Speaking to the reporters in Malegaon, Raut affirmed the party's preparedness for the upcoming civic polls. He added that senior party leaders are currently touring various parts of the state where these elections are slated to be held, engaging with local party office-bearers.
"We are prepared for the coming civic polls. The local leaders in respective municipal corporations will decide whether to contest upcoming civic polls as MVA or contest independently," the official said.
Alleging that the Mahayuti ruling partners in the state won the state assembly polls by managing EVMs and using money power, Raut said the BJP delayed the civic polls in the state as it was not sure of winning. "However, the civic polls are now being held in the coming few months as per the directive of the Supreme Court," the MP said.
Raut also criticised CM Devendra Fadnavis for holding Kumbh Mela meeting in Nashik on Sunday.
"Kumbh Mela was held recently at Prayagraj. Instead of keeping people stuck in the Kumbh Mela, the CM should come and see the roads of Malegaon. He should work in Maharashtra. Kumbh Mela minister Girish Mahajan is efficient enough to carry out the preparations," Raut said.

Livestock markets allowed from June 3 to 8 at APMCs
Mumbai: Under criticism for its advisory to the Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs) against holding livestock markets between June 3 and June 8 across the state for Bakr Eid, the Maharashtra Gauseva Ayog, a commission for the welfare of cows and their progeny, revoked its May 7 advisory. After animal husbandry officials informed the meeting headed by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on June 2 that the ban on holding livestock markets between June 3 and 8 was revoked, the commission issued a fresh advisory on June 3, stating only the sale and purchase of cows and their progeny would be banned. "We raised the issue with the CM, citing the law which does not give the commission any rights to issue such an advisory. The animal husbandry department intervened. The commission has the rights to only recommend, not to pass any advisory or order. I am glad now livestock markets will be organised, and animals which are allowed for slaughter (buffaloes, goats, sheep, lambs) can be sold," said Samajwadi Party MLA Rais Shaikh. Congress MLA Amin Patel, who also attended Monday's meeting chaired by the CM at Sahyadri Guesthouse, said it was a big relief to animal traders, farmers and the community at large. "Farmers and traders wait for the whole year to get a good price for livestock during Bakr Eid festival. Village markets run by APMCs are where most villagers sell and buy livestock during Bakr Eid, and the advisory had upset many," said Patel, who also suggested the modernisation of the BMC-run Deonar abattoir. Imran Babu Qureshi of All India Jamiatul Quresh said, "Anyway, the slaughter of cows and their progeny is prohibited. Our demand was to lift the ban on holding markets for livestock permitted for slaughter."tnn

PM Modi not making it to G7 Summit a diplomatic bungle: Opposition
Congress on Tuesday alleged "a big diplomatic bungle" behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi not making it to the G7 Summit in Canada. Pointing out that Modi and his predecessor Manmohan Singh have been attending the G7 summits during their respective tenures in office until now, Congress communication in-charge Jairam Ramesh said, "But now, for the first time in six years, Vishwaguru will not be in attendance at the Canada summit. Whatever spin may be given, the fact remains that this is yet another big diplomatic bungle - after the blunder of allowing the US to overturn decades of Indian foreign policy by mediating between India and Pakistan and allowing American authorities to call for continued talks at a 'neutral site'." Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said not getting an invite to G7 was an insult to India and demanded an explanation from the external affairs minister. "You should ask the prime minister and his supporters to give an answer. We felt bad and considered this an insult to India that our country has not been invited. (EAM) Jaishankar ji should give an answer," Raut said at a presser here. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Promoções imperdíveis de voos baratos Voos | Anúncios de Pesquisa Saiba Mais Undo

Kurla dairy land will be used for ineligible Dharavi residents' rehab
Mumbai: Around 85,000 slum households ineligible for free housing will be rehabilitated in rental housing outside Dharavi. On Tuesday, the state cabinet formally approved the transfer of 21.25 acres of Kurla dairy land to the Dharavi Redevelopment Project. In a press release, the govt said 8.5 lakh people are to be rehabilitated under the project, of whom five lakh will be rehabilitated in Dharavi and 3.5 lakh outside the Dharavi Notified Area (DNA). In a presentation of the master plan to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis last week, it was mentioned that 4.85 lakh people will be rehabilitated in Dharavi Notified Area. This includes 2.92 lakh eligible slum dwellers, 1.06 lakh sale component population, 51,025 residing in properties excluded from redevelopment, 15,000 residing in private properties, 3,711 in railway quarters, and 16,425 is the anticipated population growth during the period of redevelopment. During the presentation before the CM, it was pointed out that the state revenue dept, which owns the Kurla dairy land, needs to grant permission to sub-lease the land to the housing societies. Without the sub-lease clause in place, the implementation of the project on the plot cannot be undertaken. Sources said the cabinet approved the sub-lease, which will place the land in the Occupancy Class II category. "After five years of the construction of the residential buildings, the housing societies will be given the option of converting the leasehold land to freehold," said sources. The Navbharat Mega Developers Pvt Ltd (NMDPL), the special purpose vehicle (SPV) set up by the state govt in a joint venture with the developer Adani Realty to implement the redevelopment project, has already paid Rs 58 crore for the Kurla dairy land, which is 25% of the Ready Reckoner Rate for the plot. The SPV is already in physical possession of the plot. "Today's decision will pave the way for the rehabilitation of ineligible citizens of Dharavi. This decision is very important in pursuing the Housing for All policy as it will facilitate the construction of not only houses but also other civic amenities like schools, hospitals, shopping complexes...," stated the press release. The redevelopment on the Kurla dairy land and other plots outside Dharavi will be carried out under Regulation 33(10) of DCPR 2034. The floor space index allowed is a sum of rehab plus sale component in equal proportion and can exceed 4 without any limit. Besides, permission for simultaneous construction of the sale component can be granted in equal proportion to the rehab component.
