The Internet Clowns Drake For Sending Fiery DM To A Canadian Politician Who Went To Kendrick Lamar Concert

Yahoo17-06-2025
The internet thinks Drake has taken another loss months after his rival Kendrick Lamar delivered a final blow to him at this year's Super Bowl amid their ongoing rap beef.
By now you've probably heard that the Canadian rapper and Compton emcee were at odds for years, with the public rift dramatically reaching new heights last year after Lamar and Drake exchanged accusations of pedophilia, infidelity and drug use against each other in a series of diss tracks.
The quarrel between the artists escalated earlier this year after Drake filed a defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG), accusing the label of spreading a 'false and malicious narrative.'
The '6 God' rapper's lawsuit alleged that UMG intentionally released and promoted Lamar's diss track, 'Not Like Us,' which Drake claims falsely portrays him as a pedophile.
Now, it appears Drake has inadvertently resurrected the feud with Lamar after he called out Canadian politician Jagmeet Singh for recently attending Lamar's concert in his home country. Lamar and SZA made a concert stop in Toronto to perform at the Rogers Centre on June 12 and 13.
On Sunday, Drake revealed on Instagram that he reached out to Singh to slam him for going to the concert.
'You're a goof,' Drake wrote in a DM to the former New Democratic Party leader, which the musician screenshot and showed off on his Instagram story, multipleoutlets reported.
Reps for Drake didn't immediately respond to HuffPost's request for comment.
Social media users on X, formerly Twitter, had a lot to say about Drake boldly blasting Singh.
'This is some high school shit [laugh emoji],' one person wrote. 'I don't know what's funnier, Drake crashing out over a politician going to a Kendrick show or Jagmeet's apologies. It's been over a year and this beef is still so entertaining.'
Another said, 'Ain't no way Drake was crying in Jagmeet Singh's DMs just because he went to see the Kendrick concert.'
'Why is Jagmeet Singh expressing regrets and apologies for going to major, well-attended concert in Toronto?,' someone else questioned before adding, 'He doesn't owe Drake anything.'
A separate user accused Drake of bullying Singh, writing, 'not drake bullying jagmeet singh into apologizing for going to a kendrick concert [crying emoji].'
Another user pointed at the fact that last year, Snoop Dogg apologized to Lamar after the 'Gin & Juice' musician posted Drake's diss song, 'Taylor Made Freestyle,' on his Instagram account.
Comparing the two situations, the X user called out the internet's outrage over Drake's comment to Singh as 'hypocrisy.'
Singh later issued an apology to Drake for attending the show.
'I went for SZA, not Kendrick,' he wrote in a Sunday post on his Instagram Story. 'I was born in this city. I love this city.'
Singh continued, 'But real talk, I get it. I shouldn't have gone at all. OVO and Drake have lifted up this city and [Canada] emoji.'
He wrapped up his message, declaring: 'For me it'll always be Drake over Kendrick.'
Drake has yet to address Singh's apology publicly.

Jason Kelce calls Travis Kelce most 'unique' tight end ever

Travis Kelce is a lot of things: a future Hall of Fame tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, a holder of 12 NFL records, a "New Neights" podcast co-host and, of course, Taylor Swift's boyfriend. In a recent GQ profile of Kelce, his brother, Jason Kelce, added one more identifier to the list. "There will be arguments about him versus Gronk, versus Tony Gonzalez, but I don't think anybody has ever been as unique of a player in that spot," Jason said. To Jason's point, Travis is truly 1-of-1 in several statistical categories. In the Chiefs' two most recent playoff runs, the tight end broke three of legendary wide receiver Jerry Rice's NFL postseason records. He now stands alone as the NFL record-holder for career postseason receptions (172), career postseason 100-yard games (9) and career Super Bowl receptions (35). TRAVIS KELCE: Chiefs TE gushes over Taylor Swift in GQ story: 'We're just two people that are in love' Jason and former Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith talked more about Travis' intelligence and uniqueness as a person and player throughout the article. The elder Kelce brother spoke about a "Travis Moment" from their childhood, when he put together a full Erector set without reading the instructions while Jason and their father, Ed, were still reading them. Smith brought up examples of Travis' ball knowledge from early in the tight end's career, mentioning how he would add his own improvisational tweaks to routes to get open. "Every single pass play, wherever I was going, whatever the concept intended for me to throw, whatever defensive look I was getting, it didn't matter: Travis was open," Smith told GQ. "He was supposed to turn out, but on this one he flipped in, and he was open. He always put his little twist on it, and it worked." Smith pointed to one specific example of Kelce changing a route from a fake shallow cross with a cut back to a real shallow cross with a hesitation step before carrying on when he saw his defender didn't buy the fake. "This is an NFL game!" Smith said. "We had never talked about this! This was not remotely a possibility for him when we installed this play! It turned into a 35-yard gain. This is the brilliance of Kelce." This article originally appeared on USA TODAY: Jason Kelce uses an interesting word to describe brother Travis

Mexico Taps New Deputy Finance Chief as Economic Headwinds Mount

Mexico's president is preparing to nominate Maria del Carmen Bonilla as deputy finance minister after five months without anyone in the ministry's powerful No. 2 post, according to people familiar with the matter. Bonilla has led the ministry's public credit unit, where she designed government bond issuances, since 2021. As deputy finance chief, she would now be charged with helping chart the government's financial strategy.
