N.S. man charged with sexual assault and weapons offences
A 51-year-old man from Ingomar, N.S., has been charged with multiple offences in connection with a sexual assault investigation.
Shelburne District RCMP received a sexual assault report involving a firearm on May 9.
Following an investigation, police say a woman was unknowingly given a noxious substance, held against her will and sexually assaulted at a residence in Shelburne County.
'Officers executed a search warrant at the home on May 22, seized evidence related to the offences and safely arrested a man who is known to the victim,' reads a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP.
Robert Sean Williams, 51, has been charged with:
sexual assault with a weapon
two counts of uttering threats
administering noxious thing
kidnapping
voyeurism
two counts of overcoming resistance to commission of offence
10 firearms offences, including, but not limited to, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and careless use of a firearm
Williams has also been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and psilocybin. He was remanded into custody pending future court appearances.
Shelburne District RCMP is leading the ongoing investigation.

Police investigate two related thefts from Guelph business, almost $2.5K in cosmetics stolen

Police say on May 29, staff of a store near Gordon Street and Clair Road reported a man inside the store they believed had been involved in two earlier thefts. Nearly $1,300 in cosmetics were stolen on April 15 and another $1,200 were stolen on May 4, according to police. 'No theft occurred May 29 as it is believed the man realized staff were watching him and left the store,' police said in a media release. 'He is described as having tanned skin, 5'10', 200 pounds with dark hair. Staff saw him getting into a grey Dodge Caravan." A man in his 20s was rushed to the hospital following a single-vehicle collision on June 8 near Dundas Street West and Shorncliffe Road. (Jacob Estrin/CTV News Toronto) A man has been rushed to the hospital following a single-vehicle collision in Etobicoke early Sunday afternoon. The crash, which Toronto police said happened around noon and involved a driver striking a concrete barrier trapping them inside, happened near Dundas Street West and Shorncliffe Road, just west of Kipling Avenue. Police said a man in his 20s was transported to a trauma centre via emergency run, but the extent of his injuries are not yet known. Shorncliffe is closed in both directions as police investigate.
