IndiGo flight suffers bird strike, makes emergency landing at Ranchi airport
Speaking with ANI, Birsa Munda Airport Director RR Mourya said, 'The incident occurred while the aircraft was making an inbound turn to land, approximately 10 to 12 nautical miles from the airport at an altitude of 3,000 to 4,000 feet'.
'A bird was reported to have hit the aircraft, which was suspected to be a large bird, possibly a vulture. Following the report, an emergency landing was requested,' Mourya added.
The aircraft landed safely at 13:14 Hours and is currently grounded pending further clearance. Airport authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported and that standard safety protocols were followed.
An IndiGo flight from Raipur to Delhi experienced turbulence due to a duststorm, prompting the pilot to climb up again when the aircraft was about to touch down at Delhi airport.
Flight 6E 6313 landed safely at Delhi airport after making many circles in the air. The video of the incident also went viral on social media.
The pilot announced that the wind speed was upto 80 km/hrs, and he discontinued the approach and climbed back till the weather cleared.
On Saturday, IndiGo announced that the airline will offer exclusive daily direct flights between Mumbai and Adampur (Jalandhar).
This new route will make the town in Jalandhar, Punjab, IndiGo's 92nd domestic station and 133rd overall destination. Effective July 02, 2025, this new route will offer convenient flights between the two cities.
These flights have been strategically introduced to cater to the needs of both business and leisure customers, providing them with convenient travel options.
This new direct connection will give Punjab's agricultural and industrial sectors easier access to Mumbai's major ports, boosting trade opportunities. It will also help local businesses tap into national and international markets, create jobs, and strengthen economic and cultural ties between northern and western India. (ANI)

EV boom drives salary surge in auto sector: Report
India's auto sector, particularly the electric vehicle (EV) and EV infrastructure segments, is set to see one of the highest salary increments in FY26, according to TeamLease Services' latest Jobs and Salaries Primer report. The study revealed that the EV and EV infrastructure domain is projected to register an average salary hike of 11.3 per cent in FY26 — the highest across all surveyed sectors — indicating strong hiring momentum and talent demand within the rapidly growing clean mobility space, reported news agency ANI . With favourable macroeconomic conditions, increased EV adoption, and the government's focus on green mobility through production-linked incentives and state EV policies, the auto sector is poised for both structural and human capital expansion in FY26. Other sectors which expect a boom? Closely linked sectors such as consumer durables and retail are also expected to post double-digit salary growth, 10.7 per cent each, while traditional automotive roles will see steady hikes of up to 9.5 per cent. Notably, Pune — a major auto and EV hub — leads the list of cities with the highest average increment, 10.4 per cent, underscoring its growing significance as a talent hotspot for mobility companies. 'EV is no longer a fringe vertical — it's becoming central to the Indian auto industry's future roadmap,' said Kartik Narayan, CEO - Staffing, TeamLease Services. He added that as new-age industries scale rapidly, they are witnessing a sharp shift in demand toward roles that blend engineering capabilities with immediate business impact. Even blue-collar roles such as mechanics and material handlers are now commanding double-digit wage hikes. The report also highlighted the continued expansion of engineering and IT roles in the auto sector, driven by the integration of AI, IoT, and connected car technologies. Engineering functions across industries are expected to see average hikes of 9.5 per cent, while IT roles are pegged at 9.2 per cent, indicating that digital transformation remains a key talent driver. The report concludes that as India's labour market evolves, the automobile industry — especially its EV vertical — will continue to be a bellwether for salary growth and talent innovation, reshaping the future of mobility careers.

Pakistan back in US calculus after years of isolation
ANI Pakistan's foreign minister Ishaq Dar Pakistan is back in US' decision-making circles after years of isolation amid intense lobbying by Islamabad and Washington's eagerness to reciprocate, notwithstanding its robust ties with India. From being courted by the US State Department for "anti-terror" operations to praises heaped by the US Central Command head to a possible trade deal, Islamabad has been able to make inroads into the Trump administration. Field Marshal Asim Munir's lunch meeting with Trump was the icing on the cake following which New Delhi raised the issue with Washington, people familiar with the matter hinted the US being deeply involved in working out trade deals globally, Pakistan has claimed that it is "very close" to an agreement that could come within days. However, the US has not presented any such timeline. "I think we are very close to finalising a deal with the US. Our teams have been here in Washington, discussing, having virtual meetings and a committee has been tasked by the prime minister to fine-tune now," Pakistan foreign minister Ishaq Dar said in a discussion at the Atlantic Council think tank in Washington last week. "It's not going to be months, not even weeks, I would say (just) days," he US State Department and Pakistan's foreign ministry, in separate statements after secretary of state Marco Rubio's meeting with Dar, said the two stressed in their discussion the importance of expanding trade and ties in critical minerals and mining.A post by Rubio on X after the meeting and the State Department's statement mentioned no timeline for finalising a trade deal. Sources familiar with Pakistan claimed that Islamabad has the habit of making tall and unsubstantiated claims while reality could be far from the truth. Pakistan's economy is staring at a crisis and a trade deal with the US may not boost the country's economic growth, the sources said. The US Central Command based in the Gulf has historically worked closely with Pakistan since the Cold War era. And last weekend, US Central Command chief General Michael Kurilla was conferred 'Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military)' by the Pakistan President. The US general had recently backed Pakistan as a "phenomenal partner in countering terror". The honour for Kurilla coincided with the Pakistan foreign minister's visit to Washington. Rubio also thanked Dar for "Pakistan's partnership in countering terrorism and preserving regional stability". The two discussed harnessing Pakistan's critical minerals. The US is reportedly interested in acquiring antimony from Pakistan. Antimony is a metalloid used in various industries, including flame retardants, batteries, semiconductors, and even military claim that Pakistan has wooed the US through crypto business and the nomination of President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Recently, the Indian Army has started using a modern war-planning approach known as red teaming to improve its preparedness and decision-making. Lieutenant General Sumer Ivan D'Cunha , in an interview with ANI, revealed that red teaming has already been used in a recent military campaign and is now being adopted more widely across the force. Responding to a question from the interviewer — "Do you study or try to understand the mindset of the person in charge on the other side — like General Munir? Do you conduct a psychological analysis of your adversary? Because predicting their next move is a major part of what the military is supposed to do, right? You have to anticipate how they're planning and what their intentions might be. Is that something you actively do?" Lt Gen D'Cunha, DGMO of Indian Army Air Defence said: 'The United States has long used red teaming, and Israel has applied it to some extent. Primary objectives of red teaming Lt Gen D'Cunha said the red team examines how adversaries are likely to think and act, including analysing the psychological impact of operations and potential outcomes such as civil unrest. 'This allows commanders to understand the possible consequences of their actions and prepare for future phases of a campaign,' he noted.
