
HM King visits Royal Bahraini Air Force

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, paid a visit to the Royal Bahraini Air Force (RBAF) at Isa Air Base today.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was welcomed by Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), and was accompanied by Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander. Senior military officials, including Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff, and Air Vice-Marshal Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Commander of the RBAF, were also present.
During the visit, His Majesty inspected newly inducted fighter jets—among the most advanced in the world—highlighting the BDF's ongoing efforts to modernize its military capabilities. He was briefed on future development plans aimed at strengthening the RBAF with state-of-the-art systems.
His Majesty praised the professionalism and preparedness of RBAF personnel and their coordinated efforts with other BDF units in safeguarding the Kingdom. He also lauded the contributions of Bahraini women in the military and their role in national progress.
Before concluding the visit, His Majesty extended his greetings and appreciation to all RBAF members, wishing them continued success in their mission to defend the nation.

Bahrain elected to UN Women Executive Board for 2026–2028
Lulwa Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), emphasised that Bahrain's election to the Executive Board of UN Women for the 2026–2028 term reflects the Kingdom's growing international role in women's advancement. She attributed the achievement to the efforts of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW, whose support has been key to empowering Bahraini women and advancing their leadership. Al Awadhi noted that Bahrain secured one of five Asia-Pacific seats, alongside Japan, China, the Republic of Korea and the Philippines, underlining its global standing in supporting women's advancement. She added that this is Bahrain's second term, following its previous membership from 2017 to 2019. Al Awadhi said that this achievement crowns a series of national milestones in advancing Bahraini women, who now hold key roles in decision making and leadership and have contributed significantly to the Kingdom's development. Empowerment Al Awadhi highlighted that Bahrain's term coincides with the third edition of the Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women's Empowerment. The award, held in cooperation with UN Women, reinforces Bahrain's commitment to global best practices. Al Awadhi emphasised that Bahrain will use its membership to support the efforts of UN Women and contribute to the formulation of global policies and strategies that empower women, enhance their role in building societies and achieving sustainable development goals, and advance their participation in technology, science, and various domains, in line with Bahrain's longstanding principles of equality and equal opportunity.

Bahrain Defence Force Commander Hosts High-Level Meetings and Eid Greetings
Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), held a series of official meetings on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, with senior government officials and military leaders at the BDF headquarters. In the first meeting, the Commander-in-Chief received His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Minister of Defence Affairs, along with several senior BDF officers. The delegation extended heartfelt Eid Al-Adha greetings to Shaikh Khalifa, wishing him continued good health and happiness on the occasion. The Commander-in-Chief praised the Ambassador's efforts in strengthening Bahrain-UK relations, highlighting the importance of continued diplomatic cooperation across various sectors.
