Nikhil Webb Walker returns to Colorado football workouts after lymphoma battle
Colorado Buffaloes defensive lineman Nikhil Webb Walker is back on the field, less than a year after being diagnosed with lymphoma.
Webb Walker participated in Thursday's summer workout at CU's indoor practice facility, as reported by "The Pregame Show." The junior defensive end appeared in the first five games of last season, mostly on special teams, before stepping away in October to undergo treatment.
"It feels good, man," Webb Walker told Thee Pregame Show. "The altitude gets me a little bit, but we're going to be back straight soon."
According to Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, Webb Walker wrapped up his chemotherapy in March and has been on the mend since then.
A native of Jamaica, Webb Walker began his college career at New Mexico State before transferring to Colorado ahead of his sophomore season. As an Aggie, he starred in 12 games, including four starts, where he put up good numbers, finishing the year with 25 tackles, five tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
During his first year with the Buffs, Webb Walker was primarily a special-teams player but played his first defensive snaps during the Week 5 game against UCF.
If Webb Walker is fully healthy entering the season, he provides defensive coordinator Robert Livingston another versatile weapon along the defensive line. The Buffs led the Big 12 in sacks last season, so it might be a formidable lineup to crack. Nonetheless, it is fantastic news to see Webb Walker back on the field and anything he produces on the field should be considered a bonus.

Nebraska hosted 7 on 7 tournament praised by players and coaches Nebraska Football hosted the Battle of the Boneyard 7 on 7 tournament on Friday, and it is proving to be a success. Multiple 7 on 7 coaches have confirmed that other events have already reached out to learn how Nebraska is running the weekend. This was reported by Tim Verghese on Friday. Verghese also noted that this is the first-ever sponsored brand tournament on the Nebraska campus. The tournament itself was sponsored by Adidas. Class of 2027 Nebraska football quarterback commit Trae Taylor elected to be part of this, playing on the Miami Raw team. He had a productive day on Friday and was able to connect with fellow 2027 recruit Ahmad Hudson for multiple touchdowns. Hudson is the top tight end in the 2027 class per Rivals rankings. Several prominent figures in the NFL circle showed up as well. Former Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton came to Lincoln, as his 7 on 7 team, C1N was present. Former Nebraska football running back Ameer Abdullah also made an appearance on Friday. 2026 4-star Edge and Texas A&M commit is visiting Washington Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class is on track to see a significant boost this summer, especially this weekend, as coach Mike Elko and his staff are currently hosting 18 prospects from the 2026 class, including six commits, led by four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory. However, five-star wide receiver and LSU commit Tristen Keys is also on campus. After hiring former Miami Recruiting Director and assistant WR coach David Cooney, the Aggies have a very good chance to flip the elite pass catcher soon. However, according to Rivals recruiting insider Adam Gorney, four-star edge Texas A&M commit Samu Moala could be the Aggies' first realistic flip candidate, as the California product will reportedly visit Washington this weekend. The Huskies, like Oregon, focus on California for the bulk of the program's recruiting and have done a solid job this offseason of hosting several elite 2026 prospects. However, after committing in late October of last year, Texas A&M will be the final team to host Moala on June 20, meaning the Aggies are still in the driver's seat to keep him committed ahead of Early Signing Day in early December. On the field, there's a reason Moala is highly sought after, as he has improved every season, recording 52 tackles, three sacks, two tackles for loss, an interception, and nine hurries during his 2024 junior season. On offense, Moala hauled in five receptions for 86 yards and one touchdown. According to 247Sports, Moala is currently positioned as the 27th-ranked Edge and 26th-ranked prospect in California.
