MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — Two Maryland men are facing charges after West Virginia State Troopers found fentanyl following a high-speed chase in Monongalia County that reached more than 100 miles per hour.
According to a criminal complaint, on Feb. 4, troopers with the Morgantown detachment of the West Virginia State Police responded to Interstate 79 after receiving a 'Be On The Lookout' call regarding a vehicle being driven by Joshua Edward Galante, 41, of Linthicum Heights, Maryland, and Antwan Eugene Dixon, 32, of Glen Burnie, Maryland. Troopers were informed that the pair were allegedly involved in a felony theft and pursuit that injured an officer in Logan, Ohio and that they could be in the area.
Troopers said that they found the vehicle—a white BMW—on I-79 North and conducted a traffic stop on it near the Pilot Fuel Station on Goshen Road.

Troopers said that Galante refused commands from troopers to get out of the vehicle and began to flee by getting back on I-79 North and driving at a 'high rate of speed towards Morgantown,' the complaint said.
The vehicle then led troopers on a chase on I-79 to Westover, through Morgantown, back onto I-79 and onto I-68, where it got off at Exit 1 and 'became disabled' at the GoMart on Grafton Road. Troopers said that during the chase, the vehicle 'passed vehicles across double yellow lines, made numerous hazardous lane changes' and reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.
After the vehicle was stopped, troopers performed a search and found a 'measurable amount' of presumed fentanyl as well as cash and cell phones. Troopers also learned that Dixon had four felony warrants out of Maryland with confirmed extradition.
Both men were charged with possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and drug conspiracy. Galante was also charged with fleeing with reckless indifference, and Dixon was charged with being a fugitive from justice.

Palmdale man killed in Phelan crash, potential hit-and-run charge pending

A Palmdale man died over the weekend from injuries he suffered in a possible hit-and run collision between his SUV and a big rig in Phelan last week, authorities said. Aaron Graham, 37, of Palmdale died at Arrowhead Regional Hospital Medical Center in Colton on Saturday, according to California Highway Patrol officials and San Bernardino County coroner's records. The crash took place about 10:05 p.m. Thursday along eastbound Highway 138, just east of Gramercy Road. Graham was driving a BMW X7 SUV east along Highway 138 prior to the wreck, CHP officials said. A Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling in front of the BMW. "For reasons still under investigation, the driver of the BMW crashed into the rear of the Freightliner's trailer," the agency said in a written statement. Graham was found unconscious inside his SUV and taken to a hospital by paramedics, where he remained until he succumbed to his injuries. Upon arrival, officers found the involved big rig had "fled the scene," according to the statement. Authorities found the big rig suspected to have been involved in the crash a short time later, just over a mile away along Hess Road. A man at the wheel of the truck, as well as another man riding as a passenger, were unhurt, according to the CHP. No arrests were made at the scene, but the investigation continued, including the possibility of a hit-and-run charge against the truck driver, officials added. Intoxicated driving was not suspected to be a factor. Former Dallas Cowboys player charged after mother of two killed in crash

Kelvin Joseph, a former Dallas Cowboys cornerback, has been released from jail after he was allegedly involved in a crash in Texas that killed a female motorcyclist. Joseph, 25, was charged with a DWI and collision involving personal injury or death, according to the Richardson Police Department. Authorities responded to the scene in the 2400 block of U.S. 75 around 4.50 a.m. in Plano, Texas. The victim, Cody Morris, 27, was found deceased. No other cars or people were found nearby. Police officials said Joseph called the department an hour later and said he was involved in the crash. When officers arrived at his location, police said they 'observed signs of intoxication.' He was then arrested. Officials set his bail at $1,000 for the DWI charge and $25,000 for the collision involving death charge. He was released on bond on Sunday. It's believed Joseph was traveling in a BMW northbound when he allegedly hit Morris, the mother of two children and a wife, according to CBS News. Joseph was picked by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft and spent two seasons playing on the team. In 2022, authorities named him a person of interest in connection with a fatal shooting at a nightclub in Lower Greenville in Dallas, officials said. Joseph was cleared after police arrested two suspects. In 2023, Joseph was traded by the Cowboys to the Miami Dolphins. He then went on to play for different teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs. In February 2025, he joined the United Football League and signed with the DC Defenders.
