Liam and Noel Gallagher perform together this week for the first time in 16 years as rocker FINALLY joins rehearsals - just weeks before Oasis' reunion tour kicks off

Daily Mail2 days ago

Liam and Noel Gallagher are set to reunite on stage this week for the first time in 16 years as the first full Oasis rehearsal takes place.
The formerly feuding brothers had put their differences aside and announced that they are set to perform a number of Oasis reunion gigs this summer.
And while Noel, 58, and the rest of the band have already kicked off band rehearsals without the frontman, 52, Liam is finally set to join the rest for a full set run-through at a secret location just weeks before the world tour begins.
It will be the first time Noel and Liam have played together was at the V Festival in Staffordshire back in August 2009. Just days later, the band split following a huge row ahead of the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.
Liam shared his excitement about rejoining the band as he answered a plethora of fan questions on X on Sunday morning.
From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop.
One fan asked: 'Happy sunday man! Are you ready for rehearsals? there are only a few days left and you're joining the others?'
To which the singer replied: 'Yes Rasta D I'm in Tuesday to blow there minds.'
Another asked whether he was 'excited' to begin rehearsals, with Liam responding: 'Can't wait'.
Meanwhile, Liam further confirmed he was joining rehearsals after a different fan commented: 'How long will your rehearsal day be? Will u breeze in & breeze out quickly?'
With the rocker remarking: 'I'll sing the set then I'm out there I don't hang about.'
The Wonderwall singer also told how he was feeling 'biblical' and would not hang around to take photos as he noted: 'You won't see me I'm not a poser, I'll be in and out.'
It comes as the truth behind Noel and Liam's reconciliation and subsequent Oasis reunion has been revealed.
According to reports, fans of the band have Noel's daughter Anais to thank for the long-awaited reunion tour.
The model, 25, is said to have helped bring the estranged siblings back together after 'planting the idea' of a reconciliation.
Anais is also said to have helped piece together the set list and give an insight into what younger fans might want to hear.
According to The Sun, a source said: 'Anais could tell her dad really wanted both his brothers, Liam and Paul, by his side after the split so was determined to get them back in touch.'
They continued: 'She gets on great with Liam's sons Gene and Lennon so she asked them if their dad would be willing to hear her out.
'It enabled her to plant the idea of a reconciliation on both sides. Thanks to her close relationship with Liam, she was able to call him. Once Liam called Noel, the rest was left up to them.'
Anais has frequently been seen with her cousins Molly, Lennon, and Gene with them often attending events together.
Molly's mother is Lisa Moorish, who Liam had a brief relationship with while he was married to Patsy Kensit in 1998.
Anais is also said to have helped piece together the set list and give an insight into what younger fans might want to hear (pictured above in 2015)
Liam did not meet Molly until 2018 after which he expressed hope he would remain in her life.
Liam shares Lennon, 25, with ex Patsy Kensit, and Gene, 23, whose mother is Nicole Appleton who he dated following his divorce from Patsy in 2000.
Noel also has Donovan, 17, with ex wife Sara MacDonald, who he split from in 2023.
Oasis sensationally split in 2009 after a backstage bust-up - devastating their loyal fan base.
In the 14 years that have followed, a feud and bitter fighting has ensued with the brothers trading insults back and forth in interviews and social media.
But this year, the pair are reuniting for a huge world tour, and have dates booked across the UK, America, South America and Asia in 2025.

Beachgoers urged not to walk barefoot on sand or risk poisonous sting

Weever fish, one of the UK's few venomous fish, bury themselves in the sand and inject venom via their dorsal fin when disturbed, posing a risk to UK beachgoers. East Riding of Yorkshire Council is installing warning signs to advise against walking barefoot on beaches during weever season, which begins in June. The Wildlife Trust recommends wearing beach shoes while paddling in sandy waters to avoid stings. The British Marine Life Study Society describes the pain from a weever fish sting as excruciating, with intense pain, redness, and swelling occurring in the first two hours. The Wildlife Trust and NHS advise treating stings by immersing the affected area in hot water and removing any visible spines or tentacles, with painkillers and antihistamines also recommended; ensuring tetanus vaccination is up to date is also advised.

IKEA is shutting ANOTHER UK store in just a fortnight's time after ‘lessons learned' amid customer backlash

YET another IKEA store has announced it's shutting its doors and saying farewell - or farväl - to customers. Retail giant IKEA was founded in Sweden in 1943, and opened its first UK branch in Warrington, Cheshire, in 1987. The next Swedish store to pull the plug is the Aintree Plan and Order Point store in Liverpool. Set up in December 2022, the Aintree Racecourse Retail Park store was the first 'test and trial format' in the UK. The smaller Plan & Order Point store was dedicated to kitchen and bedroom planning, and offered customers home furnishing advice. IKEA explained the closure was 'a result of valuable learnings which will take the conceptual format in a direction to better suit the needs of UK customers'. A spokesperson for the retail giant expressed: 'There has been an increased demand for Click and Collect services, a desire to shop a smaller selection of home furnishing accessories, as well as the ability to return goods to physical IKEA units, something which, owing to the space available, the current location is unable to offer. 'To better service its customers, future Plan and Order Point openings, including in Dundee, Hull and York will offer these services. "IKEA also remains committed to trialling new formats including its upcoming small stores, one of which will open in Chester later this year.' Customers will be able to collect any purchases from Tesco Extra Birkenhead, Tesco Superstore Old Swan, the Warrington store or the upcoming smaller new Chester store. The disheartening retail news comes after the closure of IKEA Stockport in Merseyway Shopping Centre, which opened just two years ago. The retailer has confirmed that both Plan and Order points will be closing on June 16. The Sun takes a trip inside the new Ikea Oxford Street Other Plan and Order points, such as the ones in Dundee, York and Hull, will be adapted to meet those new demands and also include a small range of home furnishing accessories to buy. The news comes after IKEA opened its own hotel in the Canary Islands. Boasting cheap rooms, a swimming pool and breakfast, it also offers some of their most popular homeware items. Las Dunas de Santa Catalina Boutique House is a new two-star hotel owned by the interiors brand in Gran Canaria. Rooms start from £105 a night, which includes a continental breakfast, and works out to just over £50 a night for two people. 2 Why are retailers closing stores? RETAILERS have been feeling the squeeze since the pandemic, while shoppers are cutting back on spending due to the soaring cost of living crisis. High energy costs and a move to shopping online after the pandemic are also taking a toll, and many high street shops have struggled to keep going. However, additional costs have added further pain to an already struggling sector. The British Retail Consortium has predicted that the Treasury's hike to employer NICs from April will cost the retail sector £2.3billion. At the same time, the minimum wage will rise to £12.21 an hour from April, and the minimum wage for people aged 18-20 will rise to £10 an hour, an increase of £1.40. The Centre for Retail Research (CRR) has also warned that around 17,350 retail sites are expected to shut down this year. It comes on the back of a tough 2024 when 13,000 shops closed their doors for good, already a 28% increase on the previous year. Professor Joshua Bamfield, director of the CRR said: "The results for 2024 show that although the outcomes for store closures overall were not as poor as in either 2020 or 2022, they are still disconcerting, with worse set to come in 2025." It comes after almost 170,000 retail workers lost their jobs in 2024. End-of-year figures compiled by the Centre for Retail Research showed the number of job losses spiked amid the collapse of major chains such as Homebase and Ted Baker. It said its latest analysis showed that a total of 169,395 retail jobs were lost in the 2024 calendar year to date. This was up 49,990 – an increase of 41.9% – compared with 2023. It is the highest annual reading since more than 200,000 jobs were lost in 2020 in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced retailers to shut their stores during lockdowns. The centre said 38 major retailers went into administration in 2024, including household names such as Lloyds Pharmacy, Homebase, The Body Shop, Carpetright and Ted Baker. Around a third of all retail job losses in 2024, 33% or 55,914 in total, resulted from administrations. Experts have said small high street shops could face a particularly challenging 2025 because of Budget tax and wage changes. Professor Bamfield has warned of a bleak outlook for 2025, predicting that as many as 202,000 jobs could be lost in the sector. "By increasing both the costs of running stores and the costs on each consumer's household it is highly likely that we will see retail job losses eclipse the height of the pandemic in 2020."

Freddy Brazier takes a swipe at dad Jeff's wife in list of things ‘he hates' and confirms he's moved back in with nan

FREDDY Brazier has hit out at his dad Jeff's wife Kate in a scathing attack on things he "hates". The 20-year-old is currently embroiled in a heated war with TV star Jeff over his nan Jackiey Budden, 68. 7 7 In his latest swipe, Freddy has confirmed he is now living with Jackiey in South London and included "step parents" in a list of things he "hates". Writing on TikTok, Freddy said: "I hate a whole load of things." Along with "step parents", he wrote over a picture of himself and Jackiey: "My over thinking, bullies, I'm easily manipulated, my family issues." Freddy, who's Big Brother star mum Jade Goody died from cervical cancer in 2009, also included: "Cancer." Alarmingly, he also included a string of references to his appearance, including his "big lips, nose, teeth" and said he "hates looking in the mirror". Freddy told his TikTok followers: "I don't know how to love because I've never been loved." Writing in the comments section, one person replied: "You're perfect as you are Freddy and have people around you who love you. "Life gets hard and dark at times but try to focus on the things you love and how lucky you are." Another added: "Sending you a big hug Freddy. I hope you find your peace and happiness. I'm on a journey to find mine too & sometimes it's just nice to know there are other people who feel a bit lost too." Freddy has also used the social media platform to confirm to a friend from boxing that he is now living with his gran Jackiey. Freddy Brazier defies dad Jeff to post new TikTok with nan Jackiey after legal action and 'weed smoking' row "Your doing well lil champ. I'm up in Southeast London, now fighting in Putney living in Bermondsey. I'll come down soon message me when you got a fight lil sis," he wrote. The admission came just a day after it was reported that Freddy had spent the last week staying with Jackiey in Bermondsey. Jeff, 46, recently launched legal action to block Jackiey - Jade's mother - from seeing his youngest son. Freddy was just four, and his EastEnders actor brother Bobby five, when Jade died from cancer. The Big Brother legend was just 27 when she passed away and the two boys were then raised by their dad. Jeff married publicist Kate in 2018, when Freddy and Bobby were in their early teens. Long-running feud Jackiey and Jeff have clashed several times over the years before The Sun on Sunday revealed that the former Dancing on Ice contestant had taken legal action following concerns for Freddy's wellbeing. The Sun On Sunday has since published footage and photos of Freddy smoking a suspicious looking cigarette with Jackiey in London. The pair were close to Tower Bridge and were in full view of tourists at the time. Since then, Freddy has continued to dismiss Jeff's concerns about him spending time with his nan. He has shared a TikTok of them dancing in Jackiey's garden, along with a string of photos - including one of them together - declaring: "Home is where the heart is." A source told The Mail this week: "Jeff was never going to keep Freddy away from his Nanny for very long – they've always had a strong bond. "Jeff may hate her for all sorts of reasons going back many years, but Freddy loves her very much. "They had a great time together, playing with her dog and catching up at her flat – where he has often stayed over the years. "Whatever Jeff hoped to achieve with his legal efforts, it hasn't worked." 7 7 7 7
