I would dance to the songs of Rajesh Khanna's films and would cry and get upset when injustice was meted out to him. My mother felt so bad that she stopped taking me to movies.'
Not just Rajesh Khanna, Reena also expressed admiration for superstar Jeetendra. Expressing how she went blank during her first meetup with the actor on the sets of Jaise Ko Kaisa, she shared, 'I was shocked when Jeetendra ji came in front of me, I was like, is this real? I was blank. He made me feel comfortable as we started shooting and we ended up having great rapport. Our first film together was 'Jaise Ko Taisa' and that was a superhit movie. 'Nagin', and almost every film of mine with him was superhit.'
Interestingly, Reena later collaborated with both Rajesh Khanna and Jeetendra, forming one of the most popular on-screen pairings in Hindi cinema. She worked opposite Khanna, in films such as Dhanwan, Asha Jyoti and Dharam Khanta, among others. With Jeetendra, Reena delivered 12 superhits, one of them being the most iconic, Nagin.

On Khudiram death anniv, CM slams bid to ‘distort legacy'
1 2 Kolkata: Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Monday expressed her anger at a recent Hindi film's portrayal of freedom fighter Khudiram Bose as 'Khudiram Singh'. Paying tribute to Khudiram on his death anniversary, the CM slammed the attempt by "language terrorists" to "distort the legacy of the pioneering immortal revolutionary". Khudiram, then mere 18 years old, was executed by the British govt in 1908 and is one of the most revered Bengali revolutionaries. Following the release of the film in April, TMC had objected to it and held numerous protests against it. The film had also shown Khudiram as a Punjab native. In a long post on X written in Bengali, Banerjee quoted lines from the popular song 'Ekbaar bidaay de maa, ghure ashi' — written in honour of Khudiram — and said, "Why are those who sacrificed their lives for independence being disrespected? Will language terrorists also distort the legacy of the pioneering immortal revolutionary Khudiram?" The CM added: "Our indomitable youth from Midnapore has been portrayed as a boy from Punjab. Intolerable!" She reminded how her govt had "always honoured this symbol of patriotism and supreme sacrifice."
