Brunei celebrates 64th anniversary of royal armed forces

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Brunei celebrated the 64th anniversary of its royal armed forces with a series of events across the nation, featuring a grand military parade, exhibitions, and school activities, local media has reported. According to the local daily Borneo Bulletin on Tuesday, the DES School in Brunei recently hosted a special event to celebrate the courage and commitment of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). Students wore navy, army, and air force uniforms and engaged in activities highlighting national service and honoring the RBAF's role in maintaining peace. According to reports, among the series of celebrations across the sultanate, the grandest event was the military parade held on Saturday at Brunei's Muara Naval Base. Brunei's Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the deputy sultan, attended the event and commended that the RBAF has shown remarkable progress. A static exhibition was also held at Muara Naval Base. Royal Brunei Air Force personnel engaged with visitors, and a range of military assets and informative materials were displayed in the exhibition, reflecting the unique responsibilities of army units and highlighting the breadth of the air force's operational capability. Brunei's Ministry of Defence said in a press release that this year's celebration, under the theme "Together United to Achieve the Nation's Aspirations," embodies the spirit of unity and the RBAF's commitment to uphold its core values alongside the Malay Islamic Monarchy philosophy, towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035. Brunei is a Southeast Asian country located in the northern part of Borneo Island, with 346,500 citizens in 2024. The sultanate is a major oil and gas producer in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

TDT | Manama His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, yesterday visited the Royal Bahraini Air Force (RBAF). During the visit, HM the King inspected a number of newly inducted fighter jets, underscoring Bahrain's commitment to strengthening its air defense capabilities. The newly acquired aircraft are among the most advanced fighter jets globally, reflecting the ongoing efforts to enhance the operational readiness and effectiveness of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) across its various units. Upon arrival at Isa Air Base, HM the King was received by Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF). His Majesty was accompanied by Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander. Also in attendance were Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff; Air Vice-Marshal Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Commander of the RBAF, and senior officers. The RBAF Commander then briefed HM King Hamad on ongoing plans to further modernise the force with cutting-edge systems. His Majesty expressed appreciation for the dedication and professionalism of the RBAF personnel, noting their high combat readiness and skill.
