Janmashtami is here once again, bringing with it the joy of celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna. It's a festival that blends devotion with happiness, a time to share love and strengthen our bonds with family and friends.
Many of us take this opportunity to send warm greetings, thoughtful messages, and inspiring quotes that reflect the essence of Krishna's life and teachings.
If you've been searching for meaningful Krishna Janmashtami wishes or messages to make your greetings special, you've come to the right place. We've put together some heartfelt lines and uplifting words to help you spread festive cheer and make this celebration truly memorable.
The Wisdom of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita
Among Hindu scriptures, the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita holds a place of deep reverence. Found within the epic Mahabharata, it is a sacred dialogue between Lord Krishna and the warrior prince Arjuna, containing 700 verses that explore life's purpose, the nature of the soul, and the path to righteousness.
In the Gita, Krishna explains the meaning of life, the importance of karma (action), and the way to attain salvation.
These teachings have been guiding devotees for centuries, offering clarity in times of confusion and strength in times of struggle.
Key Teachings of Lord Krishna
Lord Krishna's words in the Gita touch on every aspect of life:
Karma Yoga – We should perform our duties with dedication, without being attached to the results.
Bhakti Yoga – True devotion and love for God are among the highest virtues.
Gyan Yoga – Knowledge of the soul's immortality gives direction to life and leads us toward liberation.
Swadharma – Fulfilling our own duties is more important than imitating the duties of others.
Sankhya Philosophy – Every action, good or bad, brings results that we must face, so it is wise to always act righteously.
Here, we have mentioned some Bhagavad Gita Quotes so that we all can read them and learn a lesson from them..
'You are what you believe in. You become that which you believe you can become'.
"Change is the law of the universe.
You can be a millionaire, or a pauper in an instant."
"You have the right to perform your duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions."
The soul can never be cut into pieces by any weapon nor burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind..!!
"When meditation is mastered, the mind is unwavering like the flame of a lamp in a windless place."
'When consciousness is unified, however, all vain anxiety is left behind.
There is no cause for worry, whether things go well or ill.'
Your mind is your greatest ally when controlled, but your fiercest enemy when left unchecked—master it to master your life.
'It is better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody else's life with perfection.'
P
erform your duty with dedication, but never let the desire for outcomes control you—true peace lies in detachment.
Whenever there is a decline in righteousness and rise in evil, I manifest to protect the good and destroy the wicked.
You are what you believe—your faith defines your thoughts, your thoughts shape your actions, and your actions become your destiny.
'Happiness is a state of mind and has nothing to do with the external world.'
When a man dwells on the pleasure of sense, attraction for them arises in him. From attraction arises desire, the lust of possession, and this leads to passion, to anger.
From passion comes confusion of mind, then loss of remembrance, the forgetting of duty. From this loss comes the ruin of reason, and the ruin of reason leads man to destruction..!!
A person can rise through the efforts of his own mind; or draw himself down, in the same manner. Because each person is his own friend or enemy.'
'To refrain from selfish acts is one kind of renunciation, called sannyasa; to renounce the fruit of action is another, called Tyaga.'
'There is neither this world nor the world beyond nor happiness for the one who doubts.'
'No one who does good work will ever come to a bad end, either here or in the world to come.'
'Whatever happened, happened for the good. Whatever is happening, is happening for the good. Whatever will happen, will also happen for the good.'
Krishna says: "Arjuna, I am the taste of pure water and the radiance of the sun and moon. I am the sacred word and the sound heard in air, and the courage of human beings.
I am the sweet fragrance in the earth and the radiance of fire; I am the life in every creature and the striving of the spiritual aspirant..!!
By the time midnight comes and the temple bells ring, I find myself smiling without even realizing it. Maybe it's the devotional songs, maybe it's the memories, or maybe it's the thought that somewhere in the heavens, Krishna is smiling too.
So, whether you send a poetic quote, a quick text, or a heartfelt paragraph, remember the best wishes are the ones that carry genuine feeling.
Happy Krishna Janmashtami! May the music of His flute always play in your heart, and may His blessings light your way, today and forever.
Hare Krishna Hare Rama..!!

New generation disconnected from culture, says MLC at Krishna Jayanti celebrations in Mysuru

The Department of Kannada and Culture and the Mysuru district administration celebrated Krishna Jayanti here on Saturday, where speakers underlined the imperatives of transmitting cultural values to posterity. C.N. Manjegowda, MLC, who inaugurated the programme, stressed the importance of introducing children to the essence of history, culture, and Hindu religious texts. He rued that the present generation was disconnected from history, religious values, and culture as compared to the previous generation, and said that it was the responsibility of all to ensure that the richness of our traditions be passed on to the new generation. Mr. Manjegowda said festivals such as the Krishna Janmashtami not only keep the traditions alive, but also impart noble thoughts, culture, and life lessons to the next generation. Selva Pillai Iyengar, Head of the Department of Ancient History and Archaeology at the Karnataka State Open University, in his address, said that Lord Krishna not only embodied every human emotion, but also transcended them, making him a true 'Jagadguru'. Referring to the Bhagavad Gita, he emphasised that Lord Krishna's teachings were not meant for Arjuna alone, but was meant for the whole of mankind. 'Arjuna was only a pretext. The Gita provides answers to every human struggle and shows us how to live — not just successfully, but also peacefully,' he said. The programme was attended by M.D. Sudarshan, Assistant Director of the Kannada and Culture Department, former Deputy Mayor of Mysuru City Corporation Pushpavalli, and others.
