Mariah Carey's ‘Type Dangerous' Video Features MrBeast, But Not for Long

Yahoo11-07-2025
Let the games begin with Mariah Carey — if you don't mind a little danger. Mimi can make a man disappear with an on-brand quip and a simple shrug, a talent she casually demonstrates in her new 'Type Dangerous' music video, featuring a surprise cameo from MrBeast.
Carey sings all about how she's 'never been afraid of love/ That's why I like 'em dangerous' in her new single. But she also doesn't need anyone wasting her time. 'I don't have time for the rigamarole,' she warns on the track's first verse, during which she makes her grand arrival in a sparkling evening gown in the Joseph Kahn-directed visual.

The video captures the pop icon's glamorous vibe and her humor. Across seven acts, Ms. Danger herself turns the heads — and, with some fun special effects, deals with — Mr. Player, Mr. Danger, Mr. Traitor, Mr. Racer, Mr. Dealer and finally, the YouTuber MrBeast, who enters in Act 7.
The 'Type Dangerous' video is here just a week after the single dropped.
Carey's last full-length album was 2018's Caution, which was a top 5 album on the Billboard 200. She recently hinted that MC16 — her long-awaited 16th album — might soon follow. This year was a milestone year for one of Carey's most iconic albums. She celebrated the 20th anniversary of The Emancipation of Mimi in April with the May release of a deluxe, multi-disc anniversary edition of the LP, featuring remixes, bonus tracks, radio mixes and a cappella cuts.

Mariah Carey on embracing her diva status: ‘It's part of my job'

Mariah Carey isn't just comfortable with her diva label — she fully owns it and wears it like a crown. Known for her towering heels, diamonds at breakfast and voice that reshaped pop, she has spent over three decades turning glamour into an art form. And now, she's making it clear: the image isn't a performance, it's the job. 'It's part of my job,' she says. 'What's the point of a disguise? Just get up, get dressed, go out. If I don't want to be seen, I'll stay home.' The singer-songwriter made the remarks in a new interview for the September issue of Harper's Bazaar UK, where she also spoke candidly about her refusal to acknowledge ageing — or even the passing of time itself. 'I don't allow it – it just doesn't happen,' the Sweet Fantasy hit-maker told the publication. 'I don't know time. I don't know numbers. I do not acknowledge time – I have a new song that starts with that line…' The lyric is from a track on her forthcoming album, her first full length studio release since 2018's Caution. While a title and release date are yet to be confirmed, Carey has hinted that the project will be her most personal in years, blending the introspection of her 2020 memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey with the vocal freedom of her earlier work. Since bursting onto the scene in 1990 with her self-titled debut album, Carey has built a career defined by soaring vocals and chart-topping hits. Now 55, the five-time Grammy Award winner remains a dominant force in pop. With 19 Billboard Hot 100 number ones, she stands just behind The Beatles in chart history, and her music continues to resonate with new generations — especially every December, when All I Want for Christmas Is You reclaims its throne. Reflecting on her enduring holiday hit, which turns 26 this year, and the mum-of-two's deep love for the festive season, she added: 'I can't believe I have this song that I ended up writing randomly. Christmas is everything. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't get to celebrate.' The full interview is available in the September issue of Harper's Bazaar UK, out July 31.

Could Steffy's Break Spell Breakup? Will B&B Mess With Finn While His Wife Is Away?

When Steffy packs up her kids and heads overseas to escape the mess Luna left in her wake, she's doing what any traumatized wife and mom would do and taking a breather. But while she's finding peace abroad, things could be heating up back home. The question is: what will happen to Finn while his strong, stunning wife is out of the picture? Will he play house solo, or will temptation come knocking in the form of a beautiful, very available woman? Paging Dr. Hottie Let's not pretend Finn (Tanner Novlan) isn't a catch. He's gorgeous, emotionally intelligent, and has that dreamy doctor energy that makes women weak in the knees. And now? He's vulnerable. That's prime real estate for daytime drama. With Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) gone, you just know someone's going to try their luck. WATCH THIS: Stay in the loop about all the soapy casting changes! Finn Vs. Temptation Could Hope (Annika Noelle) make another move? She may be engaged to Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor), but we all know her love life is a flipbook of impulsive decisions. Her perceived chemistry with Finn weened off months upon months ago…or did it? A casual conversation, a comforting moment, and boom – we've got a love triangle nobody asked for but everyone would secretly love. Then there's Ivy (Ashleigh Brewer) newly single and absolutely glowing. She's already reestablished herself in town and doesn't seem to mind stirring a little trouble. A flirt here, a smile there, and suddenly she's sliding into Finn's orbit. And don't even get us started on how good they'd look together. Sparks, anyone? READ MORE: See what drama awaits this week on B&B! And what if the woman who shakes things up isn't someone obvious, but someone who crosses over from his home life to his work life? Dr. Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) has brains, beauty, and a badge that says Doctor. She and Finn could bond over patients, late-night charts, and maybe even something a little steamier. Is that a heartbeat spike or just undeniable tension? Will Finn Stay Faithful? B&B thrives on forbidden connections, emotional cheating, and shocking twists. With Steffy gone, her marriage might be in more danger than she realizes. Whether it's a slow-burning flirtation or a full-blown betrayal, Finn's loyalty is about to be tested like never before. If there's one thing we know about the soaps, it's that no man is left to his own devices for very long without some sort of trouble brewing – and no woman plays fair when love and lust are on the line. INDIO, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 15: (L-R) Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa of BLACKPINK perform at the Coachella Stage during the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 15, 2023 in Indio, California. (Photo byfor Coachella) Blackpink's brand new single 'Jump' is off to a strong start on the Billboard charts in the United States. Following its first full tracking frame of availability, the tune sold and streamed well enough to launch inside the top 10 on multiple tallies, bringing the K-pop girl group back to the highest reaches on several rankings, pushing the act toward the summit on a number of tallies for the first time. Billboard classifies 'Jump' as a dance tune, and that label works in Blackpink's favor and helps the four singers make history. 'Jump' Debuts at No. 1 'Jump' opens at No. 1 on one U.S.-based tally, as the tune starts atop the Dance Digital Song Sales chart. Blackpink scores its first No. 1 on the list of the bestselling dance and electronic tracks throughout the country. The group has only appeared on the tally once before this frame. Blackpink previously joined Lady Gaga on 'Sour Candy,' which debuted in June 2020 and eventually peaked in the runner-up spot. Now, the South Korean act has finally reached the top space. Blackpink Joins Jung Kook and Psy Blackpink is just the fourth K-pop act to hit No. 1 on the Dance Digital Song Sales chart. Earlier this month, HUNTR/X — a fictional group from Netflix's film KPop Demon Hunters — soared to the peak position with 'How It's Done.' Blackpink replaces that cut at No. 1 this week. Fellow K-pop stars Psy and Jung Kook of BTS fame have also led the charge in the past. Blackpink Hits the Top 10 on Several Charts 'Jump' starts at No. 3 on the all-genre Digital Song Sales chart, with exactly 3,600 copies purchased (per Luminate). The tune also opens in the runner-up spot on both the Hot Dance/Pop Songs and Dance Streaming Songs tallies. Looking globally, 'Jump' is the biggest hit around the world this frame, as Blackpink returns to No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. with the exciting comeback track.
