The royal family let the public in on their ‘secret weapon'
Royal insiders have given the public a rare glimpse into the life of the Princess of Wales, describing the young royal as the family's 'secret weapon' as she marks her 10th birthday.
The second child of the Prince and Princess of Wales has earned a reputation as the boss at Adelaide Cottage, with royal historian Marlene Koenig telling US Weekly, Princess Kate herself said Princess Charlotte is 'independent and the one in charge'.
Whether she's cringing at her parents' public affection or making a fashion statement alongside her stylish relatives, Princess Charlotte's blend of sass and self-assurance has been catching attention for years.
During last year's Trooping the Colour, the princess was seen stepping in to correct her younger brother.
According to reports from professional lip readers, when Prince Louis began dancing to the bagpipes, Charlotte leaned over and said, 'You have to stop doing that. Watch the parade'.
Louis' reply? 'I won't'.
Even her father hasn't been spared.
Prince William once revealed that Princess Charlotte burst into 'floods of tears' after seeing him with a beard, prompting a swift shave.
While she's still years away from official duties, Ms Koenig predicts Princess Charlotte will take on engagements after she turns 18, with her parents focused on giving her a normal childhood for now.
And behind palace gates, 'normal' is exactly what the Wales children are getting.

Footage from the day showed Princess Charlotte accidentally dropping her s'more, only to discreetly eat the fallen biscuit moments later.
The down-to-earth moment won over royal fans online, with many joking, 'even the royals follow the five-second rule'.
Whether she's commanding a parade or toasting marshmallows, Princess Charlotte is carving out her place in royal life—with confidence, charm, and a voice that's already making itself heard.

Kristen Doute gives birth
Kristen Doute has given birth to a baby girl. The Valley star and her fiance Luke Brodrick welcomed daughter Kaia Lily into the world on 11 June and Kristen couldn't be happier, despite the lack of sleep she's already experienced. She told Us Weekly magazine: 'She's here, and we still can't believe it. Luke is even hotter as a dad, and I just feel so lucky. 'And even though I haven't slept or showered in two days, seeing our daughter and finally being able to hold her makes it all worth it. We're completely overwhelmed with love and so grateful for her—our lives are already changed completely.' The couple chose Kaia's name, which is Hawaiian for "the sea", because of their love of the state where they got engaged. Kristen explained: 'We knew we wanted our baby name to have something to do, or revolve around, water. 'Lillies are my favourite flower. They're associated with new beginnings, beauty, and also the name Lily indicates a 'gentle and compassionate nature, suggesting a kind and caring personality.'' Kristen admitted in April she and Luke had already chosen a name for their baby. She told Extra: "She is named." But Luke added: "We're not telling you." Kristen suffered a miscarriage in 2023, and she appreciated the support she subsequently received from her fans. She previously said: "It's been a really wonderful community of women out there who I know have really appreciated me coming out and saying that, as much as I felt really secure in coming out and talking about it because of those women. "This is what I love about being on a reality show, a docuseries, what I love about the good things about social media, is that you are able to find these people that help rally around you, so it makes it a lot easier when you have people to talk to. "And obviously, like, surprise! We did conceive, it worked, so that's also really exciting." Kristen announced her pregnancy in November, revealing that they started trying for a baby at the start of 2024 and had sought the advice of a fertility specialist. She told People magazine: "In late summer, we decided to meet with a fertility specialist to learn about our options and what could be the next step if we decided to go that route. The next month was a whirlwind - getting educated on fertility, and eventually hormone shots and preparing my body for IUI (intrauterine insemination)."

King Charles, Prince William wore black armbands at Trooping the Colour in tribute to Air India crash victims, palace confirms
King Charles and Prince William have paid tribute to the victims of the Air India plane crash tragedy by wearing black armbands during Britain's annual Trooping the Colour parade. King Charles and Queen Camilla were joined by other members of the royal family on Saturday for the high-profile ceremonial event in London, which marks the King's official birthday. Senior working royals including Prince William, Princess Anne and Prince Edward could each be seen wearing a black armband as they rode horseback during the procession. The royal family confirmed via its official social media channels that the armbands were worn as a "mark of respect" to the victims of the plane crash in the Indian city of Ahmedabad last week. "At the request of His Majesty, members of the royal family taking part in the parade wore black armbands as a mark of respect following the Air India tragedy in Ahmedabad this week," a post read on X. In a separate statement, a palace spokesperson also confirmed the King "requested amendments to the Trooping the Colour programme as a mark of respect for the lives lost, the families in mourning and all the communities affected by this awful tragedy". The crash of Air India Flight 171 has been described as one of history's worst aviation disasters, which killed 241 passengers and crew as well as dozens of other people on the ground. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which was bound for London's Gatwick Airport, crashed into a building in Ahmedabad just moments after take-off. British-Indian national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh was the sole survivor. More than 1,000 soldiers and 200 horses participated in the Trooping the Colour procession, which moves from Buckingham Palace and down The Mall to Horse Guard's Parade. Princess Catherine stunned in a teal outfit as she rode in a carriage with her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who smiled and waved to the crowd during the event. The royal family then greeted fans on the Buckingham Palace balcony as a flypast from the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, marked the end of the parade. King Charles broke royal tradition for the second year in a row by not riding by horseback during Trooping the Colour as he continues to battle an undisclosed form of cancer. Charles instead travelled in a carriage alongside Queen Camilla, the same as he did in 2024 when he was first diagnosed with cancer. The parade comes amid reports the King's cancer is successfully being managed but is ultimately incurable, according to a place insider.
