West Virginia couple pulled over after cops spot them having sex while drunk driving stolen RV
A couple in West Virginia was arrested after police pulled over their stolen RV and allegedly found the duo both in the driver's seat, totally nude and having drunken sex, according to a criminal complaint.
Authorities pulled over Shannon Bryant, 35, and Matthew McDonnell, 48, while they were driving through Bluefield, West Virginia last Wednesday afternoon.
4 Matthew McDonnell was arrested after allegedly stealing an RV and trying to have sex with a passenger while driving.
The Smoking Gun
4 Shannon Bryant was allegedly seen straddling McDonnell behind the wheel of the RV, police said.
The Smoking Gun
While cops were pulling the vehicle over, they noticed that Bryant was in the driver's seat straddling McDonnell as the RV tore down the road, according to the complaint obtained by the smoking gun.
When cops approached the driver's side window, McDonnell was sitting innocently in the passenger's seat as if nothing had occurred, like a teenager caught in the act.
But Bryant, who 'appeared to be highly intoxicated' while sitting in the driver's seat, had no shame and candidly told the cops 'We were f–king',' Officer R.L. Hamm reported.
The duo were quickly ordered out of the vehicle before Bryant could delve further details on their escapade.
McDonnell reportedly confessed after the two were read their rights and said that they 'were naked and attempting to engage in sexual activity while driving' when the police pulled them over.
The pair then scrambled into the opposite seats as the officers approached the RV, he added, trying to play it coy.
4 Records cited the materials found in the couple's RV, including drugs.
The Smoking Gun
When police searched the RV, they found drug paraphernalia inside including a bag of white powder. They also recovered painkillers and a broken glass pipe that Bryant admitted McDonnell had tossed out the window during the stop.
A vehicle check using the VIN number and registration also revealed that the RV-turned-love shack had been stolen from Princeton, a city just 10 miles away.
4 Drug-using materials were also found in the RV, police said.
The Smoking Gun
The disrobed duo were charged with indecent exposure, drug possession, DUI and possession of a stolen vehicle, according to records obtained by the smoking gun.
Despite being caught in the act and admitting to having sex behind the wheel, the couple pleaded not guilty.
McDonnell has a prior criminal record and a warrant out for his arrest in Tazewell County, Virginia, according to court records obtained by WTRF. He is being held on an $8,000 bond.

Driver accused of ramming into LA crowd charged with 37 counts of attempted murder, prosecutor says
Los Angeles prosecutors announced felony charges Tuesday in connection with a car crash outside a nightclub over the weekend that injured at least 37 people and led to the driver being shot. Partygoers were leaving the Vermont Hollywood venue at the end of a reggae hip-hop event early Saturday when a vehicle rammed into the crowd along a busy boulevard in East Hollywood. The car came to a stop after colliding with several food carts, which became lodged underneath the vehicle, and bystanders attacked the driver, according to police. Injuries ranged from minor to serious fractures and lacerations, and some people were briefly trapped beneath the vehicle. LA County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced 37 counts of attempted murder and 37 counts of assault with a deadly weapon against the driver, who was identified Sunday as 29-year-old Fernando Ramirez. He's accused of intentionally driving his car onto the sidewalk. A phone number for Ramirez could not be found in an online database search, and the public defender's office has not responded to requests for comment on whether one of its attorneys is representing him. 'This was an unprovoked act of violence that injured 36 people, some critically,' Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell said. 'It's truly a miracle that no one was killed that day.' Ramirez was later found to have been shot in the lower back, but authorities have not identified the suspected gunman. Los Angeles police released surveillance photos Monday from cameras near the crash showing a man with a goatee wearing a blue Dodgers jacket and a light blue jersey with the number '5.' Ramirez has a criminal history that includes a battery and gang-related charge in 2014, an aggravated battery conviction for a 2019 attack on a Black man at a Whole Foods grocery store in Laguna Beach, California, and a domestic violence charge in 2021, records show. Ramirez 'has proved to be violent to strangers and family alike and clearly has a lack of concern for the safety of others,' Orange County prosecutors said in a court filing for the 2019 attack. A 2024 drunken driving case and 2022 domestic violence charge were pending at the time of the nightclub crash, according to records.
