Texas A&M pitcher calls out fans for 'disgusting' criticism amid team's slow start
The Aggies dropped their fourth straight game on Saturday with a loss to Oklahoma State. The team has suffered defeats by Cal Poly, Texas State and Arizona going back to Feb. 23 and only scored seven runs in those four games.
Aggies pitcher Shane Sdao implored fans to take a breath.
"Some of the things that I am seeing on X and Instagram are just absolutely disgusting and ridiculous," Sdao said in a statement posted to his X account. "We all understand that we are not playing to the best of our abilities but the level of hate and disrespect being thrown around is completely unacceptable and out of line.
"At the end of the day, we are all human and no one is more frustrated than we are. We are working everyday to be better and this is not helping at all. No one has any idea what any of us are going through. This doesn't just go for the baseball team, it does for every other sport as well. Let's go back to being Aggie fans instead of acting like opposing team fans. Let's do better. Gig 'Em."
The Aggies dropped to 5-4 with their loss to Oklahoma State and could right the ship against Rice on Sunday.
Texas A&M finished 53-15 last season after starting the year with 17 straight wins. They finished as runner-up to Tennessee in the national championship.

[Texas A&M's 2025 schedule] RJ's take: Despite a 1-4 finish, Mike Elko's program won eight games with two losses to programs who ended up in the semifinals of the 2024 College Football Playoff. But Elko has added playmakers at wideout in former Texas Tech WR Micah Hudson, North Carolina State WR KC Concepcion and Mississippi State WR Mario Craver for Reed to provide service. ADVERTISEMENT And then there's Brady Hart, who's going to be "All He's Scout Team Phenom." He'll be like nectar to a Greek god for broadcasters, who will reach for this story like Bacchus for a fruity IPA at a brewery with the bacchanal broskis. Oklahoma State ranking: 59 Last year's ranking: 15 Top player: CB Jaylin Davies: Player in 38 games in three seasons at UCLA with 20 starts; recorded 105 total tackles, 11 pass deflections, 4 interceptions, and 1 forced fumble. [Oklahoma State's 2025 schedule] RJ's take: It's Year 25 of Mike Gundy at Oklahoma State and Year 20 of his career as head coach. And while the sport has changed, one of the longstanding characters in the sport, Gundy, has not. ADVERTISEMENT He still wants to run the football 45 times a game. He still doesn't care to hire anybody you've ever heard of to call the offense, and his team is as unpredictable year-to-year as Gundy is at any media availability. You just never know how the Pokes are gonna play or what Gundy is going to say: that's Oklahoma State. But last year was by far his and OSU's worst this century. After a 3-0 start, OSU finished 0-9 in conference play, dead last in the Big 12 and hopes to come back from the program's fewest win total since 2000. Doug Meachem and Todd Grantham have been brought in to coordinate the offense and defense, respectively. Gundy let Grantham bring in seven new faces to the program, but old hands to him. Meachem returns to run an offense that he and Gundy know at a place, Stillwater, that both understand. Meachem got to bring in his core team, too. Of the 65 new faces, 18 are transfers that did not arrive until the summer and Gundy is going to expect all 18 to play significant snaps from Week 1.
