Prime Video fans have just days to watch 'one of the best teen dramas ever'

One of the most iconic teen dramas is about to be removed from Prime Video.
Prime Video fans have just days to watch "one of the best teen dramas ever". Created by Kevin Williamson, Dawson's Creek centred around the lives of a close-knit group of friends in the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts.

The series, which began in high school and continued into college, starred James Van Der Beek as Dawson Leery and Katie Holmes as his best friend and love interest, Joey Potter.

Joshua Jackson and Michelle Williams also appeared as Pacey Witter and Jen Lindley, respectively.

Across its six-season run from 1998 to 2003, Dawson's Creek dealt with several hard-hitting topics such as death, homophobia, class differences, heartbreak, mental health and divorce.
It also paved the way for a wave of hit American teen dramas, including One Tree Hill, The OC, Gilmore Girls and 90210.

However, Prime Video viewers haven't got long to binge the iconic series, as it is set to leave the streaming platform on Wednesday (August 13).
Over 20 years on from its ending, and Dawson's Creek fans are still in love with the show, with many taking to social media to share their praise.
"I love Dawson's Creek from beginning to end. It's my favourite guilty pleasure drama series of all time," one person wrote on IMDb.

Another added: "One of the best shows ever from American television. It's an amazing TV drama that always surprises me."
A third said: "This show is absolutely timeless. It takes you back to your teens where it seemed like anything was possible. Give it a try if you want to be possibly transported back to another time of your life and most likely your youth."

A fourth fan echoed the sentiment, saying: "Dawson's Creek is the show that made me watch TV again. There isn't a better show on TV."
Another similarly shared: "Dawson's Creek is my favourite American teenage drama. It has been replicated but can never be matched."

The news comes after Dawson's Creek fans were recently left excited when former co-stars Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson reunited on the set of a new project.
Their characters, Pacey and Joey, notably had an on-off relationship throughout the noughties classic, before ultimately ending up together.
The pair are now set to play on-screen lovers in a romantic trilogy titled Happy Hours, which has begun filming in New York City.
As well as starring in the films, Katie is also writing and directing, with Dawson's Creek fans eagerly awaiting their release.

Netflix viewers in tears after watching heartbreaking biopic with Hollywood star

Netflix fans have been left in tears after watching The Iron Claw on Netflix, which stars Zac Efron in a role that is worlds away from the Disney Channel film that made him famous Netflix fans have been left in tears after The Iron Claw made its debut on Netflix. The 2023 film stars Zac Efron as wrestling legend Kevin Von Erich, and was released on the streaming platform on Friday, almost two years on from when it first came out in cinemas. ‌ The film charts lives of the Von Erich brothers and their careers, and High School Musical star Zac, 37, stars alongside the likes of Jeremy Allen White, Harrison Dickinson, Lily James and Maura Tierney. A synopsis for the sports drama reads: "The true story of the inseparable Von Erich brothers, who made history in the intensely competitive world of professional wrestling in the early 1980s." ‌ Critics were immediately grabbed by the film's premise, with Rolling Stone's David Fear writing: "It's a messy movie about messy lives, occasionally in ways you wish it wasn't. But The Iron Claw is also a story of redemption… That's partially why Efron's performance is the one that sticks with you." It comes as BBC viewers cringe at Kemi Badenoch's 'fields of wheat' moment. ‌ READ MORE: Zac Efron looks unrecognisable on set with Phoebe Dyvenor as they hold hands for new film One critic said: "Zac Efron really gives it his all in this heartbreaking wrestling film about the Von Erich family. The biopic details the complexity of the family," whilst another added: "As a wrenching American heartland saga, The Iron Claw is certainly compelling, and to anyone unfamiliar with the Von Erichs' history, each jolt of fresh anguish delivered to the family will be startling. " A third shared: 'The Iron Claw looks and feels like a pre-streaming TV movie – and not just any old TV movie but a strangely entertaining, darkly tragic, completely gripping TV movie." ‌ Fans have also been quick to flood social media with their opinions after the film arrived on Netflix. One said: "The ending of the iron claw has just ripped my heart out," and another said bluntly: "Haunting good story, that left me in an emotional wreck. Excellent performance from Zac Efron. Really just hits different." A third said: "Watching the final scene of The Iron Claw and I think someone must have been cutting onions next to me. Seen it like 5 times and it always hits like a punch to the gut." One viewer, who had been particularly moved by the events depicted in the film, said: "The Iron Claw is the saddest fkn film I've ever seen. Who can be happy again after seeing this?! WHO MADE THIS??!!!" and another wrote: "Watching the Iron Claw knowing fully well I would cry but the AMOUNT of crying was underestimated." ‌ The film has also caused a stir on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where it has managed to reach a score of 89%. One reviewer said on the famed movie website: "A tragic story, told impeccably well. More wrestling biopics please! Didn't think this would be one of the best films I've seen, really surprised me... No popcorn needed! Maybe just tissues.' An absolutely fantastic film that had to be dialled down to make it believable. Tragic family story that was worse in real life but too unbelievable to put all in the movie.' A second film buff added: "Phenomenal movie. Amazing performances from the actors. I've lost people close to me so I really felt this one. Truly beautiful movie," and a third said: "Wow. Incredible acting from all performers. It's more about family, masculinity, grief, loss, and mental health than wrestling. One of the best movies I've seen in years actually!" Zac previously reflected on his difficult training for the sports flick. He told USA Today: "You think you're getting the hang of it, and you speed up a few times and your confidence gets built up. Then you slam into one of those things just an inch too high and your rib is like gone. You can't breathe for a couple days. I don't know how these guys do it, man ... it's shocking that first time you do it. You're like, 'This is not as easy as it looks on TV.'" ‌ And around the same time, he explained to Deadline: "Nothing could prepare me for the wrestling. The physical preparation and the training, that's something that I've always found very interesting. I've always admired people's transformations, in particular for movie roles. I just find that dedication fascinating and special when I see it. "So in training for this, I got to train essentially for my championship, my belt match. It all came down to, how precise is my training? How dedicated am I to this? How hard can I push? I think I shed a skin somewhere in those seven months where Kevin was really at the wheel. It felt honest, it felt real. "I felt like I was physically there; I felt mentally there, as a direct result of the training, and then from there, the wrestling, surprisingly, was fun."

American who moved to UK shares three words they never said until ditching States

An American man who is now living in the UK has said there are three British words that have become part of his vocabulary since leaving the US - and he can't stop saying them We may speak the same base language as our cousins across the pond in the US, but there's some British slang that just can't be replicated in any other part of the world. And as one American man who moved to the UK has found out, it's very hard to stop yourself from picking up on the myriad of slang words we have in various parts of the country. ‌ K Jordy currently lives in London, but originally lived in Bristol when he first settled down in the UK after leaving his US roots behind. He is now a successful vlogger who regularly makes content about British life that leaves his viewers in stitches - and his latest TikTok video is no exception. ‌ The man declared in that living in the UK has "changed him", as there are now three English words that he would never say before moving here that he now catches himself uttering every single day. ‌ 1. Quid Brits will know this as a popular slang term for money, specifically as an alternative to "pound". But this is not a word used in the States at all, so K Jordy was surprised when he noticed it had become part of his vocabulary. He said: "I think this is regional, because I first moved to Bristol in the South West of England, and it was so popular. I just love how they [say] quid [for] money. At first it started as a joke, and now I just love saying it. Like, 20 quid." 2. Rubbish Typically known as "trash" in the US, "rubbish" is another staple of the English language that K Jordy insisted he had "never uttered" before moving to the UK. He even claimed that he was forced to swap to using "rubbish" after his co-workers at his first job in a local Wetherspoons pub mocked him for saying "trash". ‌ Warning: The below video contains strong language. He explained: "Rubbish is that one word you hear all the time in British TV shows and British movies. I didn't think I'd actually catch on, but then I almost got kind of made fun of for saying trash. ‌ "One of my first jobs, I worked at Spoons, [and I would say] 'Where's the trash at?', and they'd all be like 'Where's the trash?' [in a mocking tone]. To get out of people making fun of me, I switched to rubbish, and now it's just become part of my vocabulary." 3. Banter K Jordy described "banter" as one of his "favourite words", and said he loves how it encompasses all sorts of chat from having a good sense of humour to flirting with someone. He said: "Banter isn't just joking. It could be joking, flirting, or taking the p**s. It's such a perfect word to describe so much all wrapped into one. And that's why I love it. ‌ "You're on a date with a girl and she has good chat, [you can say] 'Oh mate, she has good banter'. That's why you might like her. Banter. It's goated. I will forever say that." Commenters on K Jordy's video dubbed him an "honorary Brit", with many pointing out that the way he dropped "taking the p**s" into his clip made him "more British" than he might have realised. One person said: "I can hear your British accent forming." Another added: "You have become an honorary Brit!" Someone else from the US also expressed their wish to move to the UK, writing: "I've been watching a lot of Coronation Street lately, and now I want to move to England! Plus, videos of Americans living in the UK keep popping up, which makes me want to move from the US to the UK even more."
