The UAE Central Bank has issued commemorative coins to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of poet Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais, who was born in 1925. Widely regarded as one of the region's most prominent poetic voices, his name is closely linked to the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Award, which has honoured dozens of Arab writers and creators since its establishment in 1987. The coin features a verse from the Emirati poet's writings. 'My homeland is my blood, flowing between my wings, as if it and soul are the same,' it reads. The reverse side features a portrait of Mr Al Owais, along with the inscriptions "Central Bank of the UAE" and "Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation" in Arabic and English. It also includes the phrase 'Centenary of Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais' in Arabic, along with the years 1925-2025 and the coin's face value of Dh100 ($27). Each silver coin weighs 60 grams, with 1,000 pieces to be issued. The coins will be given to the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation and will be available for purchase at its headquarters in Deira. 'We take pride in this collaboration, which reflects the Central Bank's keenness to honouring pioneers of thought and culture who have enriched creativity in the UAE and the Arab world,' said Saif Humaid Aldhaheri, the bank's assistant governor for banking operations and support services. 'The issuance of commemorative coins for the centenary of the Emirati poet Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais serves as a tribute to his memory and a recognition of his significant contributions to advancing intellectual and scientific progress in culture, literature and poetry.'

These efforts align with the UAE wise leadership's vision to support and empower women and to reinforce their role in shaping the UAE delegation participating in the event, organised by the Consulate General of the UAE in Guangzhou, was led by Badreya Al Maidoor, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, and included Mariam Alshamsi, Consul General of the UAE in Guangzhou; Emirati entrepreneur Maryam Al Mansoori, General Manager of Rebound; as well as representatives from Sky River and Maidoor affirmed that the empowerment of women remains one of the UAE's strategic priorities, in line with the wise leadership's vision to support Emirati women and enhance their role in shaping the nation's economic emphasised that since its founding, the UAE has adopted a pioneering approach to positioning women as active partners in the country's development journey, through supportive policies, legislation, and initiatives across both the public and private sectors - making women's participation in national development a key driver of the UAE's regional and global said, 'We take pride in the remarkable achievements of Emirati women across all sectors. Through this dialogue, we aim to expand cooperation with women entrepreneurs in China by fostering economic partnerships built on diversity and innovation, while sharing success stories that inspire the next generation of women leaders in both countries.'The event featured a series of panel discussions highlighting women's roles in vital sectors such as sustainable finance, investment, fintech, green building, and the localisation of foreign companies in the UAE. Women leaders from both countries shared their professional experiences and the opportunities that empowered them. The event marks a significant milestone in the UAE's ongoing efforts to reinforce the pioneering role of Emirati women in sustainable development, in line with the objectives of the 'We the UAE 2031' vision and several other national goals.

The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE), in collaboration with Al Nasr Sports Club, has issued commemorative silver coins to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Al Nasr Sports Club, one of the most prestigious sports clubs in the UAE. The issuance of the coin is a tribute to the Club's role in supporting the sports movement and enhancing national identity over the past eight decades. The CBUAE issued 1,000 commemorative silver coins, each weighing 40 grammes, with a design that combines the club's symbolism and its rich heritage. The obverse of the coin features the Al Nasr Sports Club logo along with the place and year of establishment, "Dubai 1945". The reverse of the coin displays the coin's nominal value of "80 Dirhams" with the phrase "80th Anniversary of Establishment of Al Nasr Sports Club", surrounded by the name "Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates" in addition to the phrase "Commemorative Coin" in both Arabic and English. The coins have been delivered to Al Nasr Sports Club and will not be available for sale at CBUAE's headquarters or its branches. Saif Humaid Aldhaheri, the CBUAE's Assistant Governor for Banking Operations and Support Services, said, "The issuance of this coin reflects our keenness to mark important national events that contribute to fostering cultural and sporting awareness, and to highlight the achievements of national institutions at both local and global levels. Al Nasr Sports Club represents a sporting edifice that combines history with future ambition." Engineer Marwan bin Ghalita, Chairman of the Board of Director of Al Nasr Sports Club, said, "Al Nasr Club is proud of its history and its pioneering role as the first club to lay the foundation for the sports movement in the UAE, celebrating eighty years of giving and achievements. The CBUAE's issuance of the coin commemorates this legacy and consolidates the club's position in national sports.
