Hope PM will finally agree to debate on China during Monsoon session: Congress
The Congress on Thursday said it has been calling for a detailed debate on China for the last five years and hopes that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will finally agree to such a discussion in the forthcoming Monsoon session of Parliament. The opposition party also said it is important to collectively work towards a national consensus on vital national security and economic challenges posed by China's emergence as the world's dominant manufacturing power and as the world's second-largest economy.advertisementCongress general secretary in-charge of communications Jairam Ramesh said, "Today is the fifth anniversary of PM Modi's infamous clean chit to China, when he said 'Na koi hamari seema mein ghus aaya hai, na hi koi ghusa hua hai' only four days after 20 of our brave soldiers gave their lives for the nation in Galwan on 15 June 2020."
"This sorry episode concluded with a withdrawal agreement on October 21, 2024, under which Indian patrols require Chinese concurrence to reach their patrolling points in Depsang, Demchok, and Chumar," he said in a post on X."Buffer zones" in Galwan, Hot Spring, and Pangong Tso lie predominantly within the Indian claim line and seemingly permanently prevent our troops from accessing points to which they had unrestricted access before April 2020, Ramesh claimed.advertisement"This is nowhere close to the status quo as demanded by our Armed Forces and represents a tremendous territorial setback to India" he further claimed.Meanwhile, imports from China are booming - especially electronics, electric batteries, and solar cells, he said.Ramesh pointed out important sectors like telecom, pharmaceuticals, and electronics are critically dependent on Chinese imports."The trade deficit with China has reached a record USD 99.2 billion in 2024-25. Meanwhile, exports to China are lower today than they were in 2013-14 despite a much weaker rupee. That should in theory have made exports more competitive," he said. This surrender to Chinese economic might is the result of the External Affairs Minister's similarly infamous statement when he said: "Look, they are the bigger economy. What am I going to do? As a smaller economy, am I going to pick up a fight with the bigger economy?" Ramesh said. The Congress leader said it is now increasingly clear that China played a pivotally embedded role in Pakistan's military operations during Operation Sindoor."This support goes deeper than the supply of weapon systems such as the J-10C fighter and PL-15E air-to-air missile. It encompasses the domains of AI, multi-domain operations and stealth, with Pakistan likely to get up to 40 J-35 stealth fighters from China in the near future," Ramesh said.advertisement"The challenge of a single front encompassing our northern and western borders appears to be a reality today" he added."The Congress party has been calling for a detailed debate on China for the past five years. That has not happened. We hope that the Prime Minister will finally agree to such a discussion in the forthcoming session of Parliament," Ramesh said.It is important to collectively work towards a national consensus on these vital national security and economic challenges posed by China's emergence as the world's dominant manufacturing power and as the world's second-largest economy - that may well overtake that of the USA in a decade, he said.Must Watch

FearrXI to Launch Skill-Based Real Money Fantasy Gaming Platform in India by July 2025
New Delhi [India], June 18: FearrXI, developed by Fearr Fantasy and E Sports Private Limited, is poised to revolutionize the Indian fantasy gaming market with its innovative, skill-based approach, set to launch before mid-July 2025. By pioneering a real-money and skill-based format, distinct from luck-based games, FearrXI offers Indian sports enthusiasts an exciting, tactical, and profitable experience focused on popular sports like cricket, football, basketball, and kabaddi. The name Fearr is inspired by the Irish word for 'better' or 'best', reflecting the company's vision to provide India with a superior fantasy gaming platform. FearrXI rewards knowledge, dexterity, and timing, offering a unique gaming experience. FearrXI offers a wide range of tables, from ₹19 to ₹25,000, catering to both casual and high-stakes players. The platform allows users to create fantasy teams, make predictions based on performance, and compete against others using real money. The app features a clean interface, swift responsiveness, and ease of use, making gameplay and transactions seamless. Additionally, the experience is enhanced by instant withdrawals, flexible deposit options, and a 100 per cent first deposit bonus. For clarity, it is essential to note that the official name of the app is FearrXI, not Fearr11, as it may have been previously assumed. This distinction enables the brand name to establish a unique identity in a crowded market, fostering brand recognition and trust in both the company and the product, FearrXI, from the outset, ultimately solidifying its position as a reputable name in the fantasy gaming ecosystem. One of FearrXI's standout platform features is its innovative approach to GST treatment on deposits. Despite being subject to a 28 per cent GST as per the rules, the platform compensates users in the form of a bonus, effectively turning a tax into an added benefit. This bold move ensures that players feel valued rather than penalized, making FearrXI one of the few sites to successfully leverage taxation as a user advantage. FearrXI is available nationwide, offering a seamless gaming experience on both Android and iOS devices. It provides uninterrupted play, 24/7 fantasy contests, and attractive rewards. With its secure features and customer support, FearrXI is becoming India's top fantasy sports app.

Who is Ghazala Hashmi? Indian-American wins lieutenant governor nomination; Democrat to contest Virginia race
Source- Instagram Senator Ghazala Hashmi made history on Wednesday by winning the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor of Virginia. She is now the first Muslim and the first Indian-American ever nominated for a statewide office in Virginia. Hashmi defeated five Democratic candidates, including former Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney, clinching the nomination by a razor-thin margin of less than one percentage point. She will now face Republican John Reid in November. Reid is the first openly gay man nominated by a major party for statewide office in Virginia. With Hashmi joining gubernatorial nominee Rep. Abigail Spanberger and attorney general candidate Jay Jones, Democrats have now completed their statewide ticket. The general election could be historic in multiple ways, including the possibility of Virginia electing its first woman governor. Who is Ghazala Hashmi? Hashmi is the first Muslim woman and first South Asian American elected to Virginia's state Senate. She was born in India and moved to the US at age 4, settling in Georgia with her family. Hashmi holds a PhD in American literature and spent most of her professional life as a professor. She taught at the University of Richmond and later at Reynolds Community College before entering politics. In 2019, she entered the Virginia Senate by defeating Republican Glen Sturtevant in a closely watched race. She was re-elected in 2023. In the Senate, she championed reproductive rights. One of her key bills aimed to protect Virginians' access to contraception. The bill passed both chambers but was vetoed by Governor Glenn Youngkin.
