Rangers 'reject' first Hamza Igamane bid from Lille as exact difference in transfer valuation finally made clear
Rangers have reportedly turned down Lille's first offer for Hamza Igamane after they French club finally made their move.
Igamane impressed in his debut Ibrox campaign - netting 16 goals for the Light Blues after a £1.7million move from AS FAR last summer.
That has sparked discussions with the Ligue 1 side over a potential move - with And Rangers new owners 49ers Enterprises are determined to land a bumper profit in the 22-year-old with the Glasgow giants holding out for a £15million payday.
And while Igamane has already agreed personal terms over a move no formal bid has been tabled - with Lille president Olivier Letang previously admitting the club were in no hurry to get a deal done.
But La Voix Des Sports report that the club have finally made a formal move with a £13million offer put on the table - but the Scottish Premiership side have reportedly stuck to their valuation and turned down the offer.
Lille are said to feel a deal is "stuck" at this stage with Rangers now unwilling to lose the striker before their Champions League qualifier with Panathinaikos next Tuesday.
Rangers "will be given time" to assess the situation following their clash with the Greek side and find a replacement - but it is expected a deal could be done should they "raise their bids"
Speaking about the frontman last week, Lille supremo Olivier Letang confirmed interest with a deal deadlocked: "He is indeed a player we are following, but we have not yet made any offers to his club."
Rangers' boss Russell Martin has been unmoved by the speculation with Igamane reporting for the pre-season training camp at St George's Park.
However, the Morocco international was a notable absentee from the team that played in a closed-door friendly against Barnsley to round off the week of training - missing the clash with the Tykes alongside Cyriel Dessers, who has also been tipped for a move to AEK,

Conor Coady pleads for Rangers transfer green light from Leicester as star wary of ticking Champions League clock
We understand Coady is set to heap pressure on the EFL Championship club to sanction his move in time to be registered for the Champions League qualifiers Conor Coady is set to plead with Leicester City bosses to be omitted from the club's pre-season tour - in order to seal his summer switch to Rangers this week. Record Sport understands the 32-year-old hopes to be given permission to move north before the end of this week - in order to join preparations for next week's Champions League qualification first leg clash with Panathinaikos. The former England international has asked to be given game time during Leicester's summer friendlies as he attempts to fine tune his own fitness levels ahead of his move to Ibrox. But the deal has been placed on pause while bosses at the King Power have been scrambling to get ready for their return to the Championship following Premier League relegation. Leicester are the only club in English football to remain managerless ahead of the new campaign with a move to appoint Spaniard Marti Cifuentes still bogged down in red tape. The former Queens Park Rangers boss is believed to be waiting for a visa to be rubber stamped before setting up a new home in the East Midlands - and there have been suggestions that Cifuentes could block Coady's exit as he weighs up his defensive options. But Record Sport understands Coady has set his heart on becoming a linchpin of Russell Martin's new look side and has been pushing behind the scenes for the deal to be rubber-stamped and signed off ahead of Leicester leave to set up a 10 day long pre-season training camp in Austria on Wednesday. Ironically, the club has been searching for a new manager for most of the summer, since Martin declined an offer to take over as Ruud van Nistelrooy's successor and headed to Rangers instead. Martin is a huge admirer of Coady and it's believed the player is desperate to team up with him at Ibrox. But Coady is also aware that Rangers are racing against the clock to be ready for the crucial double header against the Greek big guns, with the first leg in Glasgow in less than a week's time. Martin's recruitment drive gathered pace on Tuesday when 21-year-old winger Djeidi Gassama clinched a £2.2 million move from another of England's crisis clubs, Sheffield Wednesday. The Frenchman has penned a four year contract to become the seventh signing of a hectic summer rebuild following the captures of Lyall Cameron, Max Aarons, Joe Rothwell, Manny Fernandez, Thelo Aasgaard and Nasser Djiga. Now Coady hopes to be given the green light to become Martin's next major reinforcement before the end of this week. Djeidi Gassama will get Rangers fans on the edge of their seats
The former Paris St Germain player has agreed a four-year contract. Gassama, 21, made one appearance for the French side alongside Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe before joining Wednesday in 2023 and scored 12 goals in 84 games for the Owls. The France Under-20 international has now moved to Glasgow for an undisclosed fee, understood to be about £2.2million. 💙 Welcome to Rangers, Djeidi Gassama. — Rangers Football Club (@RangersFC) July 15, 2025 Martin told Rangers' website: 'We are very excited to bring Djeidi to the club. He is certainly an exciting player who will get supporters on the edge of their seats and I believe he will add an extra dimension to our attack with his qualities. 'He is hungry to improve as a player and, most importantly, is desperate to pull on the Rangers jersey and help deliver success to the club.' Gassama added: 'I am very excited to start with my new club, it is a club with a lot of history and I am very happy. This is a big club, and I need that for my next level and I think it can help me progress.' Gassama had the best of tuition as an up-and-coming player. He trained at PSG alongside world superstars Messi, Mbappe and Neymar and he believes that has stood him in good stead for his football journey, which continues in Glasgow. He said: 'I started playing when I was young and then I played for the under-19's at PSG and made my debut. 'It was crazy to be in a team with players like Messi, Mbappe, Neymar. 'It was a good experience for me to train with them, I learned a lot of things about the gym, what they do on and off the pitch. 'They give 100 per cent and when you see them, you have to do the same and even the training with them is like a game. 'The last two years moving to Sheffield, they gave me a good progression and a good experience in English football. 'I took my chance and now I am here and I think I can continue to improve here.'

Newcastle insist Alexander Isak not for sale amid Liverpool interest in star man
The PA news agency understands there has been no formal contact between the two clubs over a player who is the subject of long-standing interest from Anfield. However, sources on Merseyside have indicated Isak is among a series of options being considered this summer as the Reds look to bolster their attacking options in the wake of the death of Diogo Jota and the possible departures of Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa. The frontman, who is currently at a pre-season training camp in Austria with his team-mates, still has three years remaining on his contract on Tyneside and the Magpies, who are trying to tie him to a new deal, remain adamant he is going nowhere. It is understood they have put a value on him of around £150million in an attempt to ward off potential suitors. Indeed, sources in the north east have insisted the club's ongoing pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike, who has also been linked with Liverpool, is no indication they are seeking a replacement for the Swede, but rather a new team-mate. Newcastle's majority owners, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, have the financial clout to resist any approach should they remain steadfast in their determination to hang on to a player who is understood not to be agitating for a move. But in the age of profit and sustainability rules – head coach Eddie Howe was forced to sell Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh last summer to avoid a points deduction – a formal bid which would all but double their money inside three years might at least cause them to pause for thought. LOOK AT THOSE SCENES 😍😍😍 — Newcastle United (@NUFC) March 16, 2025 Neither club has commented on the situation, which will prompt frenzied speculation on the banks of both the Mersey and the Tyne. Isak, who has also been repeatedly linked with Arsenal, has been one of the flag-bearers for Newcastle's return to prominence under their new owners. His goals last season helped to fire the club into the Champions League for the second time in three years, and it was his strike at Wembley in March that effectively secured a 2-1 Carabao Cup final victory over Liverpool which ended the Magpies' 70-year wait for a major domestic trophy. Meanwhile, Liverpool have told Bayern Munich Luis Diaz is not for sale after rejecting a £59million bid. PA understands the Bundesliga champions' offer of 67.5million euros (£58.6m) was immediately dismissed, in keeping with the club's stance which saw them rebuff an approach from Barcelona earlier in the summer. Diaz is in the last two years of his contract and, while talks have not progressed over a new deal, privately Liverpool insist he remains an important player and interested clubs are being told that. There is also a long-standing interest from the Saudi Pro League in the 28-year-old Colombia international. Liverpool have rejected a £59million bid from Bayern Munich for Luis Diaz (Mike Egerton/PA) Al-Hilal's failed 100m euros (£87m) bid for Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, who is two years older, is viewed by some as a benchmark valuation for an elite attacker in the domestic and global market, but regardless there remains no appetite to sell. Only a few weeks ago Diaz hinted at uncertainty over his future by claiming his representatives were openly discussing his options. 'We are currently in contact with Liverpool, because we are talking to clubs, and that's normal given the transfer market that's opening,' he said last month. 'We're trying to arrange what's best for us.'
