A viral video showing the budding friendship between a rescue cat and their new kitten sibling has touched the hearts of hundreds of thousands of viewers online, offering a rare glimpse of feline bonding unfolding in real time.
The pair's owner had captured former stray, named Menace, meeting the family's new, smaller kitten for the first time inside their home. At first, the adult cat keeps close watch over the newcomer, sniffing and shadowing the kitten with cautious curiosity. But it does not take long for that suspicion to melt into affection.
The short clip had been shared to Instagram under @pawswithari on August 15 and has amassed more than 123,000 likes to date. "I was worried how our stray cat Menace will get along with a new kitten," read the overlaid text at the start of the video.
Moments later, the scene shifts with a new caption: "Two hours later." By this point, the cats are pressed together in quiet comfort, with filmed Menace grooming the kitten as the pair snuggle side by side.
The caption accompanying the post cemented the duo's new bond. "Now they sleep in the sink together," it read.
The quick transformation—from wary introduction to mutual affection—has drawn comments from viewers emotionally struck by the scene. Several have praised the heartfelt clip, and Menace's quick acceptance of his new sibling.
"This might be the most adorable video I've seen all week oh my gosh," one viewer said.
"THIS is what the Internet was made for," another added.
"I'm going to die of cuteness," a third viewer shared lightheartedly, while a fourth added: "Warning: dangerous levels of adorableness detected."
"A match made in heaven," one viewer commented.
"He's not the stepdad. He's the dad that stepped up," another joked.
"It's funny how they determine who's in charge by who does the cleaning," a third said, referring to the moment caught on camera of Menace licking his new sibling. "Best animal ever."
"The look of relaxed happiness of a small cat being groomed by a new friend," one comment added.
"Oh, my heart, seeing Menace wash the baby. Loving this," another said, also pointing out the tender moment.

Acronym Trivia Quiz — BuzzFeed Quizzes

In case it's been a minute since English class — guilty — an acronym is a word formed from the first letters of each word in a phrase. Think ER = Emergency Room, or PDA = Public Display of Affection. Ever hear an acronym so often it just…stops feeling like an acronym? Your brain files it under 'regular word' and moves on. That was me with SCUBA. Turns out — it's an acronym. Wild, right? I found this out today, which apparently means I'm not the grown-ass adult I thought I was. Sure, I can cook and do my taxes, but this SCUBA had me shame-eating ice cream. I'm blaming it on the whole 'living in Toronto, nowhere near the ocean' thing. So, whether you're a SCUBA instructor or someone who couldn't tell me what ASAP actually stands for, it's time to put your acronym skills to the test. Here's the deal: I'll give you a common acronym, and you tell me what it means. That's it. Easy. LFG!! How'd you do? LMK in the comments — and be honest: Which acronym did you have no idea was FR an acronym? Anyone else in the dark about SCUBA? NGL, a few of these were news to me, too, so you're in good company. LOL. (I know, I know...I'm going way overboard with the acronyms. I'll GTFO!) For more fun content and quizzes, make sure you follow BuzzFeed Canada on TikTok and Instagram for more!

'South Park' to Take Aim at Trump's D.C. Federalization in New Episode

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. South Park teased a new episode on Wednesday, taking a swipe at President Donald Trump's federalization of Washington, D.C. Newsweek reached out to the White House via email for comment. Why It Matters The deployments of National Guard troops to the nation's capital represent an unprecedented federal intervention in the District of Columbia's local policing and prompted legal challenges, public protests and sharp criticism from D.C. officials who said the move violated home rule. The shift raised questions about the use of the National Guard for domestic law-enforcement support and the scope of presidential emergency powers. What To Know The episode, titled "Sickofancy," dropped a teaser that showed tanks and National Guard troops around the White House and the Supreme Court and arrives as the Trump administration had moved to assert federal control over the District's police force and authorized hundreds of Guard members and federal agents to operate in the city. The 20-second trailer for the episode shows the character "Towelie" arriving in Washington, D.C., amid soldiers, tanks and armed personnel. In the clip, Towelie said, "This seems like a perfect place for a towel," as he approaches the White House lawn. 'Sickofancy': Towelie goes to Washington, D.C. South Park's 27th season continues this Wednesday, August 20 at 10/9c on Comedy Central and next day on Paramount+. — South Park (@SouthPark) August 20, 2025 The broader context for the satire includes President Donald Trump's declaration of a public-safety emergency for Washington and a federal operation that incorporated agents and roughly 800 National Guard members already activated in the District, alongside additional state guard deployments from governors in several states. Trump tasked the federal agents and National Guard personnel to traverse city streets in an effort to restore law and order and restore the capital's beauty, the president said. South Park has previously taken swipes at the administration, notably depicting Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem shooting dogs, in its second episode this season, The Associated Press reports. What People Are Saying The White House this week on X: "Make D.C. Safe Again 🇺🇸 In 11 days: ✅ 160+ illegal aliens arrested, including known gang members & those charged with assault, kidnapping, burglary, & more. ✅ 59 firearms seized. ✅380+ total arrests. This operation reflects @POTUS' commitment to restoring safety & security." Trump this week on Truth Social: "D.C. gave Fake Crime numbers in order to create a false illusion of safety. This is a very bad and dangerous thing to do, and they are under serious investigation for so doing! Until 4 days ago, Washington, D.C., was the most unsafe 'city' in the United States, and perhaps the World. Now, in just a short period of time, it is perhaps the safest, and getting better every single hour! People are flocking to D.C. again, and soon, the beautification will begin!" D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser on X this month: "Violent crime in DC is at its lowest level in 30 years. We had an unacceptable spike in 2023, so we changed our laws and strategies. Now, crime levels are not only down from 2023, but from before the pandemic. Our tactics are working, and we aren't taking our foot off the gas." What Happens Next The South Park episode will air on Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET. As federal, state and local officials negotiate legal and operational next steps for the capital's security, analysts and commentators are expected to continue to use the moment to debate the balance between public safety and local autonomy.

Episode 2, Goodbye Mrs. Selvig, follows Milchick as he visits his workers to learn more about the uprising on their innies. They are, unsurprisingly, shocked. Apple TV+ More news: 'Super Troopers 3' Sequel Gets Massive New Update Tramell Tillman, famous for potraying Seth Milchick from "Severance," has now joined the already expansive cast of "Spider-Man 4." Tillman's role has not been revealed, and he joins Sink and Colón-Zayas as the mysterious actors so far. There are a lot of rumors regarding the new film, including the theory that Miles Morales might finally be making his MCU debut. Reports indicated that Kevin Feige stated the Morales character should not emerge in the MCU into the "Spider-Verse" films are finished, but that could be a smokescreen. It could be that the addition of Colón-Zayas and Tillman could play the part of Morales' parents. The character's parents in the comics and "Spider-Verse" films are of African American and Puerto Rican descent, respectively. Marvel is generally great at hiding things, so the studio could be throwing out nuggets of information to throw fans off theories that may or may not be true. Either way, Tillman being added to the cast should be exciting. He exploded with his portrayal of Milchick in "Severance," leading to his landing receiving an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, as well as SAG and Independent Spirit Award nominations. It will be exciting to see who Tillman ends up playing, along with the mysterious roles for the aforementioned actors added to this new sequel. For more comics news, head to Newsweek Comics.
