Britain's Got Talent's chaotic semi-final sparks fresh fix claims as fans share fury

Daily Mirror27-04-2025

Britain's Got Talent was caught up in another 'fix' row during the live semi-finals after singer Vinnie McKee made it through the grand finale, leaving fans fuming
Britain's Got Talent has found itself in the midst of another fix row during the live semi-final of the ITV show. Fans of the talent show looked on as singer Vinnie McKee was put through to the grand finale, but viewers felt the votes were fixed as other contestants should have made it through.
It was claimed that Vinnie had received the highest number of public votes but fans were let questioning that claim.Taking to X, one person wrote: "Fixed. Sick of the boring singers." Another penned: "Swear this is fixed."

Meanwhile a third person added: "Best two acts of the night going home. What a load of old s***. Left with two singers. Yawn. Might as well be X Factor."

This came after the ITV show got off to a rocky start as one of the acts, Teddy Magic, was not ready to perform in front of the judges and live audience, eventually pulling out of the live semi-final show.
After the act Heavysaurus opened the show, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly were forced to make an announcement about the upcoming act.
They explained that the magician Teddy Magic, who is eight years old, was not ready to perform due to backstage issues.
Ant told the viewers and the audience: "Now, Teddy isn't quite ready backstage yet. He hasn't got his magic up and ready yet, so we'll chat to you judges."
On hearing the unexpected news, Simon Cowell responded saying: "Hang on, so the act's not ready? It's okay, it's live." Ant then quipped: "And he's only eight years old, so back off, man!"

But things continued to get worse as Dec then revealed Teddy was not able to perform and would appear on stage later in the series.
Earlier this month, Britain's Got Talent was embroiled in another fix row following a surprise audition. An audience member jumped out of the crowd and asked to be given a chance to audition. Singer Max Fox seemingly left the judges shocked when he begged for a chance to perform.
Max explained that he had been trying to audition for years but was never able to get through and begged Simon for a chance.

He asked: "Can you give me one opportunity? I can show you what I've got." His audition clearly impressed the judging panel as Amanda Holden then pressed the golden buzzer.
His impromptu audition was met with scepticism by fans as they claimed it was a fix. However, Simon denied all claims and even offered to take a lie detector test.
He told the Mirror: "I think I should be wired to a lie detector machine in the future to prove I'm speaking the truth because when something like this happens people instantly shout fix."
He added: "In this case do you really think I could be bothered to plant someone in the audience? No. But that's exactly what happened."

Following a year-long romance, Helen also recently split with Robbie Talbot.

King Charles utters 'disgrace' to Queen Camilla during 'heated exchange'

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info An expert in lip reading has deciphered King Charles' apparently heated comments to Queen Camilla while the royal couple rode in a carriage during Trooping the Colour. The monarch's birthday was celebrated in grand style on 14 June, with the entire Royal Family in attendance. Kate Middleton, accompanied by her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, travelled from the Palace by carriage. The parade along the Mall to Horse Guard's Parade saw Prince William and Princess Anne ride horseback behind the King's carriage. Meanwhile, cameras caught a lively exchange between Charles and Camilla. He seemed to say: "Absolutely crazy, disgrace, absolutely extraordinary." Though Jeremy wasn't able to catch every word, he did pick up Charles saying "on my way out", followed by: "Meanwhile, not like me. That's the difference between me and him.", reports the Mirror. It's unclear who Charles was referring to, but the comments come amid a reported dispute between the King and his estranged brother Prince Andrew over Royal Lodge. There are claims that Charles is investigating Andrew's financial affairs to prevent any rash decisions made under financial strain. Prince Harry has admitted that he's had very little contact with his father following his withdrawal from frontline Royal duties. His explosive autobiography 'Spare' sent shockwaves through the monarchy, with experts speculating he might have permanently strained family relationships. In an impromptu but poignant gesture, today's Trooping the Colour was overshadowed by a tribute to the recent Air India tragedy which resulted in 241 fatalities, prompting His Majesty to request last-minute changes to the event. A respectfully observed one-minute silence blanketed Horse Guards Parade, as the Royal family donned black armbands to signify their grief. The ceremony showcased over a thousand troops of the British Army in full regalia, honouring Britain's rich military traditions. Central to the observance is the "Colour", or regimental flag, ceremoniously shown to the ranks, echoing its historical use as a rendezvous point amidst the chaos of war. King Charles continued the long-established tradition of inspecting the troops, a duty laden with ceremonial heritage.
