Bhumana, Roja allege betrayal by TDP-led govt
Speaking at the event, Karunakar Reddy criticised the ruling alliance, accusing them of deceiving the public within just one year of coming to power. He alleged that a widespread media campaign was orchestrated against former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and claimed that the current government has failed to deliver on the promises made during the elections. 'While Jagan directly transferred Rs 2.8 lakh crore to people through DBT schemes, the alliance misled voters by promising to give more than Rs 2.5 lakh crore, only to betray them later,' Bhumana said.
He also condemned the alleged threats made against those questioning the government's failures, describing the current year as one of mass deception. He accused the government of weaponising law enforcement by arresting and imprisoning YSRCP supporters across the state. 'Chandrababu Naidu has betrayed five crore people and stabbed them in the back,' he stated.
Roja echoed these sentiments, launching a fiery tirade against the TDP's so-called 'Suparipalana' (good governance), mockingly branding it as the rule of the 'Super Six'. From producing illicit liquor to promoting belt shops, this administration is a complete failure, she said.

Vizianagaram: Two employees of MFCWL, Boora Ratnaji from Rajahmundry and GJ Srinivas from Tamil Nadu, have been arrested by the Vizianagaram One Town police for cybercrime, forgery, and GST fraud. Others named as co-accused include Chelli Raju, Jayaprakash Reddy, Vishwanath Reddy, Sangeetha Kannan, and Mohammed Aminuddin. They created fake email IDs, stamps, and logos on behalf of Ravindra Reddy, committing fraud amounting to Rs 1 crore. FIRs have been filed, and the public is calling for the swift arrest of the remaining suspects and a thorough investigation into the nationwide operations of MFCWL. Authorities are extensively investigating the case to identify other culprits involved in this large-scale financial fraud network.

Ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) would launch his statewide campaign this evening from Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district - a traditional AIADMK stronghold in the western region of the state. The campaign is expected to cover all 234 constituencies, with the tagline "Protecting People and Redeeming Tamil Nadu." EPS, who will address a public rally this evening, is expected to highlight what he calls the "failures and unfulfilled promises" of the ruling DMK government. The racket was busted after a 26-year-old man, who went on a date with a woman member of the gang, approached the police after finding something suspicious about bill. According to the police, the complainant had matched with a woman named Disha Sharma on a dating app. They met for dinner at a hotel in Borivali where they were presented with a bill of Rs 35,000. A loan recovery agent by profession, the complainant, taken aback by the exorbitant bill amount, suspected something was wrong and called the police. Thereafter, the bill was brought down to Rs 30,000, after which Sharma offered to split it. The man paid Rs 15,000 by scanning a QR code provided by the waiter. Later, he realized the payment was made to an individual named Mohammad Talib, not the hotel, prompting him to approach the police again. Subsequently, a case was registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and IT Act. As police launched an investigation, it was revealed that Sharma had conned the man with the help of hotel staff. On Thursday, she was tracked down to a hotel in Navi Mumbai's Digha area and arrested. During interrogation, Sharma confessed to being part of a larger racket. The gang operated by creating fake profiles on dating apps, luring men to hotels, and issuing inflated fake bills with the help of staff. Police subsequently arrested 20 other gang members, including five women. Police said all the accused belong to Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and had come to Mumbai specifically to dupe people.
