"Today I was playing really, really well, especially during (the first) two-and-a-half sets... so very happy," said top seed Sinner. "I don't think there's much I could improve," said the Italian reacting to his win.
Sinner will face Russia's Andrey Rublev in the fourth round, who advanced after France's Arthur Fils withdrew due to injury.
The Italian champion has been impressive since returning from a three-month doping ban at the Italian Open in May, where he reached the final before losing to Roland Garros champion Carlos Alcaraz.
Sinner has maintained his exceptional form at Roland Garros, not dropping a single set while extending his Grand Slam winning streak to 17 matches following his victories at the 2024 US Open and Australian Open.

Mirra Andreeva, seeded sixth, continued her impressive run by defeating Kazakhstan's Yulia Putintseva 6-3, 6-1 in 78 minutes. "I felt a little nervous before the match, but overall, throughout I felt like I could do whatever I want on the court," said Andreeva.
"Like, you know, I felt free.
I felt like even though the match is tight and even though sometimes she plays very tough shots, I felt like as soon as I recover and the point starts again, I felt like I can create what I want. It felt nice, honestly. I'm happy that with every match I play, I feel better and better. I think that this is a good thing," said Andreeva.
The 18-year-old will next face Daria Kasatkina, ranked 17th, who defeated Spanish 10th seed Paula Badosa 6-1, 7-5.
Kasatkina, now representing Australia, advanced after switching allegiance from Russia. Despite competing in only her ninth Grand Slam event, Andreeva has reached the second week in five tournaments.

D Gukesh beats former World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen from a losing position in Norway Chess 2025
World Champion Dommaraju Gukesh on Sunday made an amazing comeback to defeat former World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen in Round 6 of the ongoing Norway Chess 2025 tournament. The win was Gukesh's first-ever classical victory over the Norwegian grandmaster. The 19-year-old also became the second Indian player to beat Carlsen in the history of the competition after Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa. Carlsen had an upper hand over Gukesh for most of the time in the match, but in the end, he couldn't control his nerves, and the teenager turned the tables around and went on to win the match. With this win, D Gukesh jumped to third spot in the Norway Chess 2025 points table with 8.5 points, and now he is just one point behind Carlsen and American Fabiano Caruana. Earlier on May 27, the marquee clash of Round One at Norway Chess 2025 lived up to expectations as Magnus Carlsen launched a classic king hunt to defeat reigning World Champion D Gukesh in a thrilling encounter. This was their first classical match since Gukesh won the world title, and it also marked Carlsen's return to individual classical chess after nearly a year. Reacting to the upset victory, Gukesh's coach, Grandmaster Vishnu Prasanna, praised the teenager's resilience and fighting spirit. "We have to give a lot of credit to Gukesh for his stubbornness and for his resourcefulness because I think he was aware that he was dead lost for so long, yet he kept kicking, he kept kicking, and the time went lower, the more chances he had to actually do something with the position. I don't think his intention was to win that, but yeah, I'm sure he is happy," Vishnu Prasanna said. The win has added further excitement to the tournament, with the race for the top spot tightening as it enters its final rounds.

With June 1 here, Bill Belichick's future takes a twist as buyout plummets to $1 million
Bill Belichick's dramatically reduced buyout sparks buzz about his next NFL move post-Patriots (Getty Images) Bill Belichick's unconventional offseason with the North Carolina Tar Heels just reached a critical turning point — and it has little to do with Xs and Os. June 1, 2025, is here, and with it comes a significant shift in the power dynamics between Belichick and UNC. The $10 million buyout in his contract has now shrunk to just $1 million, giving the legendary coach newfound leverage to walk away — no strings attached. Bill Belichick's buyout drops to $1M as June 1 arrives — is a surprise NFL return looming? This change, though buried in contractual fine print, was always the red flag skeptics pointed to when questioning Bill Belichick's true commitment to Chapel Hill. While many downplayed the importance of this clause, its presence said more than any press conference ever could. If Belichick had truly envisioned himself building a long-term program in North Carolina, he could have simply asked the school to remove the clause. He didn't. Now, with the reduced buyout officially in play, the dance between the Hall of Fame coach and his new college home just got a lot more complicated — and perhaps a little bit colder. What makes this entire situation even more volatile is the presence of 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, Belichick's girlfriend and, as some have put it, his de facto brand manager. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Their relationship has become tabloid fodder and locker-room curiosity all rolled into one — not least because of the visible influence she seems to wield over the stoic, famously private coach. Channing Crowder didn't mince words when describing the couple: 'She kind of coordinates and brand manages. She has her paws on the situation. It's different . . . It was weird to be around Belichick and Jordon. . . . I don't see Belichick in that light. But he just smiles and nods. . . . His old lady is different. . . . She lurks. It's weird to know him as Coach Belichick running the entire organization as G.M., head coach, talent coordinator, all that stuff, and then to see this tiny, little 95-pound girl kind of — pretty much telling him what to do. ' That last line hit a nerve. Hard. The fallout was swift — an awkward apology from Ryan Clark and an edited version of the show where Crowder's take was originally aired. But no amount of backpedaling could erase what was said. If anything, it confirmed the underlying tension many suspected: Hudson isn't just Belichick's partner — she's part of the inner circle. Reports that Hudson was banned from UNC's football facilities only poured fuel on the fire, even if the university denied such claims. Hudson herself clapped back at journalist Pablo Torre in a now-deleted social media post, suggesting the friction is real — and very personal. Belichick, who is no stranger to walking away before the first snap — just ask the New York Jets — now holds the cards. If he senses resistance, if Hudson feels slighted, or if the NFL suddenly calls with an irresistible offer, he can write a check and vanish. A $1 million exit fee is pocket change for a man who would be walking away from a $25 million deal. And let's not forget: Belichick didn't sign on at UNC during a hot hiring cycle. His phone wasn't exactly ringing off the hook with NFL offers. But now, if circumstances change — or if Hudson decides it's time — he has the power to act. Whether or not Belichick ever coaches a game in Tar Heel blue is no longer just a football question. It's a story about control, influence, and legacy — and how quickly all of that can pivot when the right clause finally kicks in.
