Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham undergoes shoulder injury and set to miss early part of season
The club said in a brief statement that the England international needed surgery 'to address recurrent dislocation of his left shoulder.' The procedure was 'successful,' it added.
'Bellingham will now undergo a period of rehabilitation, prior to returning to training and starting his recovery,' the club's statement said.
Madrid did not say for how long Bellingham will be sidelined, but Spanish media reported he could be out two to three months.
Madrid opens its La Liga campaign on Aug. 19 against Osasuna.

FC Barcelona adds more firepower with Marcus Rashford loan
The post FC Barcelona adds more firepower with Marcus Rashford loan appeared first on ClutchPoints. FC Barcelona has secured another attacking threat, agreeing to a deal with Manchester United for Marcus Rashford on loan until June 30, 2026, per ESPN. The agreement includes an option for a permanent transfer, reportedly set at around €30 million ($34.9 million). Rashford, who will wear the No. 14 jersey, expressed excitement about his fresh start in Catalonia, calling Barcelona a club 'where dreams come true.' The move comes at a crucial point in Rashford's career. Once regarded as one of Europe's brightest young talents, the 27-year-old forward has struggled to find consistency in recent seasons, spending part of last year on loan at Aston Villa after falling out of favor at United. He had also been training separately from the first team in Manchester after coach Ruben Amorim made it clear he wasn't in his plans. Now, Rashford gets the opportunity to reignite his career on one of football's biggest stages. A new piece for Barcelona's loaded attack Barcelona, the reigning LaLiga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Supercopa champions, already boasts an impressive attacking trio of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski. Rashford's arrival adds depth, versatility, and valuable experience to the front line as the team prepares for another demanding campaign. The Catalan club initially targeted Spain international Nico Williams this summer, but his decision to sign a long-term extension with Athletic Bilbao redirected their attention toward Rashford. Despite having one of the most prolific attacks in Europe last season, Barcelona clearly wanted one more piece to maintain their competitive edge, especially as they aim to go deeper in the Champions League after falling to Inter Milan in the semifinals. Rashford, who came through Manchester United's youth system and debuted for the first team at 18 in 2016, now has a chance to revive his career while helping Barcelona chase more silverware. For both the player and the club, this deal has the potential to be transformative. Dave Allen set to face Arslanbek Makhmudov in October heavyweight headliner
A local headliner awaits fan-favorite heavyweight Dave Allen. Doncaster's Allen is set to face Canadian-based Russian heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov on Oct. 11 at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield, England, sources close to the situation told Uncrowned. Allen vs. Makhmudov will serve as the main event of a DAZN-streamed show promoted by Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing. Allen (24-7-2, 19 KOs) earned a career-best win in May in London when he knocked out the undefeated Matchroom prospect Johnny Fisher in the fifth round. It was a rematch of their first contest, which took place this past December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Fisher won a contentious split decision on that occasion, although many felt that Allen deserved the nod. Following Allen's second win over Fisher, Hearn's Matchroom exercised a two-fight option on Allen. The first of those bouts will be against Makhmudov. In December 2023, now-top-10 heavyweight Agit Kabayel shocked Makhmudov (20-2, 19 KOs) and ended his unbeaten run. Makhmudov rebounded with a win in May 2024 but was stopped again by Guido Vianello this past August in Quebec. After knocking out Ricardo Brown in June, Makhmudov is set for another chance in a big heavyweight fight. Also expected to land on the Oct. 11 fight card is a British and Commonwealth middleweight title defense for Kieron Conway (23-3-1, 7 KOs) against George Liddard (12-0, 7 KOs), as well as the English super welterweight title rematch between Junaid Bostan (10-0-1, 8 KOs) and Bilal Fawaz (9-1-1, 3 KOs). Liddard and Conway were both on the Fisher vs. Allen 2 undercard, where they produced impressive stoppage victories. Their domestic encounter represents a crossroads matchup between a top prospect on an upward trajectory and a battle-hardened contender looking to work his way back up to another big fight at the world level.
