The Mail's Royal expert reacts to Meghan Markle's 'undignified' twerking video on PALACE CONFIDENTIAL

Daily Mail2 days ago

To mark her daughter Princess Lilibet's fourth birthday, Meghan Markle posted a video of herself twerking in a maternity suite.
As the Duchess of Sussex shimmied to Starrkeisha's The Baby Momma Dance, Prince Harry is seen dad-dancing across the hospital floor.
'I assumed it was AI generated,' Richard Eden, the Daily Mail's Diary Editor, said on the latest episode of Palace Confidential. 'I couldn't believe it was them but it is!
'It's just so unusual, isn't it? It's not what you expect to see from members of the royal family.
'If the Princess of Wales ever posts a video like this, I'm giving up royal commentary altogether,' he added later on in the episode.
'What's important for the Royal Family is dignity. I think you do have to maintain some dignity and decorum.
'Yes, that might sound a bit stuffy or whatever but what are the Royals for? Originally they were there to lead us into battle, they're there to represent us so you expect some dignity.
'It would be the same for an American President. I don't want to see videos of Donald Trump twerking in the same way I don't want to see members of the Royal Family twerking.'
Richard then goes on to point out that this is 'not a first' for the couple who stepped back from frontline royal duties in 2020.
He recalled various examples of their 'undignified' moments such as the Duchess 'squatting on the Ellen DeGeneres programme', the Duke 'joking around with James Corden' and Meghan's 'exaggerated curtsy' on their bombshell Netflix series.
Richard stars on the hit YouTube panel show alongside Rebecca English, the Daily Mail's Royal Editor.
This week, the unrivalled royal reporting duo were also joined by Palace Confidential's executive producer Luke Blackall.
Having covered the royal beat for the Daily Mail since 2004, Rebecca had her own thoughts on the twerking video.
She said: 'Queen Elizabeth was able to do things that were amusing and funny and slightly out of her usual box.'
Rebecca lists the late monarch's appearance with James Bond at the London 2012 Olympic Games as well as the skit she filmed with the Obamas and her grandson Prince Harry to promote the Invictus Games.
'But they were done in a dignified way,' Rebecca added. 'They were chosen very carefully and in a very very controlled manner and not done very often as well so when she did them, they had much more effect.'
The couple's Netflix series Harry and Meghan released in 2022
Directing a question at Richard, the show's host Luke said: 'There's always been conspiracy theories around Meghan's pregnancies and children. Do you think it will quell those conspiracy theorists by releasing videos like this?'
'I do seriously wonder if Meghan has wanted to address the conspiracy theories because look what's happened recently,' Richard replied.
'She published that mood board on Instagram where she had a picture of her, she wasn't wearing many clothes at all, with her huge baby bump.
'And soon after we have seen this video as well so I think that is possibly addressing those conspiracy theories.'
He continued: 'The point is, Meghan has broadcast this to mark the fourth birthday of her daughter, but it's not about her daughter, it's all about her.
'And where has she broadcast it? The Instagram page she created to promote her business. It's all commercial, it's all about making money. She really is trying to commercialise those children.'
Rebecca agreed, adding: 'I think a lot of people will find this very hypocritical. I have to say, after my initial shock the whole South Park Worldwide Privacy Tour sprung to mind.
'Meghan has always said that one of the reasons she didn't like being a member of the Royal Family is because she felt she was expected to deliver up pictures of her children or of them in private family time regularly, I would argue that that is not the case.
'She says, "If I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it on my own terms".
Rebecca English, the Daily Mail's Royal Editor, said she 'cannot comprehend' why Meghan would post such a video of such a 'uniquely private moment'
Rebeccca, who has covered the royal beat for the Daily Mail since 2004, said: 'After my initial shock the whole South Park Worldwide Privacy Tour sprung to mind'
'I'm a reporter, not a columnist, so I try to report the news and let people make up their own mind,' Rebecca said.
'But speaking as an individual, that is such a uniquely private moment between you and your partner.
'I can understand them wanting to do a fun video around it, the baby was late, you do all sorts when that happens such as eating hot curries and going out for a walk.
'But to then share that with three million followers on Instagram and to know that is going to be spread around the world, I simply cannot comprehend the thinking of that. I can't understand why you would do that.'
'Spare a thought for Meghan's father,' Richard interjected. 'Remember that Meghan took legal action because Thomas Markle dared to make public a letter which he had received from his daughter.
'On the one hand, we have got her obsessed with privacy and refusing even to disclose the names of the godparents of Prince Archie and then releasing intimate videos like this on the day that her daughter was born.
'To me, it smacks of hypocrisy.'

Kylie Jenner goes topless under sexy black robe after shock admission about her breast implants

Kylie Jenner put on a busty display in a series of sultry snaps that were shared to her Instagram page on Saturday. The beauty mogul, 27 - who recently got candid about her breast implants - struck a variety of poses while taking snaps in the reflection of a mirror. The mom-of-two donned a black, satin robe that was partially open at the front and loosely secured with a belt which tied around her waist. Jenner's long, dark locks were parted in the middle and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in elegant curls. Her makeup was glammed up for the spontaneous photo session and comprised of a layer of mascara on her lashes as well as a light shadow around her eyes. A warm blush was added to her cheekbones while a nude-colored matte tint was worn on her lips for a finishing touch. The post also included a short reel as she showed off the lowkey look while filming inside what appeared to be a hotel bathroom. Jenner penned in the caption to her 393 million followers: 'having a reaally good hair day.' It comes just days after the TV personality gave a shock admission about her breast implants earlier this week on Wednesday. The Kylie Cosmetics founder responded to a fan on TikTok who had asked the reality star to unveil details about her past procedure. Back in 2023, Jenner admitted to undergoing a boob job when she was only 19-years-old, which had been shortly before she became pregnant with her eldest child Stormi. A social media user named Rachel Leary uploaded a clip to the platform and also typed out, 'help a girl out @Kylie Jenner. i just want to know how to get them to sit like that, respectfully.' The star saw the post and then offered her own response in the comment section of the video. '445 cc, moderate profile, half under the muscle!!!!!! silicone!!! garth fisher!!! hope this helps lol,' Kylie wrote, which prompted the fan to excitedly gush, 'KYLIEEEEE!!! you are the best THANK YOU!!!!' Dr. Garth Fisher was the same plastic surgeon that Kylie's mom Kris Jenner also went to back in 2011 to undergo a facelift. The momager recently commented on Fisher's post as she thanked him for performing her facelift over a decade earlier. 'Garth you are a such a superstar class act!! You did my first facelift in 2011... 14 years ago!!!' she began. 'And made it the most amazing experience ever and even gave us access to film so that others could get a peek inside what it's like and not be afraid...' Jenner concluded with, 'You have taken great care of us always and remain such a close and treasured friend!! Such an incredible talent!!' Kylie has previously been open about undergoing cosmetic procedures aside from the breast implants, such as getting fillers. During an episode of The Kardashians in 2023, the reality star opened up about her boob job which occurred when she was age 19. While having a conversation with close pal Stassie Karanikolaou, the mom-of-two expressed, 'You know I got my breasts done before Stormi, within six months of having Stormi, not thinking I would have a child when I was 20. 'They were still healing,' Kylie said, and then added, 'I had beautiful breasts. Just gorgeous, perfect size. I just wish I never got them done, to begin with.' However, the Khy founder told her friend that her viewpoint on undergoing surgery has altered since welcoming her daughter Stormi, seven. The beauty mogul shares Stormi as well as son Aire, three, with ex and rapper Travis Scott. 'I have a daughter. I would be heartbroken if she wanted to get her body done at 19,' Jenner admitted. 'She's the most beautiful thing ever. I want to be the best mom and the best example for her. I wish I could be her and do it all again because I wouldn't touch anything.' And during an interview with British Vogue last year, Kylie discussed facing judgement over rumors that she had undergone cosmetic surgery when she was a teenager. 'Naturally you're in such a different place,' she explained in regards to being a teen. 'The world put a lot of pressure on a teenager, me, to make the right decisions. 'And I just have to be gentle with myself because although I carried so much responsibility in the moment, I was just trying to do what was best for me. I was just trying my best as a human.' Kylie has been keeping busy and was spotted attending a Pilates class alongside her older sister Kendall in Beverly Hills on Wednesday. The beauty mogul showed off her toned midriff wearing a black, busty sports bra as well as a pair of black leggings. She also jumped to Instagram to share a carousel of snaps from the past week - including a few as she attended a Knicks game with boyfriend Timothee Chalamet. The couple - who were first linked in 2023 - have recently been spotted at a few NBA games together, although she did not include the actor in her photo series.

Brit pop icon Adele thanks Netflix hit Adolescence for 'changing her relationship with her son' in heartwarming letters

Brit pop star Adele has written letters of thanks to the creators of the Netflix hit series Adolescence. The singer, 37, told director Philip Barantini, 44, that she made a point of watching the hard-hitting crime drama with her 13-year-old son, Angelo. Adele praised the series for 'changing her relationship' with Angelo, whom she shares with ex-husband Simon Konecki, 51. Adolescence, starring Owen Cooper and Stephen Graham, follows the story of a 13-year-old schoolboy accused of murdering a classmate after being radicalised by misogynistic online content. Director Philip said: 'I am getting messages, inundated on Instagram, from people from all over the world who can relate to this story or have really been affected by it. That, for me, has blown my mind a little bit.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Speaking during a masterclass with the Royal Television Society in words obtained by The Sun, he added: 'I had a text message from Steven Spielberg who has watched it twice, and I got letters from Adele last week - handwritten letters from Adele. He continued: 'I mean, just like saying that she had watched it with her son, and it has changed their relationship.' The director added that the show has surpassed their expectations as he gushed about the power of Netflix which has elevated the show to such a level. The four-part series has become Netflix's second most-watched English-language TV show ever, behind only Wednesday, the Addams family spin-off. Since its March 13 debut, Adolescence has racked up 141.2 million views. The series has sparked a national conversation and even prompted Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to suggest it be shown in schools. He revealed that he watched it with his 14-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son, saying: 'As a dad, I have not found it easy viewing.' It comes after Adele made a rare public appearance with her fiancé Rich Paul, 44, at an NBA game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves earlier this year. While Adele and Rich have chosen to keep their relationship largely out of the spotlight, they have frequently been photographed together at sporting events. Adele previously revealed to Rolling Stone that they met through a mutual friend, having both got up to dance to a Drake song at the birthday party. The couple, who have been dating since 2021, announced their engagement in August of last year when Adele flashed her engagement ring. Following a proposal from a fan, Adele admitted: 'I can't marry you, because I'm already getting married.' The romance is Adele's first relationship since she divorced her ex-husband Simon. The couple were married between 2018 and 2021 and are said to have parted on amicable terms after Adele decided to end the relationship. She told British Vogue: 'I wasn't miserable miserable, but I would have been miserable had I not put myself first. 'But, yeah, nothing bad happened or anything like that.' Following Adele's announcement that she and Rich were engaged, she revealed that she would be taking an extended break from music. She has been full of praise for the relationship and said that she would like to have more children. 'Once I am done with all my obligations and all of my shows, I want to have a baby,' she said on stage last May. 'I want a girl because I've already got a boy. I feel like she might be like the person I love the most in the world, but also probably hate the most in the world. 'That is what I feel will happen. She's going to put me in my place all the time, isn't she? With me as her mother and Rich as her father, she's going to be a bossy little queen, isn't she?' Rich, from Ohio, already has three children - Reonna, Richie, and Zane - from a prior relationship.

Jack Fincham and Chloe Brockett 'rekindle romance AGAIN after sixth split' after dropping major hint they were back together

Jack Fincham and Chloe Brockett have reportedly rekindled their romance again after splitting up for the sixth time. The couple last called it quits on their relationship back in April following 'a stressful year' after the Love Island star overturned his jail sentence. Jack, 32, and the former TOWIE star, 24, have had a tumultuous relationship and have been on and off over the years since they first got together in 2019. However now The Sun have revealed the pair are back on after they were spotted shopping together at Swanley Market in Kent. A source told the publication: 'Chloe and Jack have been on and off for months but have finally put their differences aside to give their relationship another chance. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. However now The Sun have revealed the pair are back on after they were spotted shopping together at Swanley Market in Kent (pictured in February) 'They really want to make it work so have been enjoying some lowkey dates as they gradually build the trust. 'They have realised they have something special so want to put their time and energy into making it work.' MailOnline have contacted Jack and Chloe's representatives for comment. Earlier this week they sparked rumours of a reconciliation when they shared snaps on their respective Instagrams from the same East London market. Taking a visit to Columbia Road Flower Market, Jack shared a snap outside the Birdcage pub. Chloe then also posted a snap from the same spot as she posed with a huge bouquet of flowers. The pair previously moved into their first home together back in May 2024 and even created a joint account to share their home updates. However in April Chloe announced she was once again single and wanted to 'focus on myself', as they prepared to move into separate homes. During a Q&A session with her Instagram followers, Chloe was asked if she is still in a relationship. She responded: 'No I'm not in a relationship anymore... just want to focus on myself and the things that make me happy.' When asked if she was moving in with Jack, she explained: 'No I am moving to Brentwood on my own... I can't wait to show you all my little place it's so pretty' They currently live in Romford, but Chloe reportedly 'misses the Essex buzz,' while Jack is hoping to move to Kent. In another Instagram Stories, she added: 'I wanna give myself a cuddle after the last year I've had... only way is up from here'. Jack previously said he doubted his relationship with Chloe was over for good, and it appeared Chloe feels the same. She admitted: 'I'm sure he would like to go back to that time in our relationship, as would I to some extent. 'Obviously I'm focusing on moving out and things going on in my career and Jack is focusing on a lot of things going on in his. 'I wish him well and we'll always be involved in each other's lives to some extent, whether romantically or in a friendship way, but as of right now I'm focusing on myself.' 'I've seen a lot about us slamming each other, I can assure you that is definitely not what is going on. 'Me and Jack have been in each other's lives for a really long time, six nearly seven years now, and we tried living together and it didn't work for multiple reasons, not because of my OnlyFans at all.'
