This boozy frozen dessert will transport you right to the coasts of Italy: Recipe!
Now today may seem like the perfect day to crack open one of those exquisite, expensive bottles (or even budget wine — we don't judge) and sip on a chilled glass in peace. But, we will forever be the first advocates of being bougie, and so we have for your this scrumptious frozen, boozy dessert you can sip on, with the prosecco being the front and centre spirit star. Trust us, one sip, and you'll be transported to the coasts of Italy — so let's get whipping.
Sgroppino
Ingredients: Lemon sorbet - 3tbsps, vodka - 1/2 ounce, prosecco - 1 ounce, lemon wedge - 1 for garnish
Method: Scoop the sorbet into a sturdy glass and pour in the vodka and prosecco. This is to be whipped till the texture turns somewhat creamy though you do want the consistency to be something that can be sipped on, albeit with a little bit of a bite. Think — slushie-core. This is to be served absolutely chilled, with a lemon for garnish.
If you're wondering a trusty place to get your sorbet from — which will be the main foundation of your boozy, frozen dessert, just make your own! It literally is that easy. A Good Food recipe will direct you to boil 250gms of white caster sugar in 250ml of water with a thick lemon peel. Wait for the sugar to dissolve over 2 to 3 minutes, and then discard the lemon peel. Add the lemon juice to this sugar mixture with a splash of vodka (to make your dessert extra boozy) and pour into a freezer-safe bowl before freezing for at least an hour and a half. And that's it, you have your very own batch of boozy sorbet.

Warning: Any changes to this traditional Cacio e Pepe recipe will draw the wrath of the Italians!
No tongue-in-cheek reel about snapping a bunch of spaghetti down the middle and dumping it in a pot is really complete without some mortified Italians — either in-frame or in the comments section. The decadent food of the tourist-favourite location is easily one of its most mammoth selling points when it comes to culture cred and messing with it is something Italians just won't have. The Italians are up in arms about a tweaked version of the age-old Cacio e Pepe: Here's the traditional recipe The trajectory of the Cacio e Pepe controversy is also somewhat similar. A Good Food recipe of the traditional dish found itself under legal fire from the Fiepet Confesercenti, an association representing restaurants in Italy, for the tweaked version it presented, the parmesan cheese and butter being the bones of contention. While adding some butter, cream or a cheese of your choice may not feel like a big deal, meddling in the texture and natural trajectory of the Cacio e Pepe has clearly been triggering. Come to think of it, the original recipe has all of 3 ingredients (no, literally) and can be made in quite a jiffy, IF done the right way. Cacio e Pepe — the traditional way Ingredients: Whole black peppercorns - 1/2tbsp, finely grated pecorino romano - 2.5 cups, spaghetti - 250gms, salt for the pasta water Method: Bring some water to a boil in a pot — keep in mind to not take as much water as you would to usually cook 250gms of pasta, the recipe asks for it to be significantly less. Salt the water as it comes to a boil. As this happens, grate the pecorino romano and crush the peppercorns in a mortar and pestle reserving about 1.5tsps of the coarse powder. Add the spaghetti into the water now and cook it only halfway through before taking off heat — it will finish cooking later in the pan. Put said pan on heat and toast 1.5tsps of the pepper powder for a minute max till aromatic. Be sure to not burn this. Now add a ladle of pasta water and wait till the pepper has infused with it before going in with the spaghetti. Cook this medium heat till it feels al dente, constantly tossing to allow the starch to release into the pan and amplify that creamy effect. Add a splash of pasta water to the pecorino romano and mix with a fork to achieve a paste-like texture. Once the pasta is cooked, take it off heat and add the former. Give it a good toss till all the starchy components fuse. Serve with a slight dusting of pepper powder and pecorino romano. (recipe from Pina Bresciani) While this recipe does require some tedious skill in the kitchen, it's hardly something unachievable. So will you be giving this traditional Roman recipe an authentic shot?

Officials told to ensure 100% e-KYC compliance of ration card holders
Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs K.H. Muniyappa directed officials to ensure that the e-KYC of all ration card holders was completed at the earliest. He was speaking at the Mysuru divisional-level officers' meeting held here on Friday. Urging the officials to expedite the completion of the e-KYC process, the Minister said steps should be taken to make sure that the ration card holders complete the e-KYC norms. Setting a month's deadline for the completion of the exercise, the Minister said that ration card holders should also be warned that their ration supply could be withheld, pending e-KYC completion. Officials were instructed to constitute committees to create public awareness at the district level. On the vacancies in the Legal Metrology Department, Mr. Muniyappa said that steps will be initiated to fill up vacancies in due course. He also directed the officials to ensure the safe preservation of the food grains stored in go-downs and those procured under the Minimum Support Price scheme. Manoz Jain, Secretary, Departments of Food and Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs, Legal Metrology, Planning, Programme Monitoring, and Statistics, said that vacant posts in the department will be temporarily assigned to other officers while vacant posts of food inspectors will be handled temporarily by revenue inspectors of the Revenue Department. Mr. Jain instructed that Aadhaar cards of people from other States be verified, and that ration supplies be ensured even to hilly areas and remote places in Chamarajanagar district where only 10 to 15 houses exist. On the e-KYC exercise, Mr. Jain said that ration shopkeepers must tell members with incomplete e-KYCs that their food supplies will be withheld, and signatures must be obtained from the members as proof of having been informed. Vasireddi Vijaya Jyothsna, Commissioner, Food and Civil Supplies Department, said that nearly 1.69 lakh people have not completed their e-KYC, and hence mooted the idea of giving a little more time for single-member ration card holders to comply with the e-KYC. Officials and staff from various departments, including M.S.N. Babu, Controller of Legal Metrology, and Jagadish M.K., Commissioner, Food and Civil Supplies Department, were present.
