Metro31-07-2025
Ozzy Osbourne's loved ones have been joined by the Black Sabbath legend's celebrity friends, and fellow musicians, as they prepared to lay him to rest today.
The rocker died aged 76 on July 22, after a long battle with Parkinson's and other health problems – although no official cause of death has been announced.
The family confirmed the news just weeks after his final show called Back to the Beginning, at which his frailty shocked even his bandmates.
Following an emotional funeral procession through the streets of Birmingham yesterday – where his widow, Sharon Osbourne, was seen sobbing alongside their children – they are gathering to say a final goodbye.
According to reports, his's bandmates are among those making the journey to Buckinghamshire for a private church service, before he will be buried on the grounds of his mansion.
The Sun reports that Yungblud and James Hetfield will be there, with Sir Elton John also thought to be in attendance.
Devastated fans have also left flowers, signs, cards and gifts outside the property in tribute.
An insider previously told the outlet of the plans: 'Sharon and the family want to celebrate Ozzy's life with his fans, with plans for the cortege to travel through Birmingham.
'Tomorrow they will have a closed service at a church in Gerrards Cross, Bucks.
'Singer Yungblud, who became close with Ozzy in recent years, is going to give a reading.
'His Sabbath bandmates, Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler, will be there, along with James Hetfield from Metallica.'
With tributes pouring in for the music icon from around the world, here who is expected to be attending the private funeral.
The Crocodile Rock singer was friends with Osbourne for decades, even collaborating on music together over the years.
Marking Osbourne's death, Sir Elton shared on social media: 'So sad to hear the news of @ozzyosbourne passing away.
'He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods – a true legend. He was also one of the funniest people I've ever met.
'I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love.'
Yungblud has become Osbourne's unofficial protégé over the years, with Osbourne even gifting the star his necklace in a sweet moment.
He said news of Osbourne's death had left him 'truly heartbroken' in a heartfelt message on social media.
'I didn't think you would leave so soon the last time we met you were so full of life and your laugh filled up the room,' he wrote. 'But as it is written with legends, they seem to know the things that we don't.
'I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage.
'Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own. You asked me once if there was anything you could do for me and as I said then and as I will say now for all of us the music was enough.
'You took us on your adventure – an adventure that started it all. I am truly heartbroken. You were the greatest of all time.'
The band, consisting of Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, and Geezer Butler, formed in 1968 and worked together on and off for decades.
A few hours after his loss, Iommi said he 'can't really find the words'.
'I just can't believe it! My dear dear friend Ozzy has passed away only weeks after our show at Villa Park,' he posted.
'It's just such heart-breaking news that I can't really find the words, there won't ever be another like him. Geezer (Butler), Bill (Ward) and myself have lost our brother. My thoughts go out to Sharon and all the Osbourne family. Rest in peace Oz. Tony.'
Not long after, bassist Butler commented: 'Goodbye dear friend – thanks for all those years- we had some great fun. 4 kids from Aston- who'd have thought, eh? So glad we got to do it one last time, back in Aston. Love you.'
Ward, that band's drummer, posted a photo of himself and Osbourne on X, writing: 'Where will I find you now? In the memories, our unspoken embraces, our missed phone calls, no, you're forever in my heart.
'Deepest condolences to Sharon and all family members. RIP Sincere regrets to all the fans. Never goodbye. Thank you forever. Bill Ward.'
James Hetfield was rumoured to be attending, and the rest of the bandmates attendance was confirmed on social media.
A shared post between Robert Trujillo and Metallica read: 'Sadly, we're heading back to London today for Ozzy's funeral. I just want to say…
'Ozzy was the conduit for so many new relationships both creative collaborations and real, lasting friendships.
'I mean, Joe Holmes is Lullah's godfather, and Mike Bordin is Tye's godfather both of those connections came directly from my friendship with Ozzy.
'Because of Oz, Infectious Grooves was able to tour back in '91 as a brand-new band and at the time, it wasn't even really a band, just some fun songs we had recorded. We weren't ready to hit the road, but he made us step up and make it happen.' More Trending
The lengthy post concluded: 'Now it's time to pay our respects, share our love, and offer our support to Sharon and the family. It's heartbreaking but we know Ozzy gave us everything he had in his final days.
'I'm so honored that Lars, James, Kirk, and I (Metallica) got to celebrate with him, to share our music and Sabbath's music on such a special day in Birmingham. Being part of that meant so much to us.
'Ozzy, RIP brother. We love you. @ozzyosbourne.'

Frankie Bridge says ‘you're dead to me' in cryptic post after ‘secret feud' is revealed

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) FRANKIE Bridge has raised eyebrows after saying 'you're dead to me' in a scathing post after appearing to 'snub' former bandmate and friend Rochelle Humes. The Loose Women panellist, 36, took to TikTok to share the damning video, showing her sipping on a glass of rosé wine. Frankie then added below: 'Takes me a while, but once you're dead you're dead.' The Sun has contacted a representative for Frankie for comment. Mum-of-two Frankie and presenter Rochelle, 36, shot to fame together at just 12-years-old in pop group S Club Juniors. Frankie and Rochelle then joined girlband The Saturdays in 2007, going on to enjoy a string of huge hits including Issues, Ego and What About Us. The Saturdays - also made up of Vanessa White, Una Healy and Mollie King - have always insisted their decision to go on indefinite hiatus in 2014 wasn't down to them falling out. Speaking to HELLO! previously, Frankie explained: 'We never fell out. We never really officially broke up or anything, so the option [to get back together] has kind of always been there.' But last month The Sun revealed an apparent 'feud' between Frankie and Rochelle, after they gave each other the cold shoulder at Wimbledon. As guests of sponsor Evian, the pair were invited to watch the tennis in a suite in the sought-after hydrangea building nearCourtOne. But while they mingled with other celebrities and guests just yards away from one another - they failed to actually interact with each other. The I'm A Celebrity clip I use to win any row with Marvin, says Rochelle Humes An insider told The Sun: 'It was clear the women were keeping their distance. They sat on opposite sides of the suite and kept to themselves. 'While Frankie posed for pictures with S Club's Rachel Stevens, Rochelle took selfies with her husband Marvin and his I'm A Celebrity campmate Sam Thompson. 'It was a shame because having the two girls from The Saturdays together for a mini-reunion was exciting for everyone there. 'Even though they were pleasant to each other when they did brush shoulders, they didn't spend any extra time together than they had to, in between being amicable while passing each other en route to watch the tennis.' While Frankie has taken the 'never say never' approach to a potential Saturdays return and Una, 43, has admitted several times she's ready to perform with the girls again, Rochelle previously insisted she 'highly doubts' it will happen.

Kelly Osbourne posts throwback clip about unconventional life on tour with Ozzy

Ozzy Osbourne's daughter Kelly Osbourne has shared throwback footage of herself giving a tour of the late singer-songwriter's dressing room at an event when she was a child A throwback video has been shared by Kelly Osbourne this week following the death of her father Ozzy Osbourne. She's seen giving a tour of his dressing room in the footage, which is filmed when she joined him at a concert years ago. ‌ Kelly, 40, was among the relatives who announced that Ozzy had died, aged 76, last month. Just weeks prior, he had performed on stage for the last time in a farewell concert and the support from fans is said to have surprised him. ‌ Ozzy's retirement came after a decades-long career as a performer, with youngest daughter Kelly present for some of his shows over the years. She's now looked back at one event, sharing a throwback video this week. It comes after Sharon Osbourne breaks down in tears at Ozzy's funeral in heartbreaking scenes. ‌ Kelly shared footage on Instagram earlier that's said to date back to the festival tour Ozzfest in 1997. It had initially been shared by fan account @ozzyslegacy, which wrote: "Kelly giving a tour of Ozzy's dressing room at @theozzfest 1997." She then shared the post, including a snippet of the video, on her Instagram Story this morning. Kelly didn't include a caption on the video, which shows her giving a tour of former Black Sabbath member Ozzy's dressing room. ‌ The video begins with Kelly heading towards the dressing room, with her saying: "So this is my dad's room." She confirms that he isn't in there yet and takes the film crew inside, where she speaks about her experience on tour. Kelly, who would have been twelve at the time, said: "This is where I sit with my dad for about an hour before he goes on stage. He listens to music really loud and he punches the wall, with his boxing gloves, and breaks the wall down." ‌ She went on to reveal that "everything" in the dressing room is marked so that Ozzy "knows where it is". Kelly said in the footage that has resurfaced since his death: "Everything's in the same place, every night, so he can find it." A table in the room is shown to include tea bags, fruit and a can of tuna for the late singer-songwriter. Kelly later showcases his wardrobe, saying: "These are my favourite things." She's then seen taking out some clothing pieces. She said that his "favourite" jacket features fringe sleeves. Kelly however shared at the time: "He never wears them because he says they're uncomfortable." She also highlights several t-shirts, featuring photos of either Ozzy or Black Sabbath, in the video, saying that he has options for sets. ‌ After sharing that he has a drawer of workout clothes and following a glimpse of some dumbbells, Kelly said that Ozzy liked to prank people with stink bombs whilst on tour. She said in the throwback video: "He plays jokes and throws them in all the dressing rooms and it smells so bad." The scene of Kelly giving a tour of his dressing room comes to a close after she shares that his wardrobe includes drawers of underwear and shoes. She said: "He paints his own shoes". One shoe is then shown to the camera, with "I don't give a f***" written on the front of the footwear. ‌ Kelly, who got engaged in front of Ozzy at his farewell concert, recently paid tribute to him in a statement that she shared earlier with fans this month. It came following the late singer's funeral procession and private service. She expressed gratitude for the support she had received. As reported at the time, she wrote in a post on social media just a few days ago: "I've sat down to write this a hundred times and still don't know if the words will ever feel like enough ... but from the bottom of my heart, thank you. ‌ "The love, support, and beautiful messages I've received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain. "Grief is a strange thing - it sneaks up on you in waves - I will not be ok for a while - but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I'm holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind. Thank you for being there. I love you all so much."

Ben Wicks and Colin Barr, Executive Producers at Expectation, say: 'It was an incredible privilege to spend the last few years with Ozzy, as well as Sharon, Jack and Kelly.
