One UI 8 Beta Now Available For Older Galaxy S24 Models And Galaxy Z 6 Foldables
Samsung has started the One UI 8 roll out for the older Galaxy devices as we had expected. The new Android 16-based update made its debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 launch in July and now more devices are getting the One UI version that will be coming to other models later this year.
Samsung lets them sign up for the One UI 8 public beta program to receive the Android 16-based version which will eventually come in the full release later this year. Samsung's One UI 7 issues are well known so it seems the brand is looking to redeem with its efforts for One UI 8 version, bringing it before Google on its new products.

Galaxy S24 Plus
Galaxy S24 Ultra
Galaxy S24 FE
Galaxy Z Fold 6
Galaxy Z Flip 6
The brand is giving emphasis to major UX and AI updates with the new version. Samsung says, 'One UI 8 will also recognize your context, offering personalized, proactive suggestions that support your unique daily routine."
But to make sure that the AI data processing is secure, the company is going to have more flexibility with the One UI 8 update. The new One UI 8 Watch edition is also coming to a host of Galaxy Watch versions and their beta roll out has also started.
The company has also confirmed that the 2025 Galaxy S25 series, which has four models, will be getting the One UI 8 official roll out in September. The brand has not given the exact date but we should expect the new Android 16 update to be available in the next few weeks.

News18 India has achieved a historic milestone of 100 gigawatts (GW) of solar PV module manufacturing capacity registered under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), marking a significant leap in the country's renewable energy journey. Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, called it a 'remarkable rise" from just 2.3 GW in 2014, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision and initiatives like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for High-Efficiency Solar Modules. He said the achievement strengthens India's path toward Atmanirbhar Bharat and its target of 500 GW non-fossil capacity by 2030. The Government of India's commitment is to make India self-reliant in solar PV manufacturing and establish the country as a major player in the global value chain. This commitment is supported through a comprehensive set of initiatives, including the PLI Scheme for High Efficiency Solar PV Modules and measures to provide a level playing field for the Indian manufacturers. The catalytic effect of these interventions has resulted in an expansion in solar module manufacturing capacity, from just 2.3 GW in 2014 to over 100 GW today. This reinforces India's commitment to achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and contributes meaningfully to global decarbonization efforts. The ALMM Order was issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) on 02nd January 2019. The first ALMM list for solar PV modules was published on 10th March 2021 with an initial enlisted capacity of around 8.2 GW. In just over four years, this capacity has grown more than twelvefold, crossing the 100 GW mark. This remarkable expansion is not just limited to depth of capacity achieved, but by the breadth of the number of manufacturers who has also significantly increased from 21 in 2021 to 100 manufacturers, who are operating 123 manufacturing units currently. This growth includes contributions from both established companies and new entrants, many of whom have adopted high-efficiency technologies and vertically integrated operations. The result is a diverse and competitive manufacturing landscape capable of meeting domestic needs and serving global markets. Zerodha WhatsApp-Based Kite Backup: India's largest stockbroker Zerodha has launched Kite Backup, a WhatsApp-based emergency system that allows traders to square off open positions and cancel pending orders if its primary platforms – Kite web and mobile – ever go down during market hours. Trading platforms are highly complex, with multiple systems linked to exchanges, data centres, and cloud providers. Despite several layers of redundancy, a rare technical glitch at any point can disrupt trading. To provide an additional safety net, Zerodha has created this fully independent backup channel. Unlike the regular Kite systems that run on Amazon AWS and are protected by Cloudflare, the new WhatsApp-based setup is hosted on Microsoft Azure and connects directly to multiple order management systems (OMS) in physical data centres. It does not rely on Kite's primary infrastructure, ensuring that even if AWS or Cloudflare face outages, users can still exit positions. Limitations The Kite Backup system over WhatsApp is designed to be a last resort in case all primary trading platforms become unavailable. It is NOT designed to be a trading or investment platform. The WhatsApp Flow offers only a rudimentary interface that permits very few interactions. You can view holdings, margins, open orders and positions. Open orders and positions can be squared off. New orders or any other advanced features are not available. The backup system offers redundancy over Kite's trading systems and infrastructure, such as Amazon AWS and Cloudflare, which Kite depends on. However, it does not offer redundancy over the core OMS (Order Management Systems) located in physical data centres.
