Visit cut-off villages, report on PM-Janman execution: CM Majhi to secretaries
Majhi, who reviewed the central scheme at a high-level meeting here, also instructed the district collectors and heads of different departments to visit each of the identified villages and habitations to monitor the programme implementation and submit a report to the government.
The PM Janman Yojana covers 14 districts including 55 blocks, 1,751 villages/habitations, 289 gram panchayats and two municipal areas, benefitting a total of 3,14,514 people from 68,605 families. The objective is to enhance the socioeconomic conditions of particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs) by providing comprehensive development interventions.
According to the meeting, target has been set for construction of 45,408 houses along with 210 km of pucca roads by the Rural Development department, tap water supply to 1,646 villages, mobile tower connectivity in 351 areas, hostel facilities for students in 405 areas and construction of 74 multi-purpose centres in the current financial year.

For this, we are thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central government." The transformation stems from the vision laid out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in May 2014 - to improve the living conditions of the poor by ensuring every household has a pucca home. This commitment led to the launch of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban (2015) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin (2016), bringing dignity and security to millions across India. Likewise, PM-KISAN, launched in 2019, aims to provide assured income support to farmers. On August 2, 2025, Prime Minister Modi released the 20th instalment of the scheme from Varanasi, benefiting over 9.7 crore farmers nationwide. Through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), approximately Rs 20,500 crore was credited directly to beneficiaries, ensuring transparency and eliminating middlemen. Odisha CM Majhi launches MLA LAD web portal, unveils revised guidelines for CM-SA
BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday launched the MLA's local area development MLA LAD web portal, an initiative to streamline the administrative operations for swift and transparent execution of essential infrastructure projects for the public in a time-bound manner. Launching the portal ( at Lok Seva Bhawan, Majhi also released the simplified guidelines for MLA's local area development (LAD) fund and chief minister's special assistance (CM-SA). 'The revised guidelines are transparent, easier to understand and time-efficient. It will bring efficiency to administrative processes and facilitate the swift and transparent execution of essential and small-scale basic infrastructure projects for the public,' he said. The chief minister said the new guidelines prioritise various sectors and allow for the inclusion of essential projects while excluding non-essential ones. The approval process, from project proposal to issue of work order, has been streamlined to take no more than 30 days. The CM-SA guidelines will also facilitate faster execution of projects, he added.

India clocks rapid progress in food, energy and defence sectors over last 10 years: Report
India has undergone a profound transformation in the three pillars of national security - food security, energy security, and defence security over the last 10 years, driven by a clear vision in policymaking, strategic investments, and rapid technological adoption, according to an article in India Narrative. The country has emerged as the second-largest producer of rice and wheat, and the largest producer of pulses and sugar. Foodgrain output surged from 256.4 million tonnes in 2015–16 to 315.72 million tonnes in 2021–22, representing a near 60 million tonne increase over a decade. This achievement has been anchored in a multipronged approach: improved irrigation, mechanisation, high-yield seed varieties, and farmer-focused welfare schemes. Key schemes bolstering this effort include the PM-KISAN scheme, which gives direct income support to over 110 million farmers, the MGNREGA rural employment security that indirectly strengthens purchasing power for food, as well as the Soil Health Card Scheme and PM Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, which target sustainable soil and water management. India's agricultural exports - from shrimp to spices - have reinforced not only national income but also regional food supply stability, making it a reliable contributor to global markets. The article highlights the rapid transformation in the country's energy security since 2014, when millions of Indians still lacked basic electricity.
