebrated a decade of marriage this year and share three children - Amelia, 11, Theo, nine and twelve-month-old Arabella. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. In a new interview, Peter's ex-wife Katie revealed she's happy he has since moved on and found love again. During an appearance on comedian Katherine Ryan's What's My Age Again Podcast, the 47-year-old said: 'I'm glad he's with Emily. She seems like a proper lady. I think it'd be weird if he went for someone like me.' She also added that her daughter Princess was left baffled after seeing her dad Peter's new wife. 'She says, "You're just so nuts mum. When I see you and Emily, you're just so different. I can't imagine you and dad." 'I said, "I was with your dad six years. Trust me, we had a laugh and bantered together, we did." 'She said, "I just can't imagine dad being like that." I said "But he was, he was like that. We had a laugh." 'And you know, she can't believe that whenever he went anywhere or me, we were together with the kids. And we'd go as a family. 'Emily doesn't do all that for Pete. Me and Pete just did it all together as a family. If we'd got you kids, you would come with us.' It comes after Katie - who revealed she and Peter don't talk at all anymore - opened up about the real reason for their divorce. It had long been rumoured that the glamour model and her ex split over her close relationship with her dressage rider Andrew Gould. During an appearance on Paul C Brunson's podcast We Need To Talk, she said: 'We broke up because he thought I was having an affair with my dressage rider, and I've never slept with him. I just kept my horse there, and I was happy keeping my horse there, and he was married. 'But when me and Pete split, because he used to keep saying, "That's it. I've had enough. I've had enough". It got to a point where I went, "Well f***ing divorce me". And I remember the day, because then I flew to the Maldives with the kids. 'That day, I'm at the airport, it's all on Sky News, it wasn't mutual at all. And then I released a statement saying I don't want to split with Pete, it's Pete that's splitting with me. Until this day, me and Pete have never sat down and spoken about it. 'It's all through lawyers. I've never sat down with him, we probably would've sorted it out but we were kept apart.' After they announced their split, Peter said he was 'gutted' that Katie had taken their children to the Maldives villa where they had honeymooned in 2005. He told the Daily Star: 'Being apart from my kids is just breaking my heart. It's destroying me - I'm absolutely gutted.' Katie added that it is 'the most difficult thing' to co-parent, saying: 'But I realised you get to know what people are really like, and I've had it tough. But yeah, it is sad.' The TV personality and her ex-husband were honest about their jealous rows and were regularly seen arguing on their reality show, Katie & Peter. However, it came as a shock to their huge fanbase when they decided to go their separate ways - and seemingly to Katie, too. Revealing it wasn't her choice to split at the time, she said: 'Pete is the love of my life and my life. We have children together, and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me as I married him for life. 'This is not what I want, and the decision has been taken out of my hands. I will not comment further or do any interviews regarding the separation, but I will always love my Pete.'
