Taylor Swift's uproarious bread puns from 'New Heights,' ranked
But, oh, the bread! We have to talk about the bread! Swift talked a lot about baking sourdough and mentioned that she marks her bread bags with labels that are puns having to do with her own songs.
This might have been my favorite thing in this whole podcast. It's just amazing to see Swift lean into all of these puns and jokes about her songs, like she was a fan online.
So as this site's resident Dad Joke expert, I'm going to rank the ones we heard by how good they are:
4. Flour song is a slammin' screen door
This is a good take on Our Song, but I think Swift had better ones.
3. Are you bready for it?
It's a funny joke about ...Ready For It, don't get me wrong. But it's just a little too easy.
2. Loafing him was bread
NOW we're talking. Two puns in one on Red. But it can't top No. 1.
1. It's a loaf story, baby, just say "yeast"
Give this one a standing ovation. This is perfect, 10/10, no notes, a take on a Swift classic.

Fans think Taylor Swift's new song 'Ruin the Friendship' is about Blake Lively
Swift and Lively's relationship has been under scrutiny since the "It Ends With Us" actress' legal battle with costar and director Justin Baldoni. Another Taylor Swift era, another round of pre-release speculation about who her new songs could be about. When the pop icon announced the tracklist to her upcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on the New Heights podcast Wednesday, Swifties immediately did what they do best and started parsing through each song title for possible meaning. One in particular caught their eye: "Ruin the Friendship." Fans immediately hit social media with their theories that the song, which is the sixth track on the album, could be about longtime Swift pal Blake Lively and the status of their friendship. To recap, Lively's ongoing and very public legal battle with her It Ends With Us costar and director Justin Baldoni began in December 2024. The pair took legal action against each other, with Lively accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and launching a smear campaign, and Baldoni launching a countersuit, alleging defamation and extortion. Since then, Swift and Lively's relationship has been under scrutiny. The Grammy winner got pulled into the mix when a complaint filed by Baldoni's legal team (which was later dismissed) alleged that she had pressured him to accept Lively's script changes on the movie, which Lively's team called "categorically false." Baldoni's countersuit included text messages between Lively and Baldoni, in which the actress seemingly alludes to Swift as "one of her dragons" while likening herself to Game of Thrones' Khaleesi (Emilia Clarke). Then, in May 2025, matters reached a fever pitch when Baldoni's team attempted to subpoena Swift, which prompted a rep for the pop star to slam the maneuver as a scheme to generate "tabloid clickbait." "Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history," a spokesperson for Swift told Entertainment Weekly at the time. For their part, Swift and Lively have not publicly commented on how, or if, any of this has affected their friendship, though they haven't been seen in public together in quite some time. And while Swift never reveals who her songs are about, she has been open about how she uses real-life inspirations in her music (after all, Lively and Ryan Reynolds' children have had cameos in or served as character name inspiration in tracks such as "Gorgeous" and "Betty"). A rep for Swift didn't immediately respond to EW's request for comment Thursday, but, the singer herself did provide some possible context on the New Heights podcast Wednesday. In the conversation, which was between Swift, her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his brother, Jason, the singer revealed that she (somehow?) found time while she was on her Eras Tour in Europe to record Showgirl. "I just love it a lot. I love music," Swift shared. "I would be playing shows. I'd do, like, three shows in a row. I'd have three days off. I'd fly to Sweden, go back to the tour — and actually, like, working on this – I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating." The European leg of Swift's tour took place between May and August of 2024, so if the album was written and recorded in its entirety during that time, it likely couldn't be about Lively, given that the It Ends With Us drama began in earnest in December of that year. But, until Swift or Lively provide more insight, fans are just going to have to wait til The Life of a Showgirl releases on Oct. 3 to find out just who or what the song could be about. All the Easter Eggs Taylor Swift Dropped About Doing the Super Bowl Halftime Show
THE RUNDOWN Fans have been clamoring for Taylor Swift to perform at the Super Bowl for ages, but rumors 2026 might finally be the year started swirling after the Eras Tour star appeared on boyfriend Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast this week. Swifties know that the singer loves to hide 'Easter eggs' hinting at her next move in all sorts of places—in her music videos, on her website, during live performances, and now, perhaps, when talking to Travis and his brother, Jason Kelce. To begin with, Swift openly referred to the Super Bowl Halftime Show, saying she has watched every single one, which means the topic is on her mind. But the other hints were not quite so obvious. A big one is that Swift joked that she thinks about sourdough '60% of the time.' The San Francisco 49ers are hosting the 60th Super Bowl at Levi's Stadium in 2026, and who is their mascot? Sourdough Sam. Both the number and mention of bread types was a big flag to Swift's fans. Speaking of numbers, Swift mentioned the number 47 during the episode, specifically thanking Jason for his intro and screaming for '47 seconds.' Levi's Stadium was Swift's 47th stop on her Eras Tour, leading some listeners to think she would be returning soon. And Swift has talked about 13 being her favorite number in the past, four plus seven is 13, and 2026 will be Travis's 13th NFL season. It all adds up! Finally, Swift has said before that she would not perform a halftime show at the Super Bowl before she owned or rerecorded all of her masters. The star finally bought the original masters back this year after rerecording several of her iconic albums already. And her newest album, The Life of a Showgirl, is coming out in October, making a February Super Bowl show a perfect moment of public triumph.

Insiders Claim Whether Taylor Swift's New Album Has Songs About Donald Trump & Blake Lively
As soon as Taylor Swift announced TS12 coming out, the speculation hit an all-time high. While we know for certain that he main color of this era will be orange, and that the album will be called The Life of a Showgirl, there's not much else known. Fans have speculated what it's inspired by, and some even claim that photos and the track list were leaked, it's all in the air. However, insiders claim we can expect a few things: including songs about US President Donald Trump and Swift's former BFF Blake Lively. Obviously, you're probably wondering: 'A Trump song?! What does that mean?' Well, Swift famously endorsed Kamala Harris, and since then, Trump has made many pointed remarks and disses at her. Per Billboard, he has posted about her a lot on Truth Social, saying, 'I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,' 'The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving,' and 'Has anyone noticed that, since I said 'I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,' she's no longer 'HOT?'' More from SheKnows Kai Trump Reveals Big New Milestone in Photos That Show a Subtle Shift From Grandpa Donald Trump An insider told DailyMail that while TS12 'isn't a political record,' but Swift has a lot to say. '[She was] motivated by the excitement around Kamala last year which is when she recorded some of the songs,' they said. 'Taylor has a point to prove and is ready to silence people who said her career has 'broke' because she went 'woke.'' (And if we're going by the alleged leaked track list, per StyleCaster, it seems like the tenth song, 'Cancelled!' will probably be about this!) Now, what about Lively? As many know, Swift was dragged into Lively's legal drama with Baldoni, with Swift getting added to Baldoni's countersuit. In this countersuit, Baldoni revealed texts, where Lively seemingly referred to Swift as one of her 'dragons' to defend her. At the time, insiders claimed Swift 'doesn't appreciate being referred to as one of Blake's dragons' and 'can't help but feel used,' according to another Page Six article. (There have been reports of a reconciliation, but nothing concrete yet.) The insiders claim that Swift will probably touch on the former friendship, saying, 'She did write about Blake last year, but it's no longer the focus of the album because she wanted it to be positive and feel-good.' (Again, if we check out the leaked lineup, we can infer 'Ruin the Friendship' may be about this situation!)Best of SheKnows 22 Famous Women Who Have Played Roxie in Chicago on Broadway 13 Famous Women You Totally Forgot Elvis Dated Celebrities Who Died Tragically Young: Kelley Mack, Lucy Markovic, & More Solve the daily Crossword
